I was curious who was going to do the narration in this. I'm really glad Nathaniel is getting more comfortable with the camera. As a dad of a son around his age, it's been fun watching him grow through this channel. He's got some great skills!
Thank you! Yeah I was glad to see him finally speak. I’ve just got to remember to get out of his way now that we’re filming together again back home here. 😅
I love it. I did fenders like this in the early 90s. 75 Monza 262 4sp. Welded rod on just like you are doing. Taped cardboard to hold shape, and then laid fiberglass. had full rear fenders and transition onto doors. Never built the fronts. I cut slots in the hatch surface through to the inside. Then we welded steel sheets thru the hatch to the underside/inside where it tapers. Then we bent the plate back vertical and welded tube and bar to make the wing shape and glassed that. Was pretty close in scale/size to a Dekon phase 4 wing. Dekon 1011 / Chris Cord's #19 was my inspiration. Ran out of money and garage but drove with that raw fiberglass and primer for quite a while.
Great job, Nathanial! Great to hear you doing the speaking. Who wants to listen to your Dad yammer all the time?! 😉 Thanks to Shawn for the mentorship here!
Hey Nathaniel your really doing well I'm glad your enjoying the mods your doing with sheet metal making body panels ..Dad your son has a talent hidden inside of him that's really showing.. It's great to hear him talk about what he's going to do and how he's going to do it... I think Dad you have a very SPECIAL son that's just like his Dad inside of him... I think your a warm hearted Dad to help your son achieve this goal ... I will keep watching your channel I really like the Father and son duo from the start.. HAPPY NEW YEARS to you and your son from your friend THE BANDIT AKA BOB from Illinois..... ✌️
You going to make it with the white body and red and blue stripes like the Mirage and one of the Race cars? It was red white and blue to commemorate the Bicentennial in 1976.
Any chance you could hjelp me measure the outside width of the C4 Corvette frame in the seating area? I am seriously considering doing the same on MY 74’ Vega Wagon, but living in Norway Corvette is not a very common car to find in pices to measure. Thanks in advance.
Great project guys. I definitely will be watching these videos as they come out. I know Ken said this video is a little old so this advice I'm about offer is a little late for this project, but I'll share it for those who might work on similar projects. Always always always wear a quality mask (filtered respirator with a seal to the face is preferred) when working with fiberglass. The glass particulates as well as the resin dust can irritate the respiratory system and depending on the amount of exposure could result in serious issues later. Not all fiberglass work is hazardous, like laying fiberglass for body repair or molds isn't risky. Cutting fibreglass with a sawsall or a cutoff wheel releases microscopic particulates into the air. Not to mention the various chemicals that are used in these cars. Just my two-cents spoken from a position of care, not meant to be taken any other way.

That’s amazing! Would love to see pictures if you have any. 😃

Appreciate that very much, Bob. Thank you 🙏🏻
Great job! It’s going to be so cool looking when you’re done
Awesome ideas. Enjoy the work on this
He's a regular "metal" sculptor! Rock on
I'm enjoying the video. The progress made.
It's neat to have a vision and pursue a goal. One of the main aspects of life.
A lot of cutting, how many saw blades did you go through?
Too many to count! 😩
Cool! Corvza.
Or the ULTIMATE Monza Mirage. Lol

We had a reveal video a few weeks ago with a rendering. That will explain our wild paint scheme idea. 😉

Sure. Will do when I’m back out there tomorrow. 👍🏻
I know there’s a lot of corvette/monza morph name suggestions. I was thinking something to coincide with Nathaniel’s learning and growing experience….
Yeah I like that. There’s a lot of meaning involved
Love it!!!
I think more monza. Less. Corvette

I miss my monza!
