- Me, Gina and Isaac all went away this year to Tunisia and stayed at Venus Beach, Hammamet by Magic Hotels, here is some of our holiday and below is also my review on the hotel its-self.

In this video I try to cover the splash park, the rooms, the food and the other activities you can find at the hotel.
Below is my review on the whole holiday that I left on the First Choice (TUI) website:
I shall take this from the start, following ourselves falling foul on our last family holiday due to the collapse of Low Cost Holidays, we thought it best to book with an ABTA agent and visited your store in Warrington, the agent was very helpful and spent time with us to ensure that this holiday would be perfect.
We got to the airport, MAN, and although it was a little chaotic and security was a complete shambles also not forgetting the fact that the gate also had no seating for the passengers due to Manchester Airport removing the seats in favor of another overpriced coffee shop didn't dampen our mood too much.
We got on the plane and the attentive crew greeted us and our little boy got to meet the gentleman who in his words, "work in the pointy end" of the plane made his day by getting to wear the captains hat!
The flight went smoothly and promptly got us to the hot African sun of Tunisia, alas with a glitch, on board the plane there were no visa entry forms so carnage ensured as 3 flights all arrived within moments to Enfida Airport and each passenger needing the green cards to enter the country causing passengers to flap like crazy looking for pens, getting details from passports all while children and the like all slowly cook in the hot terminal while all this unfolded.
Moving onto the baggage carousels, it also became apparent that the very same flights all had their baggage placed onto the same carousel belt resulting in yet another delay where our baggage took 90 minutes from clearing passport control to retrieve.
Now I understand that the airports are beyond the scope of First Choice, but I feel that attention should be drawn to the woes which the First Choice passengers endure as the airports are the starting and end points of which all holiday makers undergo and also may set the mood for the holiday unfairly.
Now shooting forward to Splashworld Venus Beach, we dropped our bags off, got a nice welcome drink cocktail and quickly got checked in and got into our fantastic sea view room, when I say fantastic, both me and my wife thought it could have been the best room in the hotel.
Seriously it felt like winning the lottery, getting this amazing room and the stunning view all after being caught by Low Cost holiday collapse, getting treated like this we truly felt blessed.
Now I could honestly go on and on forever describing how great the hotel was, how amazing the animation team were, just how clean the hotel is and just how friendly every single employee was out there, not forgetting the positive reassuring sense of security following the tragedy that fell upon the Tunisia during the shooting several years ago and the hard times that must have affected a whole country, that appears so dependent on tourism fall back several years, however none of the worry was in our minds after seeing how they, as a country have really stepped upto the plate to protect everyone.
Honestly, I cannot fault the hotel one bit, I could see how the menu could aggrieve some customers as I would sum it up as a child biased hotel with kiddy type of food, while there is a large selection on offer, the bulk of which is defiantly aimed to the smaller, younger holiday makers amd after all, family holidays to me are all about the children making memories for the future and if there happy eating pasta and chips every day then I'm all for it! So in summary for me there is no issues there, as there is always plenty of hot tasty food on offer and regardless of your pallette, there will always be something to eat.
Finally mentioning the pools (the main attraction of the hotel) there is a huge amount of life guards on duty (who all love their whistles!) but they reinforce just how customer centric driven the hotel is, always putting the guests first!
Would I go again.....

The only question is, how do we get the same room every year!

Outstanding video mate fair play, I booked today after watching this. You did a great job, not sure if you are still active on here but was just wondering if you had to pay for much in the hotel? As you said you needed to pay for the ice-cream, was wondering if there was other areas you had to maybe pay for drinks or food? Appreciate any reply mate 😊
Cheers, glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment, hopefully when you go you'll enjoy it just as much as we did. In fact, we've rebooked go again this year and this will make it our third visit to the hotel, the last time being in '22.
(I had recorded more footage to do another review video, however, sadly I lost most of it due to a computer issue so never made a repeat visit to the video review).
(Solely based on our last visit in)
As for paying for more things, there was a chargeable a la carte restaurant that offered a different menu to what was available in the main restaurants however, for many this may not be needed, The premium ice creams were still chargeable and any activities you wish to do on the beach were also additional cost (things like a paragliding or riding an inflatable banana boat) sun loungers are free.
There is also a gym and some therapy treatments like massages that are additional costs also, but for the most part the hotel is fully all-inclusive and all drinks at the bars in the main restaurant and at the beach hut are all included as is the food.

