Thanks so much guys! My daughter and I just completed a new top install. We watched your video first and then followed the video step by step. We can't tell you how incredibly helpful you guys were. Thanks again!!
Thanks guys. Judging by the comments I got lucky and didn’t watch a load of other useless videos before getting to this one. All I need now is to find the time to get this done…
So how do you put the rain rail rubber thing in with the brackets? I put the rubber rail on the bottom of my soft top and put the rivets in and everything. I put the metal in but the washers won’t go on. Am I missing something?
Video has been super helpful throughout my whole setup but when it comes to re attaching the rain rail with the soft top is where I’m super confused because you don’t show it
Tip for those struggling with the tensioner cable after putting the new fabric on. Unbend a metal clothes hanger and feed it through from the spring side. Then tie dental floss to the tensioner cable and to the clothes hanger and pull the dental floss as you push the cable through.
no. the factory only uses rivets to make it easier to install. It has been installed by many with no rivets without any issues, as long as you make sure the rain rain is below the belt molding lip and if stud seals were required they were used correctly along with correct sequence of bolts torqued down
Gotta hand it to you man this is probably one of the only soft top install vid that actually shows you how to do the job.
Excellent "how to" video without some guy wasting my time telling his life story. Thank you!!
Watched it at least 10 different times, the only competent soft top video I could find, thanks a bunch for the video.

Your video just saved me. I’m installing a robbins top on my 92 and the instructions are super vague and leave a lot out. Thank you so much!
I’ve now used this video 3 times to install my soft top and help 2 friends change theirs, AMAZING VIDEO THANK YOU!!!
best video I seen of a replacement yet, thanks!!
Definitely the best video I’ve seen yet! Still a little intimidated
Best video on this I found, thanks !
CHEEEEEEAHHHHHHHHH

I fully agree. Great video!
Best vid on RUclips that I've found, just ordered a new soft top and will be using this as a guide for sure. Thanks fellas.
This video is dope. Really was a life saver. Made installing the top smooth. Thanks for making this

Thanks for this video. I just completed ours today. Couldnt have done it without you two
bro thank you, this video was so much easier to follow
Trying to tackle this tomorrow. Thanks for showing every step. No bs, gotta love it.
How'd your install go?
Thanks, this was super useful and to the point. Benchmark for how all instructional videos should be done!
Great video! I now know what to watch when I'm changing the top sometime this summer!
This was solid. Thank you. I'm going to try it. The only step you skipped is the one that everyone seems to fear.. attaching the rear section.
Brilliant video, followed every step, and it worked like a dream, thanks!
6 hours later
....
Done! 😅
Thank you for the tutorial 😁👌
4 hours for the tension cable 😅
Thanks for sharing! I wish there was some more detail at 15:41 sliding the 2 sections into the frame rail.
Really nice video guys! I’m from amsterdam and i think i’m gonna do it myself now i have seen this!
Great video. Shows all the steps nicely. Thanks.
Thanks guys. Judging by the comments I got lucky and didn’t watch a load of other useless videos before getting to this one. All I need now is to find the time to get this done…
im gonna make a video doing mine but just time laps and tell people to watch yours if they need a play by play cuz this is good

Thanks for the video! Great help!
thanks for the great instructions on swapping soft tops. took a long time but the end result is perfect.

Wish I knew exactly what bolt you used instead of the rivets
Please tell me which softop manufacturer yu used. The Robbins are very expensive.
What about the rivets?? Are the new ones not necessary?
What was the size bolts he used for the soft top to replace the Rivits?
I'm getting ready to put a Robbins top on. Does anyone know who the manufacture of this top is or if it's similar to the Robbins top.
is there any problem if you don’t feed the tension cable through the new top?
Awesome tutorial!
how many factory rivets did you need to replace with bolts?
what brand top did u use? website name? thanks for a great DIY miata top replacement video!
great video!
What brand is this top ! Will it last 5 years.
Good video with step by step
My rain rail has Rivets to the soft top. Does it need them? Can I just drill them off?
Needs it or u will have leaking top u can still drill rivets off just make sure to rivet it back on 😃
90 is next top still good,but I prefer ,glass,best
How do you line up the soft top with the rain rail?
Excellent video thank you
Making it a 2 man job helps, on my 3rd top, have to do it all myself.
what soft top did you buy?
THANKS
COOP
1993 "NA" MIATA Automatic Transmission

What did you do about all the rivets you removed?
It looks like he used bolts instead
What size ?
Did you ever reinstall the rain rail
Yeah, we did but I don’t think I got it on video. he either put it back on the same way it was attached before. I think it was originally riveted on

I’m going to order a new soft top next paycheck and attempt this. i am scared
which soft top is this
Not all heroes wear capes
How long does this all take ?
I think it took a realistic 2 hours to do it all
@@Dice_weiss Thanks so much !! I've a 1999 MX5 , my brother is hopefully replacing my top tomorrow 🤞🤞
@@jackiekanngiesser7315 hope it goes well!
Super job thanks
The damn top wont close in the front... Any suggestion?
leather will stretch over time but until then have someone help you close it and adjust the latches to make it easier to close
Thanks bro
Got to think I’m going to pull the seats when I do it.
I pulled my passenger seat, left in the UK, to make access a bit easier, oddly despite being left handed the drivers side seat was not a big issue.
Good 👍 Content
How does it look with the top down ? Does the retracted top lie flat ? Those fitted glass tops don't work, do they ?
Rain rail is attached to soft top with rivets. You will have leaks.

This can all be done with the top on the car, you don't need to kneel on the floor. Plus you save a lot of unscrewing.
Any video ?

Can I pay you guys to do it lol
It's not necessary to remove the seat belt bolt.
Tarp needed

Saw the 500 tools showns and not needed i. The slightest and clicked off the video.
If you already know what tools are needed or not why the fuck did you come here in the first place? You're already the expert.
