Been developing Android apps for 2 years but the market is tough for it and frontend in general in my country right now, so at least my knowledge of Java & Kotlin should help. I have still not parted ways with Android, maybe I'll do freelancing with Spring + Android someday if I decide to switch to Spring. Big thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately I am having massive trouble with the jpa using spring boot 3. Unable to determine Dialect without JDBC metadata (please set 'jakarta.persistence.jdbc.url' for common cases or 'hibernate.dialect' when a custom Dialect implementation must be provided). Is there a good solution. Please pardon if this is asked poorly, but I am primarily a .net dev.

Yes IntelliJ is your best bet. I use pro edition in this video. You can also use VSCode but it’s terrible. Never seen Java in VS before but it might be possible.

Hey I have a question! Do we use spring as a backend with another frontend technology like react or do we build the whole application in a single stack aka in spring mvc?
Mostly considering the real world usage...
I'm asking this mainly because most of the tutorials I have came across teaches creating views also to render html on frontend, but since I'm from react background, that astonishes me why nobody's using a separate frontend? Isn't it how stuff works?

I love your teaching style! :) I need tiny advice... Should I choose Java or C#? I mean, I want to learn basics from you, is Java "path" more complete? I know c# and java on a similar level, my goal is to get my first dev job(before I was QA). Thanks =)

Depends. C# is easier to get a job in, but Java is where most of the startups are because of microservices. You want money and secure job = C#. You want a higher barrier to entry but the ability to work at top tier tech = Java. (This is my opinion so better to just look at jobs in your area).

Instead of IntelliJ, you use PG Admin. Pretty much the same you just have to separate windows.

14:43 has no dbo schemas and the 14:48 has multiple schemas mentioned. Did you miss mentioning any configuration? Later in the course , the hibernate queries dont pick up any records from the table. Following you exactly step by step. Let me know.
