As a bama fan I have to say this was the most entartaining game of the season to me. Great game both teams fought hard and wanted to win. I wish my crimson tide would play more qaulity teams like this instead of teams like new Mexico state we have a lot of things we need to work on before we go up against lsu this year. Going to be an actual challenge winning the west this year makes it much more exciting.
Yeah, played Texas and almost lost last season too. Though i believe you guys will do a lot better this season. As a Clemson fan I have nothing but respect for all teams even the ones who suck
Amazing how Joe improved from this game to last games. He never missed his receivers at the end of the season. He did not miss many this game but as the season went on his passing got so accurate. I woukd have loved to have him as a high school QB. I played receiver n never missed a pass but our QB just threw the ball up n let me run to it. He was smart n his decissions but not a good passer or I would have played college ball. God Bless n off to next game!!
Texas defense were not the problem. Texas bad coaching and not getting points. Texas get the points they win the game. 3 points is better than no points.
Two point conversion at the end was a similar play against Georgia Southern last week where Marshall scored except this time play goes to Chase opposite site. Texas DB covering Chase doesn't even try. nice coaching by LSU to set this up!.

I would assume a school like Ohio State would be called DBU, considering they've had a DB go in the first round the past 5 or 6 years straight. oh, and they actually do good in the NFL lmao
Texas was the original DBU back in the day as USC was RBU and Penn St. Was LBU. But if its a pass the Crown type of thing, I think LSU would be DBU right now, but Texas did sign the best DB class ever in 2018 so maybe they'll get it back.
LSU obviously decided that holding Eagles was their best strategy. They got multiple PIs doing it, but it strung out the drives and the big PI on the bomb to Eagles resulted in a FG instead of quick TD. 2 great teams, really. It's going to be hard to beat LSU this year. I think even Alabama will have a very tough time assuming Burrows is healthy, of course. Same with Texas. As long as Sam E is healthy, and now that the offense knows that Eagles is a true downfield threat, then Texas will score in bunches all year long. Too bad Texas is limited at RB.
Texas is a tough stadium to play in and definitely has some home field advantage. I don’t understand why you would want to play Oklahoma on a neutral field. I think that has helped OU more than it helps Texas. You should try a 4 game home and home series.
D A hats not what I said dick head! I said you you would be better off playing a home and home series because Longhorn stadium is a tough atmosphere for a visiting team. Texas is Oklahoma’s bitch. I don’t watch because the best football is played in the SEC. I’m from Texas and hate watching Oklahoma beat them every year.
Honestly, Todd Orlando should’ve been fired after this game. Absolutely shit the bed when it mattered, and didn’t even take responsibility for it. Horrible coach, glad he’s gone.

Ronnie Civella that’s just nonsense if you actually believe that, they played LSU better than anyone while dealing with more injuries than probably any other team in the nation. They’ve proven that when healthy they can compete with the best, a few bad years doesn’t take away all the success they’ve had and will have.
@@dharrisoftroy That Auburn gave was deceiving LSU made mistakes after mistake and got stopped in the redzone at least 4 times. Score was close but if you watched LSU controlled it big time.
this was a great game. i was hoping texas would win, maybe that would've given them the momentum to win the big 12. it’s a long season, though and hopefully they will win a fair amount of games. and i’m pulling for lsu in the sec, i am tired of alabama v clemson lol
Meh..winning this game would have been great for Texas, but this young Texas team went on to have an injury riddled season specifically in the secondary where they were real young. I don't see them winning the Big12 as banged up as they were. When healthy in the bowl game they dismantled #11 Utah
The talent is there for Texas to have an excellent top 5 kind of defense, but I think there was a disconnect between the young defense and the defense coordinator. Burrow killed them every time they tried to blitz. The b12 isn’t very good on defense as a whole, but Texas have been a huge exception to the rule.
This was the longhorns' entire season. This game mattered more than OU because it was a referendum on texas in terms of being able to play with and beat the SEC's best at home. The longhorns wanted this game more than they did any other game on the schedule. They played their very best that night against LSU. It wasn't enough, and it was when LSU was at their weakest all season. Scary what a rematch would have looked like in the Sugar Bowl had LSU lost a game in the regular season.
Honestly the Auburn game was the toughest of the year. BUT Texas is a very close 2nd. And in my opinion LSU vs. Texas was the most exciting game of the year in college football this past year. Maybe im biased but the energy, electricity of that Texas stadium was very loud and the shear talent of both teams were on display. Losing this game hurt Texas bad going forward. They are a much better team than their final record. But at the same time if our defense would have came together early on in the season, like they did in the last couple game of the season and the playoffs, then it wouldnt have even been close. Plus we had a few guys playing injured. Fulton nor Delpit was 100% for this game and a few others. No excuses but i think we can all agree that the final product of LSU's defense this past year was on a very high level and could possibly be argued that we had the best defense in the league also.
@@mattsmith2656 None gives a shit about the SEC. Texas is a pretty good team when: A. Healthy and B. Not shooting themselves in the foot. After this game, the health of Texas went to absolute shit. By the time we played OU, All but one of our starting DB's were injured and our offense was missing key players. If you look at Texas's score spread for the last 3 years, its been very consistent with this game final score. If anything, LSU was lucky our defense replaced 9 starters from last year. All 10 of 11 players being freshmen and sophomores. On top of that being your offense was brand new, we basically had zero film to go by.

TEXAS is 2nd tier program. Only 1 National Championship since 1970. Turn off AC in LSU locker room at halftime and complain about LSU players cramping/spasms on turf. Texas can't beat OU or A&M in recruiting the state. Oregon, BAMA, LSU, CLEMSON and GEORGIA are loaded. OU has a Qb who couldn't complete an Arizona HS season against Texas 3A talent.
Throw in the spread and rules that completely favor the offense. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if a team has a bad defense or the other team just has a great offense.
Alabama has been overrated all season long, and LSU's win over Alabama and Texas were highly overrated by ESPN's crowd. The Buckeyes are the best team this season and #1, and Justin Fields should win the Heisman trophy if they beat Wisconsin next week. He has as many TDs as Burrow, at half the passing attempts [that is more efficient] with 1 interception so far, and he played only half games most of the season. If Ryan Day let him play 3 quarters in each game, he could have had more passing TDs, but he did not Ohio State also has another great and worthy player, Chase Young, who is also worthy of the trophy. Unlike QBs who rely on an army of Offensive Line and Receivers to build their resume, Chase Young relies on nobody in building his, just his skills, talents and muscles to wreak havoc on opposing teams, which is 10 times harder than what any QB does. Even when they double-team against him, he still strikes fear in QBs minds and let other Buckeyes of the Defensive Line do damage. The Buckeyes are the worthy #1 team this season, all season long.
The “cramping” tigers were lucky Ingram dropped that touchdown in the first quarter. The real score should’ve been 45-45 before the horns beat you in overtime.
