These playthroughs are the closest we are going to get. I'd love a Brett and Alex podcast where they just talk about whatever they want with occasional guests. I think the beard bros podcast they did was too structured. It just needs to be like 2 hours of them just rambling
I haven't stopped enjoying this series, but I have to say, the grinding halt in progress the last little while is wearing on me 😂
Idk if anyone appreciates it as much as I do, but the fact that the bros' keep the "pitch" to the middle of the video is awesome and making it, essentially, a running gag, I think adds entertainment value beyond it being a blatant "ad". Also, thank you, to all the patreons making my entertainment possible.
I'm actually getting kind of sick of it at this point, to where I am skipping portions of the video.
I wish I could enjoy it as a running gag but that ship sailed for me around elden ring episode 40 :(
Episode 70 and we haven't even delved into Raya Lucaria yet. Boy oh boy, the length of this series will never be surpassed.

Wanted to add there was a specific reason it was morph that died. Because yes, a character dying to a sentinel happened in the comics, very clearly what they based the first episode on. However, that character was Thunderbird, and even in the 90s they realized it was a bad look to start the series with killing the only native american character on the team.
Can we please get a series of Brett explaining comic book history?

The original Morph was looking like if crispin glover joined the X-Men. I figured that Morph can mimic the powers of people he mimics is due to Mr Sinister messing with him, cuz that's 100% on brand for Sinister.

Oh my god I had a grandfather who was with us until a few years ago, lovely man learned a lot from him but he ate the most HORRID shit. There was one time we were going camping with him in his RV at a place which could only exist in Ohio called Mosquito Lake (deserved the name) and when he went to cook dinner he pulled out these pork chops that I swear to god had like green shit growing on top of them. And this man's plan was to BOIL this meat and then cook it and he said it would "taste fine." That I did not eat but I swear he did and then lived for at least another 10 years.
I think the X-Men 97 creative team have said that their version of Morph is a combination of Changeling and Mimic.
as someone who's never read the comics I only know Morph through Greg Miller taking the piss out of him every chance he gets😂

My ex's mum god bless her had 4 kids to feed, all of them kinda with an ungrateful attitude, she made this lentil soup for us all when i came round for tea one day. It was the most disgusting thing i had ever had at the time, but i pretended to enjoy it to try and help her feel better about her garbage kids haha
The worst "eat over" I ever had *made me unable to eat mashed potatoes or spaghetti for about two decades* , legit. This family made "special dinner", their favorite dish ever, because I was over - this dinner consisting of mashed potatoes covered in sweet corn and then topped with spaghetti sauce.
That is the entirety of the dinner, that's what they really made and served while a normal person who eats normal food was over. I took two bites and literally became so physically ill I started throwing up nonstop and they had to call my mom to come get me *because they thought I was really sick from something else* - they for real couldn't fathom that their nasty dinner had made me so sick. I couldn't even look at mashed potatoes for about a year, I didn't eat any until after college, I still don't eat spaghetti sauce (though I like lasagna, I dunno man). Weirdly, I was still fine with corn, that part didn't change.
But yeah, dude that shit shakes me to my core to think about to this day.

The game Ted was talking about reminds me of a game I played as a kid. It was one of those shitty PC multigame CDs, and the game I'm thinking of had mice running around a maze. If you didn't get rid of them quick enough, they'd start mating and making babies. There was no animation, but I remember the super-compressed, kazoo quality moans of ecstasy when the mice came together lmao.
Not strongly holding against Beard Bros or anyone really, but pretty sure in the new iteration of the show Morph only uses they/them pronouns. At least I don't ever hear Morph referenced towards with any other third-person pronouns but I understand if previously the character was using he/him so folks are used to it and didn't notice it. Would mean a lot as a fellow they/them user and I know Brett/Alex meant no harm by it!

For context: I've seen very little of the Xmen shows or books so the Morph convo doesn't mean a lot to me. That being said, it was pretty funny everyone says He/Him for Morph and then after bringing up They/Them pronoun usage in the show and... just continue with He/Him lol.
