This feels like one of those cool one-off things you would see at SEMA. I can only imagine how much work it took to get to this point with software, hardware, etc. It opens a whole new door for C6 owners. I don't know what entails getting it or something C5 related into the New Product Showcase for SEMA this year, but it could be another avenue to getting more exposure (if it hadn't crossed your mind yet).
Yeah, its something I have debated. The C5 is a tough one because there are variations with the hvac. Some are electronic, some arent. I am hoping C5 can be ready by mid to late summer. We'll see. The C6, in terms of fitting it, was much easier, by how the dash is designed. Canbus was tough but the serial data stuff is proving more difficult even. It's going to be a pretty successful product I am hoping. We will see!

Yeah...I was rumbling in December then all hell broke loose. Been trying to catch up. Lots coming...I gotta do this youtube my way, or I lose interest. Started listening to too many people, "go faster", "focus on the lights", "do this", "do that". RUclips has to be my outlet for all things "Damian" or I just can't be excited about it anymore. I really miss the offroad fun to break up the monotony of the Corvette stuff so...tha'ts coming back!

I’m super interested in this unit for a possible project where I fully modernize a C6! I have a couple questions if possible! 1. Would I be able to have some of backup camera with it if I were to get one? 2. Would I be able to program/wire it to aftermarket heated/cooled seats from somewhere like Katzkin? 3. Would I be able to program other types of cameras/sensors to it if I wanted to? Thank you so much for bringing this to the C6 community! I’ll be excited to hear back
The system will have multiple cameras. For aftermarket seats and/or controls, we have to see ahead. Programming and custom applications is ahead of where we are right now, but yes.

Thats the plan...I want track features or this mod will fail me in my own mind. My z06 wont have this inside unless there is a pathway to that. I will see to it!!

A fairly common upgrade is to put C7 or C8 seats in a C6. Mechanically they are direct drop in, and electrically, there is a guy that makes a harness adaptor. The C7 and C8 seats are cooled. Since the C6 wire harness does not support cooled seats, since they didn't exist in the C6, any thoughts on how to get the signal from the unit and HVAC system to the seat to turn the fans on and off? - I have a 2011 Z06 with Z07 package and would be interested in the pre-buy. Any thoughts on how much of a savings the pre-buy will be? Will the pre-buy hardware be identical to the production hardware, with just software to be upgraded? Me too! My Z06, several cameras and some PDR style system on board...thats my vision. I even am working on a dynamic suspension controller programmed in, for C5.

Fm and am of course. Sat radio, carplay and androud auto for phone audio, Spotify app and even hard drive to store audio. Many, many methods to hear...or watch what you want.
My Keworth NAV has 3 camera hooks up. I use one as a dash cam, one as a reverse cam and one at the bottom of my front bumper to keep from hitting curbs. Will there be camera options? Thank you sir for the hard work. As far as the preamp out puts, how many? Hopefully 3. Front, rear and sub.
We are still going through a lot of things and development BEGINS upon the launch of this product, toward a whole slew of other features. For c5 I am assuming you mean? There are several approaches I am testing there, innorder to keep cost down. C5 faces some real challenges. In C6, this thing fits like GM intended it to be there.
No I was talking about a C6, I was thinking there was some bracelets that run across between like the radio & H/vac system. That’s great that there’s no modifications to this procedure of this install 🤗

I want one I have a 2011 grandsport lt4 convertible all option car I hope you make the bezel match the carbon trim package .. be nice if I could drop the top from it haha but I'd take it like it is ..... Just make sure it has more than 4 gb of ram or it will be laggy and the screen above 90 Hz preferably 120 Hz for a buttery motion on the touch screen and at least 64 gb of storage space SSD maybe add an SD option slot for expanded storage as well

I do have a exhaust cut out in place of my cigarette lighter so I would have to relocate that but it would be well worth it. If you could incorporate that that into the system down the road that would be amazing!

My question is the quality of the stereo, I just installed a Alpine and man does it sound good on the stock Bose on my 2011 c6 ZR1 what’s the sound quality gonna be like?
We are still pursuing solutions to find best spots, maybe even add a housing, etc. I'm a guy at my house developing stuff on this level....I'm gonna need a second...lol.
Can you design a new, more modern faceplate, buttons, and knobs for the C5 HVAC unit? It's probably the biggest eyesore in the interior once you have done all the other interior upgrades. Should be fairly simply as the faceplate plastic detaches from the rest of the unit. The LCD screen on it is fine, it's the plastic around it that's ugly. I think this would sell like hotcakes, especially if it's at a reasonable price given that it would be a very feasible/low cost 3D printed plastic faceplate/button/knobs with graphics on them.
I have discussed this for sure. We are pulling all the electeonic hvac serial bus data.so, if we can make a big screen for the car like this, then I certainly can consider a small screen replacement that is modernized. We'll see ahead if its cost efficient or demanded to do so, once a full screen options exists like this.
@@KnightDriveTV I was actually talking about just the plastic/cosmetic faceplate surround for the HVAC and leave the unit's guts intact, no electronics or mechanicals touched. Many of us have already upgraded our stereo head units to touchscreens or don't want a huge Tesla style screen on the dash, so I was thinking just a basic but nice plastic faceplate swap for the C5 HVAC unit which is literally just printing plastic pieces (face, buttons, and knobs) with updated graphics on them in a nicer font than the 90s GM font. Not going to discourage you from the full Tesla screen setup, but it would be nice if you offered this too and the cost to produce would be extremely economical.

It has 8gb ram, I can confirm and has 128 and 256gb options.

This is something that is going to be subjective and I will do my best to translate opinion, based on a beta group of early testers.

I think this would sell like hotcakes, especially if it's at a reasonable price given that it would be a very feasible/low cost 3D printed plastic faceplate/button/knobs with graphics on them.
I have discussed this for sure. We are pulling all the electeonic hvac serial bus data.so, if we can make a big screen for the car like this, then I certainly can consider a small screen replacement that is modernized. We'll see ahead if its cost efficient or demanded to do so, once a full screen options exists like this.
@@KnightDriveTV I was actually talking about just the plastic/cosmetic faceplate surround for the HVAC and leave the unit's guts intact, no electronics or mechanicals touched. Many of us have already upgraded our stereo head units to touchscreens or don't want a huge Tesla style screen on the dash, so I was thinking just a basic but nice plastic faceplate swap for the C5 HVAC unit which is literally just printing plastic pieces (face, buttons, and knobs) with updated graphics on them in a nicer font than the 90s GM font. Not going to discourage you from the full Tesla screen setup, but it would be nice if you offered this too and the cost to produce would be extremely economical.
