    So if you're changing the bar weight from 50-60% down to 30-40% what should the accommodating resistance (bands/chains) be at?

    • @tokkiev.3234
      @tokkiev.3234 5 лет назад +3

      I think it was either 25% or 15%. But I think the best way is to just grap a light band and from there add weight. And if you're a strong lifter get a bigger band.

      I don't understand these comments.
      Matt is a world class level accomplished powerlifter and he gets into working out and speaking his knowledge.
      I take it as passion and enthusiasm, watching him be confident and strong doesn't hurt my ego or make me insecure like it seems to in these commenters.
      Is he supposed to be zen like a super relax and about to doze off pushing these weights, what do you want? You want him to be an ancient sage and be able to lift max weight without even blinking ? Does he need to be a kung fu or anime hero for you?

    Hi Matt,
    I'm wondering why you aren't measuring your speed with a TENDO Unit or any other device.
    Any specific reason for that? Do you just "feel" - due to experience - if you're fast enough for i.e. explosivness, speed-strength etc.?
    Thanks in advance.
    Wish you an energetic day.
    Best Regards from Germany,
    Bernd

    What is the point of speed work?

    • @LoftyProduction
      @LoftyProduction 4 года назад +1

      Its for athletes predominantly. Their movement patterns need to reflect what they do on the field. If you are diving into people and pushing them out the way, grappling etc, this replicates it. However, it is also useful for increasing your bench press if you find yourself at a certain sticking point.

    • @BrendanCBreen
      @BrendanCBreen 5 лет назад +3

      A loaded 60,000 lbs. dump truck going 5mph would have a "momentum" of close to 61,000 kg-m/s. A 50g .50 cal bullet going 2,828 f/s would be around 43 kg-m/s.. I don't think momentum is what he's alluding to...

      Ive been at it for 11 weeks now (w/ and w/o bands), and it's definitely drastically helped my my main lifts. Maybe going too heavy perhaps or with too much band tension/chain weight. Ive been guilty of that 2nd one (too much tension).

      10x3 on dynamic day upper rotating through Duffalo Bar and straight bar w light band. Usually worked w 185 lb bar weight moving very fast and explosive. Max was 445 btw.. didn’t help my bench in any way shape or form

    • @Lifthead

      And lower body dynamic day working w Duffalo Bar box squat right at parallel w average bands. Usually w around 225-275 bar weight 10x2. Raw squat was 600. Again, did nothing.
