It's already happened in Iowa.. We used to have some of the highest ranked public schools in the country. Now the money is given to private schools, where 75% of the students given the money ALREADY WENT THERE. And many private schools promptly raised their tuition. 🙄
I remember growing up Iowa being the top in the country for all education. Times have sure changed.
And if you vote for MAGA we won't have public school at all
I homeschooled my kids for over 20 years and received no government funding. I happily paid my taxes so that the public schools were available to those who needed them in our community. We didn’t homeschool because we hate the public school system, though. My son randomly started reading at age two and by age five was reading at a fifth-grade level, but had the emotional responses of a three-year-old child. There was absolutely no way I was sending my son to public school. It was hard to find secular curriculum materials back then, since the vast majority of homeschoolers were Christian and teaching their children creation science (one disturbing book had a man standing with dinosaurs on the cover). We avoided all of that. I’m a Christian, but I’m not nuts. 😂 Plus, I’m married to an atheist, so we had a great balance there. Now I’m a Christian living with three atheists. 🤷♀️
True homeschoolers have always fought against the idea of vouchers because taking money from the government actually invites them into your homeschool and may jeopardize what you have planned for your own children. When you homeschool, you can more directed studies for each child because you have less students. The materials are designed specifically for use at home, not in large classrooms. Government interference just might defeat the purpose of homeschooling when it’s being done right.
No school vouchers. Let them PAY for their own private schools.
Vote💙to save public education ~
I am all for school choice. However, in states like Texas, this option already exists. I know as my son went to private school in Texas. Diverting funds from public schools only decreases the funding needed to educate the vast majority of students in our states, many of whom don't have access to any other school options. Nutshell, passing this statute doesn't create new private or charter schools, it only takes away the ability for public schools to have the resources needed to educate the majority of youth who live in them.
They can always move out of Texas !

@@anthonyvargas4908you really think it’s that easy for a poor family to just pick up and move somewhere else? Where are they going to go? This shouldn’t be happening. I homeschooled my kids for 20 years and we paid for ALL of it ourselves, as it should be. Another term for public schools is government schools. They should be the ONLY ones receiving money from the government.
From an educational perspective the best solution is to ban home schooling and make one curriculum that everyone must follow.
That voucher program is only going to hurt Public School System. They will receive less federal funds which means their education programs will be limited. City taxes will be raised and instead of putting the money in the public schools to better the public schools education system it's to help those others school outside. It's good for parents wanting their children to get a better education which could be in the public school systems if they would put more effort to make it better. Everyone isn't going to receive vouchers they're going and those who will receive vouchers best believe they will be cherry picking who will be accepted in those schools.
It's always those who have money able to send their children to the best private schoold making sure their children get the best education. God sees everything and knows all things and if their intentions are wrong God will expose ithem like He is doing now. Be bless
While their children go to private schools. These people are voted in they can be voted out
Wow, I never heard of this. Thanks for the info.
Give Texas back to Mexico
Vouchers have always been a terrible idea. Maybe in libertarian fantasy-land they made sense at one time but since Bush and the Gates utterly crushed out the school system, what we actually need is a total revitalization of public education… not a ‘better’ method of chipping away at the substandard system we already have
Keep doing these little bits. They are well thought out and I am sure they are helping.
Thank you for speaking out for we the people.
Can you do a small one about medical advantage plans, which are a ripoff of seniors and disabled.
It's working... the distrust is rampant. I just want my children to learn math, science, english, and history. What I do not want is the children not being able to talk about currents events, or about racial tensions or how they need to follow the money to find out who owns people as puppets and not have lgbt shoved down their throats in elementary school. When they are little kids, they need FACTS, not vague concepts, nor fear of calling someone the wrong pronoun, and upsetting someone. You need to keep mature discussions for when they are older and can understand what is going on.
Well then you definitely shouldn't vote Republican.
Perhaps if you want people to trust their institutions, you should make the institutions trustworthy. I’ve watched enough school board meetings to recognize the frustrations of parents being called bigots for voicing concerns about what is being taught, what is being kept from parents, and even who their children are sharing bathrooms with.
After two years of fighting with teachers to just do their basic job during COVID, we’ve discovered charter/private schools are eager to keep children learning and competitive. Why should parents send their kids to public schools when the children of politicians get sent to private institutions?
So are you saying parents shouldn’t have choice to put their children in a school that represents their values? That’s kind of concerning!
they certainly do. but tax dollars should not be supporting unscientific claims such as the earth is 6k years old and created by a god. if you want to teach your kids that garbage, do it on your own dime, don't divert the tax dollars from our secular government.
What is concerning: Parents having such rotten values, that they think, they have to insulate their children from different views. That a true testament, that they don't have values, just bigotry. If censorship is the way to defend your "values", there is something wrong with your "values".
No. It’s just that you should pay for it if you don’t like what’s offered for free.
No religious schools, it violates separation of Church and State.
@@troywest7045 Separation between church and state isn’t in the constitution. It’s the 1st amendment. And when 2 of my kids were in a charter school they would always start meetings and assemblies with a prayer, which I thought was wrong considering they took money from the government.
VOTE BLUE
Where do they get all this crack to smoke.
If parents were happy with public schools they wouldn't look for alternatives. I am personally thankful for school of choice which gave my kids better opportunities than the district we lived in. Parents should have a choice...
They don’t want your children to have a choice, which is ironic
@@ridingyourdad😂 I was just gonna say immune to irony 😂
That's fine, just no tax dollars for religious schools.
@@troywest7045 I'm for charter schools... but we need choices not just public only
Where we live the public schools aren't good. Home schooling and private school is the only choice for parents who want their child to get a proper education.
That's fine, but no penny of tax dollars should ever go to religious schools.

How is CRT racist
@@TheCoolJavelin7 CRT is inherently racist because it focuses on race as the primary determinant of an individual's experiences and outcomes. By asserting that race is the most significant factor in shaping society, CRT disregards the impact of other factors such as socioeconomic status, individual choices, and cultural differences. This emphasis on race as the central issue fosters division and resentment, rather than promoting unity and understanding among different groups.
I put my child in a private Catholic school and their curriculum consisted of watching Pixar and disney movies the majority of the time.

"Parents aren't breaking down trust ,the public school system already did that on their own.
I attended Public School when i was younger. I enjoyed going to School. I liked my class mates and my teacher. The students in the classroom liked the teacher.
The government doesn’t run the grocery stores. They issue food stamps. Why should they run the schools when they could issue school stamps (or vouchers as they’re known)?
Yes, I distrust our public schools
All i know is most parents want children to learn math, science, readind, history etc. Not politics and corrupt ideology. Thats why i homeschool. Just the facts of subjects and to be good and fair to everyone.
Did you ever send your kids to public school? Did something happen if they were there? My three were in both public and private schools in 2 different states and we’ve never had any issues. But that’s us, I realize other people might not have had the same experience so just wondering.
Elementary school doesn’t teach corrupt ideology or political rhetoric. That’s ridiculous.
I hope you also allow your kids the opportunity to socialize... unsocialized kids do very poorly in adulthood
The Republicans are the ones that are trying to teach politics and corrupt ideologies. That's why they want your kids to go to their private school.
