I think they do it cuz they want to stop the zombie problem by going back and with maxi and shit
to send the souls to the house. the souls show up as child versions of themselves, and if the crew we've been playing as dies, the kids will live on.

Mrroflwaffles, I have a theory about the blood vials, what if they are the reason the plane of MoTD is on SoE,The giant, and ZNS, my theory is.
What if there is an object from a different dimension in one that it doesn't belong to, an example, Richtofen has the blood vials, then the MoTD dimension starts to leak where Richtofen is, that would also explain why there is the SoE boat on ZNS, he has the summoning key, that belonged to the SoE universe (Or atleast I think that), so then, that dimension leaks into ZNS, and so on, what if there is a specific moment on the timeline when the dimensions start to leak so much that people start appearing in other dimensions, I have also a quote from Nero that made me think about this theory
"It's like other realities are bleeding into our own"
If the summoning key isn't from a certain a dimension and it was created from all dimensions then that should also explain why the dimensions are collapsing, or another explanation is that as the Lovecraft mythology, the summoning was created by Apothicon on Lemuria, that should also explain the giant squid on the sky in SoE.

Brandyn_ nite Good relation but has a good reason to why it atcually looks like that in the fallout universe everything is how it is right now till the 1960's to 70's then an extreme amount of reasearch is done on radiotion and nuclear power which sparks a golden age back in 1939 ww2 there were plans made by hitler to create a robotic army of giant robots which would have costed a lot jut to find out how large the surface is and how easy it would be to take down anyway these plans were scrapped and in the fallout universe scientist develop the robot and sell it to the us marines for costly price the robot served in many battles but died serving the last attack were Korea ultimately nukes the whole world as a final stand and creates a nuclear fallout, later in fallout games Liberty prime was assembled by the brother hood of steel and was used in there advantage as they were the last of the us government, and there you have it a good explanation for your comment

My theory on Doctor Monty. Doctor Monty was the first of the group 935 scientists to travel into Agartha, during a test run of the not yet finished project [the teleporter]. Once inside he realized that this place can control a all of the inter-dimensional element 115 that group 935 had recently discovered he began to experiment with it. He realized the effect 115 can have on dead subjects, as well as the possible buffs it could have on humans [hence the creation of perk a colas and gobblegum]. He also realized well in Agartha that he was able to transverse time and space, so he could test his advances with 115 on subjects in the past without harming anyone of his current timeline, these experiments created the zombie templars. He eventually created a structure that would allow him to swap from Agartha to Earth anytime he please, and the portal to Agartha on the 935 moon base was created [ before 935 actually got there ]. After starting a successful candy company on Earth, he returned to Agartha to discover the rest of its capabilities. He found Agartha was able to control and create and infinite number of dimensions, and Monty took advantage with this to be a judge of the entire universe, and found inspiration from the zombie experiments at 935 and used them for his punishment. Two examples of this punishment come in Mob of the Dead, as well as Shadows of Evil. Most of the time Monty did not appear during his punishments and used others such as Brutus to punish for him, and also disguised his voice with a devilish tone to appear more menacing. This routine goes on for a while until Samantha. Agartha only allows the user to alter the past not the future, as it has not yet been written. When doctor monty saw the evil Richtofen had become, he saw that after the teleportation incident with Samantha and Maxis, that he would need to fix the past. Without knowing what the future might hold, he quickly went back in time and spoke with Richtofen. He told him of the evil he would become, and how he needed to fix it and Richtofen understood. Monty then told Richtofen to open a portal and meet him in a certain dimension where the summoning key was kept, this dimension happened to be the Shadows of evil dimension. There, he would appear as the shadow man, and make sure that the 4 characters were able to kill him, therefor he would be absorbed into the summoning key before Samantha entered Agartha and took control. Now inside the key he was able to continuously instruct Richtofen and direct him along the way. Monty used the summoning key for almost every thing and could still teleport items through the Ather with being in it. This includes its use for place and summoning perk and gum machines, wall weapons, mystery box and the pack a punch machine, however Samantha could also do this which allowed her to annoy the crap out of you be teleporting the mystery box around. This is how richtofen knows what to do along the journey. Monty also can speak with maxis, his former assistant, and this is why Richtofen had not heard of Monty prior because Maxis had hid the teleporter malfunction which sent Monty to the Ather from the rest of the group. Monty never told Richtofen his name, as he might of not trusted him had he known he was from group 935. Other evidence of Monty being in Agartha is the unlimited amount of 115 used to make his drinks, only avalible on Agartha. I hope you enjoy, critique, and add to my theory so that it might go to Treyarch, and they might establish it. Just trying to spread this on youtube.

