Just seen this. Great collection of items sir. I have fallschirmjager kit but the helmet and knockensach are beyond my funds. Have m35 and m42 luftwaffe helmets instead. If I won the lottery I'd start a collection like yours. Thankyou so much for filming such a great original helmet
I realise it's your channel...however $700 was an absolute bargain! But as you said...the seller (or his family) got in touch with you soon after to say it was sold at a bad price..and you said what you said. SUPERB find and deal..but for your conscience I hope the deal was done in good faith
Yes back then this stuff was nowhere near what it costs now. Might have been worth maybe a couple hundred more but that's what he wanted for it and I wanted a paratrooper helmet.
A beautiful FJ helmet. Really textbook example. The only way to see what that dark spot is is get it tested for blood. I wouldn't do it if it was going to removed a piece of the liner.
whats annoying is this guy knew what it was, knew how valuable it was, didnt even give him atleast half of the value, the family gets ahold of him and like a asshole said to bad. Nice one, great way to be douch-bag
Mortgage your house for a FJ helmet... That's what it's gonna take for a decent one and I have seen them go WAY higher than 4 grand, WAY HIGHER. But when collecting other German Helmets, do NOT use the Brian Ice or other Lot Number Databases to try and identify what branch of service the helmet was issued to, during the war. No I'm not talking about FJ helmets kids... Without a Decal or Field Blue to identify a M35, m40 or M42 last branch of issue, the lot Number means little, only a possibility, not a guarantee. There are a couple of exceptions, The NS and SE factories NEVER had a contract with the SS for helmets, so any NS or SE with a SS decal will have to be a Pocher or other NON factory SS decal. Also one of the factories had an ENTIRE lot of helmets dedicated to a Kriegsmarine contract.. Any collector worth much will know which factory. So if you have paint specific to a Branch (Luft) or a decal, you're all good... If you have none of that and are relying ONLY on a Lot Number Database or Brina Ice book, you only have a possibility, and no guarantee to which branch it was issued... NONE...

Are you able to adopt me and leave one of those helmets to me in your will? 🤔
😂
Lol you'll have to stand in line for that.
@@kennethreese4659no doubt 😂 I was just kidding but wishful thinking. I'll never be able to afford one of those 😂
Nobody can afford what they asking nowadays. Prices are way outta hand in todays market.

Thanks. I'm going to leave it as is. Don't want to remove the liner.
What a beautiful helmet, i guess it will go well over 10.000 euros nowadays in Europe.
Thank you, yes they go for tons of money now.
What a brilliant collection.
Thank you.
You got a heck of a bargain for $700.00..that is the one helmet I'd love to have in my collection

Beautiful, just salty enough to give it the look. Killer piece 👍
Thank you. It's my favorite helmet.
Beautiful example,lucky guy

It is annoying for someone to sell you something and want to get it back. You were very fortunate to get it at that price.
Yes, thank you.

You are correct. I hear this helmet now is probably worth in the neighborhood of 9 grand. Thanks for your information.
