I always felt Amnesiac was underrated. I don't think it's Kid A leftovers. It has its own vibe and character completely separate from Kid A, more alien, more alone.
Amnesiac is an absolute masterpiece. Kid A had the advantage of being released first and mindfucking everyone, but I think Amnesiac pushes the whole dystopian euphoria vision even further, propelled by Kid's fresh momentum. It's so alien and transcendent and wiggly and perfect, standing tall and proud and somehow completely coherent, side by side with the Kid, not behind it.
All these songs (except Life in a Glasshouse) were recorded in the same sessions as Kid A. To my knowledge, they weren’t left off because the band thought they lacked in quality but because they decided against making the songs into a double album.
Splitting the double album with a year was the wise choice. Gave us time to digest, process, adapt, ruminate, before slapping us around with the other hand.
Found Love for Radiohead through Bjork! She recruited Thom to Iceland to record an album version if "Ive seen it all" from her Selma Songs. (You know, the Soundtrack from Dancer in the Dark that will meld any Man into the Mother Loving Boy that dwells inside them.) In a later interview, Thom reflects how inpired he was by the care and effort Bjork gives to her instrument. The morning of the recording he rose to hearing her working through vocal exercises, warming up her vocal cords. Thom says that since then he has mhch mire resoect fir his instrument and gies through exercises as well. Muuusic! Thanks Grump for your great content! MP
Non capisco gli hater che hanno il coraggio di parlare male di te, sei un grande e onestamente non me ne frega un cazzo di cosa pensa la gente di te. Rimani uno dei più originali amanti di musica in vinile che conosco su RUclips. Massima stima for you Old Man. Can only learn from you. I know people won't get what I said but I know that you will do. Saluti dall'Italia roccia! Continua cosi!
i know this is an old video and you probably won't see this but kid a and amnesiac are both connected and amnesiac is kind of like part two fo kid a. the a in kid a stands for amnesiac it's basically a double album that's two sides were lost as birth
Funny this is still up. Amnesiac was the first Radiohead album I downloaded on Napster when that was a thing. I believe Kid A was leaked too. I have since bought the real thing. The only Radiohead album I never bought was Hail to the thief
Good call on "You and Whose Army" bleeding into "Karma Police". Never made that connection before. I love to mix tracks together (just as a hobby thing). The pair I always think of between those albums is that "Knives Out" bleeds well into "Paranoid Android".
I love your pronunciation of the title. Amnegiac. That's what I'm calling it from now on. I'm French-Canadian, and I'm shocked you're not, based on your accent.
I'm late to the party on this one and need to catch up! I agree with you on past references to bongo, because of Pablo honey. Bono is a pretentious twat while Thom is more of an artist that would probably feel more comfortable out of sight! After Pablo Thom and the band went to go see Jeff Buckley in a show in Britain and he claims to have had an epiphany towards his vocalizations. It was Jeff and a telecaster guitar, no band! Well I thought that was interesting to hear why he changed and continues to change
funny you mention aphex twin, because thom is a huge aphex and autechre fan. for more of that, you're gonna wanna dive into his solo work (news flash: it's fucking incredible stuff, esp the eraser, atoms for peace, and anima)
Great show! So I may be alone, but I really think that "You and who's Army" would match perfectly in a Quentin Tarantino film. It seems the correct amount of slow, and moody to getting faster and hopeful. That's just me though.
I dig how this album is athiest, specifically anti-christian. With lyrics like "After years of waiting nothing came" "You and your cronies/ holy Roman empire" "He's not coming back"
i'm sooooo sad Kid A can't be found anymore. but this has alwas been to me like the "B-side" of it, and i see that you are truly enjoying it too. i knew from the sight of your reaction to ok computer that you would fall in love for these two albums. they are so incredible ! it was a fucking kick in the anthill, when they came up. i wish i could get back to when i heard them for the first time over and over
I think Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors somewhat damaged the flow of the album. Amnesiac is amazing, but I think this song is a non rarely reason, why many people rank this album rather low

I prefer it to kid a
It's decidedly and awesomely anti-xtian/religious
I wish they didn't drop their original idea of releasing it as a double album.
Kid Amnesiac would have been insane
amnesiac is fantastic. frankly all of the radiohead albums are
Radiohead sound good even at 800% slower, as evidenced by all the RUclips videos of their slowed down tracks :)
All these songs (except Life in a Glasshouse) were recorded in the same sessions as Kid A. To my knowledge, they weren’t left off because the band thought they lacked in quality but because they decided against making the songs into a double album.
until now, when they just did lol :D
@@jack_rabbit Kid A Mnesia is more of a triple album lmao

Seems Like youtube didn't took it down after all! Un bonjour du Québec!!!
Salut toé
"Stay inside, ya fuckhead!" I think I'm in love.
Packt Like Sardines In a Crushd Tin Box slowed sounds freaking good
Nice!

Ho tutto capito. Mille grazie.
Glad we still have this one!
when i heard it playing slowly at first i started giggling audibly

Are you sure the a is for amnesiac? I think that just did the Kid Amnesiac thing for the anniversary
Funny this is still up. Amnesiac was the first Radiohead album I downloaded on Napster when that was a thing. I believe Kid A was leaked too. I have since bought the real thing. The only Radiohead album I never bought was Hail to the thief
Yup! Some of the original vids got unblocked so we cleaned up the thumbnail and put em up again.
Music, the most social and totally legal drug out there.

Dude electro rdiohead is the shwarma.
Amnesiac is my favorite.

Funnily, I've heard people pronunciate Amnesiac in several ways:
-Amnegiac
-Amneeziac (The way I am pronouncing it)
- Amnehziac
You are right ❤😂yess
Life in a Glasshouse is the only song that doesn't have another song throughout their entire discography that sounds like it. It stands alone
Arguably... maybe "the Daily Mail". It's a maybe. They're both wonderful, anyway.
how about we suck young blood...
Wolf at the door
A lot of Radiohead songs don't have another song that sounds like them. The vast majority I'd say.
Climbing up the walls

I remember was used on the opening scene of that movie Incendies, that caught me off of guard.
It’s in the show Peaky Blinders along with 3 or 4 other Radiohead songs including pyramid song and life in a glasshouse. They fit so perfectly
2:05:45 u should listen 2 ROUTE OBE by sigur ros
can you please upload your reaction of thom yorkes eraser without the songs?
Wait a minute. Are you doing this out of Montreal??
Uh huh. On live, right now in fact

I dig how this album is athiest, specifically anti-christian. With lyrics like
"After years of waiting nothing came"
"You and your cronies/ holy Roman empire"
"He's not coming back"
He may sound like a mush mouth, but at least he doesn't sound like bongo.
It's not out takes.. more they had lots of material I think.?
Do this with porcupine tree albums !
I was vining so hard!!!!!!! It sounds good slow honestly
You like Radiohead don’t you

The Bends, is one of their best 👍
Well... the rant at the beginning hasn't aged well...
Pyramid Song is the $@!/
His views on Covid did not age well. Did he say the same about BLM riot marches?
KID B sure is good
I think Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors somewhat damaged the flow of the album.