Why do they have to kill the 1.0 characters?
They need the 1.0's souls in the summoning key to do something to save the universe which we do not quite know yet
Their main goal was originally to stop moon from happening, and in order to do that they had to kill the 4 original characters.

So… The last time I was really playing and following the story of this franchise was black ops 1. I recently purchased Cold War primarily for zombies. Of course I want to learn what has been going on over several years and games since I last played. This video was the most clear-cut explanation of major events up until where this video left off. I certainly hope that you make another video similar to this, perhaps a 15 minute video, to encompass the entire story. A lot of videos on RUclips tell a very long hyper detailed story of literally everything that happens. I am just curious as to the timeline of each zombie game as it was released. This video was fantastic. Please do another once Cold War is complete

corporalfailure They aren't killing their future selves, they're killing their doppelganger from another timeline. To make it easier, let's call the characters they are killing 1.0, and the BO3(current timeline) characters 2.0. The 1.0 versions are in WAW, BO1, and BO2 except for Origins. The 1.0 timeline ends in Buried, when either Richtofen or Maxis takes over and has full power. When that happened, Samantha traveled to 1917, to rewrite history. She meets the 2.0 characters in Origins. The 2.0 characters journey begins in the next 2 years after Origins happened, when Richtofen was researching parallel and alternate timelines, meaning if he was, for example, asked a question and said no, another timeline would be created where he said yes, and so on. The cutscene you see when you finish the Origins easter egg is actually one of the timelines Richtofen found, which was young Samantha and a incarnation of Richtofen. Richtofen want to protect both these children and so started killing every version of himself on every timeline, to change the outcome of the future. The rest of the crew, Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki, found out about this and tries to stop Richtofen by traveling to the 1.0 timeline just after 1.0 Richtofen trapped 1.0 Maxis and 1.0 Samantha in the teleporter. 2.0 Tank, Nikolai, and Takeo tell 1.0 Richtofen that he must awaken the 1.0 versions of themselves. But Richtofen ignores them and activates the teleporter, with 2.0 Richtofen appearing inside of it. The 2.0 Richtofen immediately kills 1.0 Richtofen, which meant that almost everything that happened up to Buried in the 1.0 timeline, never happened since 1.0 Richtofen never existed long enough for all those chain of events to happen. The rest of the 2.0 crew are unhappy with 2.0 Richtofen for changing history, but 2.0 Richtofen says he must do what must be done to ensure a better future. And so they continue on their journey, collecting their 1.0 version souls, and the 1.0 timeline never happening, in order to create a better future.
TL;DR Basically the characters from BO3 are killing their original timeline version to collect their souls and changing the future into something better.

Yep, the Golden Rod ended up in CotD because it was brought there by German scientists before the boat crashed (I think, I need to watch the CotD video trailers again), the same German scientists who had it in sent to the moon in Der Eisendrache. Although they were doing different research.

seperate universe basicly from nacht to buried was v1 of the story then origins to now is a v2 of the story and they happen to over lap
They are the same characters but from an alternate universe where they find richtophen with knowlegde of all of the universes and how to fix them and they travel throughout space and time to kill all of the characters mostly richtophen from the first universe or the 1.0 characters because if they don't trap their souls in the summoning key, the 115 zombie cycle won't end
