  • We are excited to bring you the second build video of our solar electric pontoon boat project! In this video we go through the process of making the adapter plate between the Mercury outboard motor and the electric motor. At the end you can see the motor spin up as we test it on the bench before it gets installed on the boat. Check out our first video if you missed it, where we talk about our competition with Zac and Jesse from @NowYouKnowChannel, the pontoon we chose for our conversion and all the components. We are using 5, BigBattery Raptor2 modules in this build (see affiliate links below!). The RAPTOR 2 was designed with safety, longevity, and visibility in mind. Not only does this battery come equipped with Tier 1 LFP cells, the safest chemistry on the market today, along with a state-of-the-art BMS featuring an automatic cell-balancing function, and a fire suppression system, but all of these advanced components are housed in an IP65-rated, vibration-resistant casing so you can work hard and play harder. But it’s not enough just to know your power is secure. You should be able to see it firsthand, and the RAPTOR 2 makes this possible. With an external battery capacity meter, and full RS485 communication protocols, you can stay updated on the status and performance of your battery with just a glance.
