    Hey Chris, just picked up our R200 this weekend. Added the 20 lb strut today on the head door. The 20 lb strut was definitely the correct choice, not to strong. A 10 lb strut would definitely have been to light for the door. That door has some good mass/ weight.
    Thanks again, Bob

    Sounds like your pretty happy with the boat overall. I'm considering an R20 much better price point than a contender or a Grady, and seem just as stable in rough sea's. Thanks for your run down. Not painful at all. BTW I will definitely add the jack plate per your recommendation. Great vid. T😎

    Wow, what a great list of modification ideas! The R200 is my target boat once I retire from the Army later this year. I've had my heart set on this model for some time now, but these are some of the best after market ideas I've seen for this particular boat. I'm certain I will adopt many of them once I get my hands on a R200. In particular, I liked the anchor idea - any thoughts on putting a winch on it? or is the Trolling motor going to replace it? The center seat hatch is brilliant, might go with a Kayak hatch but good to know the space is there. Jack Plate: hadn't thought of that for a CC, but your reasoning is totally sound and think it'll make the list - any notable performance gains on the throttle with it? All of the storage spaces are brilliant too, head shelf, tool bar, under the helm seat etc. Thanks again for sharing. Really smart stuff there.

      Haven’t hardly touched the Anchor since we’ve had the trolling motor.
      As far as performance gains from the Jack, nothing noticeable others than being able to navigate shallower water and we put the motor up when the Trolling motor is pulling us in the current so the XI5 doesn’t have the drag of the Yamaha prop fighting it.

      Jorge Morales ... yes, we have a hand held one. Just keep in it in the battery switch box next to out PLB. We chose to go with the hand held because if the boat goes down we will still have a radio even if the range isn’t that great. If the 💩 really hits the fan is why we have the Locator Beacon.

    Hi , like your stuff , just wondering what do you use for lighting at night : spot light & spreader etc... , P.S. I support brothers & sisters in Blue ,
    Thanks

      ... at night I try and have as little light on the boat as possible, everything reflects off the white deck and I can’t see out in the water. I used to have a hand held spot light. Now I just run Nav lights and turn the Simrad to night mode and keep the brightness way down.

      Hey man, so sorry to message you again. About to pull the trigger here on a 2021 r202. More than it was 1 year ago. Now out the door is 56,000 with tax and etc... if you could do it again would you? I would plan on all the upgrades you did. Great work.

      Richard Rogowski ... wow 😵😵🤑🤑, we only payed like $48,000 for our R200. It’s definitely been worth every penny and we get our money’s worth out off it. If you watch most of our other videos the proof is in the putting 😁👍. Trolling motor has been a game changer

      Salty Strikes last message promise... on 11/19 - 48,000 out the door with a 7 year warranty. We decided to wait. Today, paid 56,500 out the door for a 2021 r202 with a 3 year warranty. I am going to do all your mods except seat. Maybe wait on that. Thanks for the video. Oh, if it wasn’t for this stupid virus , I would have waited till a boat show but we have a place on the water and no boat. Couldn’t wait any longer even if I did over pay a little.

      Enjoyit2005 ... only if you make one or for go the porta potty and put one in the head. Plenty of room in there.

    What does your boat run for top speed?

    • @SaltyStrikes
      @SaltyStrikes  4 года назад +1

      Cody Westfall .. not sure about top speed but the fastest I’ve ever had it was 42 mph, probably not much more than that.

    The steering wheel mounted in the center of the console isn't ergonomic.

      .. not sure Robalo’s thinking behind that, I believe it was for more head room in the Head.
