Dear Mr Simon, am a Communication Student, I was taught that in the Communication cycle the most important element is the receiver. It does not matter how eloquent I am as a communicator, but if the receiver does not understand what am communicating then I have failed as a communicator. So, as comunictors, professionally we can never blame the audience for how they interprete the message, its our task as comunicators to put in practice the 3 C's that is being Clear, Concise and Consistent. I have listened to your analysis but it all points to the fact that the sender (comunicator) was not clear hence the diversity in interpretation by the receivers including youself as a receiver. So, we cant blame the receivers for studying the context and intepreting Mr Mpuuga's message their way just like how you have interpreted it your way
