Her calling the neko "it" and some"thing" isnt giving me a lot of warm fuzzy feelings tbh. Not that im complaining, thats got some good potential for plot actually. The speaker learning that just because the neko likes being a pet doesnt make them not a person.
I was going for clueless vibes so I thought a little bit of accidental insensitivity could help with setting the stage for character growth, haha. Also avoiding pronouns is hard sometimes 😮💨
That makes sense, everyone loves good character growth. Also i cant tell if you already know this or not so, most people tend to use they/them as gender neutral pronouns(so far as i know im not gender neutral or fluid but i am trans so i like to think ive managed to stay on top of polite pronouns for the most part) so if youre looking to avoid applying a gender to characters, those are a solid bet
