How do you remove the cam shaft cog, I am just about to swap over to a different cog, one that allows you to replace the gasket behind this cog, but, the parts i need to swap over shows 5 bolt holes rather than 4, also the cam shaft cog also differs, rather than the 6 small holes, you have a cog like a mag wheel, giving you access to the 2 10mm bolts that holds the plate behind the cam shaft cog, the parts are off a 1995 suzki swift, and the old parts are off a 1992 holden barina, AKA a suzuki swift...... very good video showing facts and no mucking around
this video shows the basics of the install. I would turn the belt in the reverse direction to allow all the slack to be taken up by the tension spring (the one in this video has a kink in the coils...bad) and just allow the spring to set the tension (pressing on the lever the spring is attached to..to judge if it is moving freely and just let the spring set the tension) the belt will seam loose but will tighten up as the motor warms up with the expansion of the combined parts...over tightening the belt will cause the front journal of the front cam journal to wear and cause the cam seal to fail (requiring the head to need to be line bored to correct this)
Super useful, having a rewatch some time after I first saw it. just done mine, might be too tight, I can ping the belt through the inspection hole, Was hoping you would grab the belt so I could have a visual guide of how tight , tight but not Killa tight is.
hmm...no it's absolutely not :) it's not... you just need to remove the tensioner thats fixed to the house of the pump, and thats pretty much it... :) way way more easier than on any other car...
it took me 2 days & A LOT of cussing too get bolt off. Now I have a pouring oil leak when car is doing & oil is EVERYWHERE on pass side I'm a new student in my autoclass what was canceled for now because of the pandemic I need my car I'm an RN at one of the hospitals here in Las Vegas I refuse to get a new car and have payments up my ass so if anyone has any suggestions on how to find that soil leak please let me know or at least how to get my timing belt cover off so I don't heard anything TY
@@melsme8130 it's the dip stick tube....you need to remove the bolt holding the dip stick tube. use high temp RTV to seal the dip stick tube after cleaning really good...

Saved me some screwing around; thanks.
You rock, thanks for the quick video!
There 2 marks on this cam pulley opposite to each other. can u plz explain both and their purpose
you have the incorrect with a belt on there. The later models had a 1 inch wide belt whereas the early models had the 3/4 inch belt

Yep ... when you driving or at idle? If a idle your idle is too low
