Oh, wait, I'm Clara's mom." *Sits down at the piano and plays the Snowflake pas de deux, then goes to the studio to teach an adult ballet class.* I don't see this as stopping ballet; I see it as adjusting ballet so it works for where you are now, and that's so much better than continuing to dance the big roles until your body and mind give out. I'm excited for the rest of Vlogtober, with all the piano music, and dog footage, and whatever else is in store.

Love the piano of the snow pdd! In the RB's version it's the first PDD between Clara and the Nutcracker, very emotional. No Nutcracker from the RB this year though (Cinderella instead!) Going to see the RB perform Christopher Wheeldon's Alice for the first time this Saturday so really looking forward to that!

Genuine question - you said in your previous video that you're burnt out on the athleticism/cross-training side of ballet. Would you ever be interested in choreographing ballets that focus on story and artistry rather than athletic side? I ask because when I was learning ballet as a teen in the midwest, I danced principle story roles with choreography focusing on my strengths and the needs of the music and story and genuinely had no idea that in the larger ballet world there was actually set choreography to classic ballets focusing on difficult moves. I was both horrified and super intimidated this was a thing, and when I got injured I kind of...well, gave up, because I had no support crossing over into that world. However, what I loved most about ballet was the ability to tell stories through dance. ...I guess my question boils down to... do you enjoy choreographing and storytelling through choreography?
Ever since you mentioned talking about your adoption, that I've been thinking "has that video come out yet and I just missed it"? I would really love if you could do a video on your adoption story. Seeing your dad at your wedding next to you and Chris really makes me think that your family loves you a lot and you're very cherished. Video please, but only if you really want to. Loved this vlogtober start :)
I still think you have more ballet performances in you. I would love to see you on stage again, but i think it's good you're taking a break. I watched your Romeo and Juliet and Sleeping Beauty. It was sad to see you when you were in New York City ballet and at your best and passionate. I would love to see you on stage again. 😢 Honestly I'll miss your style on stage.
