Wake up babe, new Off Beat upload
When it shows "Midnight Pretenders", it's actually playing "All or Nothing", by Takako Mamiya.
Ah you’re right, good spot, my bad!
@@OffBeatChannelwhen it shows all or nothing its playing midnight pretenders
Good video btw, I know my City Pop well, this is a nice video
Thanks for these great video. I'm learning a lot!
Great video! One question: Why is Roll Me Through The Rushes by Chaka Khan shown as an example of city pop?? 😭
very interesting, thank you for this video.
Great video!
1:30 is Hong Kong, but Ill allow it. 😊
You switched Midnight Pretenders with All or Nothing
How far away from Yacht Rock is City pop?
Someone help me out here please :What’s the song at 7:12 (the DeVo -ish bit)? Thanks!
YMOYellow Magic Orchestra
What's the title of the music at timestamp 7:31?
It’s asayake but a special live version 1985.
Why’s this channel tiny
It’s not a musical genre, it’s a category that people made up, the label itself did not emerge from the 70s/80s. And Takanaka is not “city pop”
Ehh I hear more of a funk, R&B, jazz, boogie element more than a soft rock feel or anything else in my opinion.
