Transformer currents & energy losses (intuition) | A.C. | Physics | Khan Academy

  • This video visualizes the counter intuitive phenomenon of the transformers, when voltage is stepped up, the current gets stepped down. This is a consequence of energy conservation. Transformers work on the principle of electromagnetic induction - mutual induction. Power line transmission requires both step up and step down transformers.

    • @kozmiking8825

  • @NEVERMIND811
    @NEVERMIND811 2 года назад

    6:12 If the second transformer is removed and the 1000V is connected directly to the circuit containing the bulb (just as an instance), would Ohm's law still not work? If the law will hold then increasing voltage by increasing the number of turns in the number of turns in the secondary circuit of the first transformer would in essence decrease the current in the secondary circuit containing the bulb (again violating Ohm's law). So how do you explain that?
