They make sabiki rods also but thats another rod holder you'll lose. Nice job
... thanks, those sabiki’s can be a recipe for disaster for sure. Glad you found the info interesting 😁👍
Regarding the storage area you opened in the bow. How much larger could you make the opening if you had a custom made hatch? I know a place that will custom make hatches and I'd consider getting one made if the price is right... Thanks!!
Keith Whitney I’ll take a measurement next time I pick up the boat. You should be able to go from lip to lip of the dry storage lids, and the edge of the seat all the way until the bow backrest starts to curve.
@@SaltyStrikes Thank you sir, www.boatoutfitters.com/ makes custom doors that you can have made to order. They have powder coated aluminum frames and doors made from Acrylic or Starboard and mount from the inside lip so they are almost flush with the deck. Only problem with them is they can get expensive...
What size door did you install?
I have 2019 r202ex. Love your ideas. What is the dimension or site where you purchased the forward compartment storage door? The head door is a pain in the neck. We use bungy cords but like your idea. What is the length?
Great job!
Ed Nowicki .. thank 🙏🏻, every little bit of extra storage helps. I put links to both the hatch and strut in the video description. Let me know how you like the mods when you get them done 👍✅
Thanks for the quick reply. I saw son=mething where you were installing a trolling mototr. Looked into it and found running the wires around the hull from the bow to the console area a challenge. Did you video your installation?
Ed Nowicki ... I didn’t video the install itself but I did show where I ran the wires in this video ruclips.net/video/ClSkh77YM1I/видео.html . You can make the holes bigger for easier access but with a stiff electrical snake it was pretty easy.
@@SaltyStrikes Those 36VDC batteries are pricey! Hate to keep asking but what is the charger you are using?
Ed Nowicki ... I have the onboard 12v to 36v charging system so it charging when ever the boat it running. I also have the 110v wall charger for throes days I run the trolling motor way more than the engine found on the same site at this combo kit. www.lithiumpros.com/product/lithium-pros-m3140-36ck-36v40ah-deep-cycle-lithium-ion-battery-kit/
do you have a vhf radio if you do where you put it i’m getting my r200 in 2 days thanks
Jorge Morales ... yes, we have a hand held one. Just keep in it in the battery switch box next to out PLB. We chose to go with the hand held because if the boat goes down we will still have a radio even if the range isn’t that great. If the 💩 really hits the fan is why we have the Locator Beacon.
I use pool noodles and cut them in small sections and wrap my sabiki around them
Hi , like your stuff , just wondering what do you use for lighting at night : spot light & spreader etc... , P.S. I support brothers & sisters in Blue ,
Thanks
Jean
... at night I try and have as little light on the boat as possible, everything reflects off the white deck and I can’t see out in the water. I used to have a hand held spot light. Now I just run Nav lights and turn the Simrad to night mode and keep the brightness way down.
Hey man, so sorry to message you again. About to pull the trigger here on a 2021 r202. More than it was 1 year ago. Now out the door is 56,000 with tax and etc... if you could do it again would you? I would plan on all the upgrades you did. Great work.
Richard Rogowski ... wow 😵😵🤑🤑, we only payed like $48,000 for our R200. It’s definitely been worth every penny and we get our money’s worth out off it. If you watch most of our other videos the proof is in the putting 😁👍. Trolling motor has been a game changer
Salty Strikes last message promise... on 11/19 - 48,000 out the door with a 7 year warranty. We decided to wait. Today, paid 56,500 out the door for a 2021 r202 with a 3 year warranty. I am going to do all your mods except seat. Maybe wait on that. Thanks for the video. Oh, if it wasn’t for this stupid virus , I would have waited till a boat show but we have a place on the water and no boat. Couldn’t wait any longer even if I did over pay a little.
What is the storage length on the trailer? Can not seem to find that anywhere.
From trailer tongue to prop?
Yes, if it is a folding tongue or not as well please
@@jasonk8801 … boats not on the trailer at the moments but I’m pretty sure last time in measured was about 26’
@@SaltyStrikes If the boat is on the trailer how long is the whole package?
Is there a 5 gallon bucket storage?
Enjoyit2005 ... only if you make one or for go the porta potty and put one in the head. Plenty of room in there.
What does your boat run for top speed?
Cody Westfall .. not sure about top speed but the fastest I’ve ever had it was 42 mph, probably not much more than that.
The steering wheel mounted in the center of the console isn't ergonomic.
.. not sure Robalo’s thinking behind that, I believe it was for more head room in the Head.
I like a lot of what you did..But I dont have the balls to start cutting and drilling into a brand new 70,000 boat..LOL
… I didn’t just start cutting and drilling before investigating. Shoved a camera in some nook and crannies to get an idea first.
ummm ahhhhhh uummmmm ahhhhhhhhhh uummmmmmmmmm ahhhhhhhhhh ;)
Biden would be proud of ummm uhhh this video.