Only wish I went to this hotel instead of mehari in Hammamet but next time if I go Tunisia, splash world wil be my first choice.

Yes they do, however there is a better selection found just up the road from the hotel, only a 5 minute walk out the gates, right at the roundabout and another 300 meters up the road

Great video we are going next year. Can I ask my mother in law struggles walking is there separate buildings? Is there a lift? We are coming as a party of 6 so hoping we get a room next to each other

Yes there are some separate buildings, if however you are in the main complex then those rooms do have some lifts, in a simpler way, if you want a sea view room, those do not have any lifts but most of the pool view rooms do.
The best thing to do is on your arrival, ask the manager if your rooms are accessible by lift and they should be able to help sort you out
Hopefully your trip is still going ahead for you this year and you never know, I may even see you out there also (again if travel is allowed) fingers crossed for everyone!

Cracking video. We fly here in August 2019 and will be spending my sons 10th birthday there!! Did I hear right that ICE CREAM is chargeable for ALL INCLUSIVE guests? Great video and commentary though 👍👍
Apologies I missed your comment, there is free ice cream in basic limited flavours (vanilla, chocolate, mint), however this is only within the restaurant, the outdoor one (near the stage) serves the more fancy type and many more flavours but this is charged for (currently about 90p each) if i remember correctly 🤔

Hi just been watching your vlog as were thinking of going here my husband was asking what camera you have as its fab quality
The talking to camera bits were on my mobile phone while mounted to a DJI Osmo mobile gimbal
The waterpark bits were all recorded on a GoPro H5
The close up bits were recorded on a Nikon D5200 (although its old now)
Great video I’ve just got a few questions for you.
1. What flavours of ice cream did they do that were all inclusive?
2. Were there any paddle boats and if so how much did they cost?
From what I can recall, the inclusive ice creams from the restaurant was either chocolate, strawberry or vanilla, sometimes there was also mint, but just the typical, what I'd call base flavors were included.
The pedal boat cost, I'm sorry to say I don't know off hand but I'll update if I find something on an old photo. (however this would be from last year so may very well have changed by now)
What I recall is its not overly expensive, and maybe the jetski was in the 35 dinar price range

No not at all, the entrance to the splash park is about 100m from the main hotel reception and the main block is about 225m from the sea!

So we are now looking to Cape verde.. Itsnt not a question of, will we travel there, we will - my girlfriend is from there, but WHEN we will, that is up for discussion.. :)

As I was saying this in the video you can get the portable wifi box preloaded with this for 100dinar (£30 gbp)
Compared to the UK this is very cheap considering what you get and that most UK networks would charge £6 (19 dinar) per 1mb!
So for the same 25gb on a UK plan, it would be £153,000 gbp or converted 510,000 tunisian Dinar!!
(yes you did read thar right) 25gb is the same price as a UK house!! 😲

Great, hope you enjoy your holiday! Regarding the photographer, he charges depending on how many photos you like and wish to keep, as I had my camera gear with us he did us a package deal and popped them all (including other ones from around the resort) onto a USB stick for around £30 UK

Great Vlog mate, thinking of going here in October, is there age/heights restrictions on the waterslides?
The only height restrictions you could say were down to the lifeguards on duty, they would be watching out for young children to make sure that they were not allowed on the larger flumes on their own, but were allowing them to go down in pairs (on figure of eight inflatables) but like wise the older children and adults were stopped from sliding on the kiddies splash slide zone equipment.

Unfortunately no. We were planning to visit in 2020, but for obvious reasons that didn't go ahead and the same also 2021, we are hoping our visit this year goes ahead however 🤞

There's a selection of fruit juices, water, coffee and tea, although not generally on offer is also fizzy drinks, alcohol is served in the main restaurant, but only lunchtime onwards

@@harrybower5670 there a bit of a mix, there are a few you could call quick but as most use an inflatable ring, these do change how fast the slides are

@@sharonabenisty Hi Sharona, I am currently editing a second video however to answer your question.
The free WiFi in the hotel is much better as the free WiFi now reaches most of the rooms!
Also the swimming pools have been relined recently, so I would advise to take aqua shoes with you for use in the pool to save your children's feet.
If you don't want to use aqua shoes, then ankle socks are just as good but will wear out as the pool base is like sand paper currently
