Regret that most Hong Kong young residents spend their life time income and savings to buy apartments less than 300 sq.ft of just 50 year lease term. What Premier Lee of Singapore said as you quote is irrelevant to the Hong Kong situation nowadays.

Lee Kuan Yew would never understand why Hong Kongers can live in a 200 sq ft flat and yet willing to spend millions on it. Singapore smallest government HDB flats are at least treble the size and average Singaporeans pay less than a thousand dollars a month.

Factors to choose a suitable one include community, school zone, price, access to work, your budget, design and tastes pre owners....etc. Do some surveys, and see Steven's videos, and some other KOLs, that my advice to new comers to UK under BNO Visa pathway.

其實唔一定要50尾60頭才去弄園藝。以前在外國生活十多年，廿到尾已開始做園藝，一手一腳掘泥、撒種，種花，將前後園弄得鳥語花香，草地都是綠悠悠，跟鄰居天天談天說地，笑聲滿地。愚見認為這才是人生的追求。

買層apartment住幾年再買house，apartment留黎收租。
英國買房產第一考慮必定係區份, 其次先係間屋, 如果係單身或未有小朋友嘅couple, 住apartment會安全好多, 如果係有大有細嘅家庭就梗係住house啦, 普遍黎講, 只要唔係住係果D貧民區, 同英國人做鄰居一D都唔難, 只要每次見到面keep 住hi bye一下就可以, 切記唔好八卦同俾意見, 英國人唔太習慣師奶式嘅熱情.
至於草地花園就真係可免則免, 後生嘅冇時間打理, 年紀大嘅就冇能力打理, 而家英國年輕一代都越黎越少人鍾意大花園, 近年反而流行係後院加建玻璃屋, 其餘地面就鋪戶外木地板, 最多擺少少盤栽, 打理容易又美觀實用, 夏天唔使剪草, 冬天唔使掃葉, 落雨或溶雪之後又唔會污糟邋遢.

移民外國的人士必須知道在移民外國有很多矛盾。其實必須放棄做中國人！我覺得非常難又做外國人又做中國人。
移民外國的第一代人士，英文水平不好，而且不能融入當地社會。二代就可以融入社會。我父母就是香港人，但我是英國人。他們95年退休，他們不想在英國。我就要做個決定。跟他們回去香港還是大家分開。我決定放棄英國，跟他們回去香港。
在外國，第一代想第二代學廣東話，普通話，維持中國人的文化。但這是矛盾。如果二代只能講英文，他們自然找白人結婚，之後就慢慢忘記香港或者中國的文化。但如果要求二代學中文的話，二代可能找中國人結婚。問題就是在白人社會，別人就說你們中國人團結，不願融入社會。所以如果你移民英文國家，其實二代不應該學中文。真的很難又做外國人又做中國人。
我離開英國之後完全不後悔。反而現在覺得在泰國，越南，柬埔寨賺錢容易。
