Wow. That was amazing. I think this is the record for Garibaldi. This is one of my all time favorite games. Played the heck out of it in college, just got back into my PS2 and was playing this today. My high score is 2.8 million. You did some crazy moves, did some tricks I was not aware of, and ended it with 0.01 seconds. Amazing!!!
there's next to no video of any top scores. scores over 4 million have been claimed on this map, but no videos exist anymore here's the closest thing, a 3.4 million by AverageTrey from 2020: ruclips.net/video/Ly-tRypLxXc/видео.html and here's one from me, but this video isn't good enough as proof anymore, a 3.5 million from 2018: ruclips.net/video/QSiliu05xtM/видео.html
I can tell you glitched the game sounds with resetting back on the track from a wormhole, and it did that godly *Aaahhh* sound like a hundred times in half a second resetting back to the track somewhere 😅😅
Intentionally throttling the game performance, save states, and recording and playing back controller input. All tools are provided by Dolphin, my emulator
@@kelecat7094 Thanks for the reply! I always imagined you would do this sort of thing using a bot for some reason, but controller input playback makes more sense. Still pretty crazy that you had to set up stuff like that hill bounce at 1:01. I tried that and it seems very precise
@@AverageEBSam I actually happen to have the case for my original Gamecube copy of Tricky at my place, as well as the disc for SSX 3! Both are still around from when my parents first bought the games for me circa 2005. The Tricky disc + SSX 3 case were both lost at some point when my family was moving house, though. This, combined with my Gamecube being sold and my Wii breaking, meant that I had to use emulators to play these games again.
gravity on rails works slightly different than solid ground, so you can easily backtrack on rails with the right amount of boost & speed. (I think it's been fixed on SSX On Tour, I haven't tried it yet but done it plenty of times on SSX3)
@@EchoMacahig-q9b if u mean the warp back to that spot, that's unfortunately a very finicky trick that's not understood well - but generally, trying to land as far to the right as possible on that 5x (from where I'm jumping in this video) should give that warp since it's *slightly* earlier in the track than landing to the left
TAS?? So in order to do a highest score in this game... you change some of the rules of this game right?? Like you don't get wreck on other obstacles like ROCK, Rails & base on I've notice you can easily go back on the track you've passed. Unbelievable gameplay but it's better to do this kind of Gameplay without any modifications on it
I think it's better to do this without modification too - that's why this run has no mods. The game really just lets you hit rocks and other props in a way that gives extra airtime for more points... it's just really hard to do it, especially when getting as many points as this run does. You have to hit the rocks and stuff quite softly so that you don't bail. Also, rails don't hurt you on this track like they do in Snowdream, Elysium Alps, or Mesablanca. I don't know why that's the case, but they just don't work that way, even on original console
you can save anywhere you want like you can save the game before red flake and if you didn't get it then you can try as many time as you want from there where you save
@@DeadSparko a route change, feasible in both humane and TAS runs. Should push the score cap from Rashid's ~6.3 (video's gone since his channel got deleted) to as much as 6.4? Other stuff might also be possible to push 6.5.
