Dude, not only did you demonstrate this pedal perfectly & answer all my questions.. you also played some beautiful music worthy of several refreshes just hear your jams :) thanks
First and foremost: your style of doing demos is such a blessing. Classy, no talking, no click bait, just informative and pleasing. Now, I got this pedal today and I am blown away but it. Does the modulated delay compete with the EHX Memory Toy or the MXR Carbon Copy? No. Do I miss having presets? A tiny bit. But otherwise this thing is astonishing. Reverse, Tube and Galaxy are unreal. There's an entire universe of sound in this little fella. It's a true work horse and even has tap tempo! I like It's simplicity. Sure, if you use it in the studio and want to bring 4-5 sounds onto the stage you will have to do some compromises, unless of course you use two of these :) But all in all: the sounds are stellar. The price is fair. And I guarantee you that you will get funny looks from the Strymon crowd when they hear you play, only to find out that the Pockecho is much cheaper than those hipster units, and also travel friendly. Your fine demo persuaded me to get one of these. Thank you!
I respectfully disagree...you are being modest. The sound quality is perfectly fine. Cell phones have really come a long way, resolution and soundwise. Your playing is very interesting -- so much more rewarding than the usual same riff whilst changing settings, although that can have it's use. Just dug your playing. And that will serve the demo better in the end, IMO. Now it's time to check out the rest of your channel. Subscribed.
I got mine about 2 months ago. Still experimenting, this thing is amazing for the money. If your amp has built in efx ( I have a Kustom Dual 35 DFX, it has delay, chorus/reverb, flange/reverb, and some others) you have lots of sound shaping options.
Very nicely done, especially the guitar loop / overdub demo in the last part of the video. I'm actually looking at one of these on eBay at this moment, which led me to here. Very clear, concise demo. Really nice guitar work, no annoying perpetual dialogue and sales pitch, just a demo of what this does and sounds like. Gee, what a concept . . .
Some one in the comments here mentioned checking the mah rate. All praise to the un named one!! I was ready to toss the pock drum with looper in the bin. Switched the mah from 100 to 500 and it's working so far. It does state the mah required in the manual but IMO its not a very clear set of instructions.
If you just want the looper check out the Pock loop stereo, also by Ammoon, cost about the same and has other functions like half speed and reverse loop. There's also a mono version that comes with a x2 speed effect
Just watched the both videos of the pockverb and pockecho. You got some really nice tones and effects from both pedals. Would be interesting to see them side by side using all aspects of each pedal to see what you come up with. Some great sounds being played by yourself, really expresses the unique sound from each effect. Thinking of purchasing both pedals as what I play is mainly 60's and these really replicate the sought after tones. Great video 👍👍
I think I found what Im looking for. I was looking for a cheap reverse effects pedal. And this is the one for me, I think. Thanks for this video. A friend/acquaintance here on RUclips suggested to me the Pockverb. And its a great pedal. But I already got reverb pedal and I also got delay pedal. I only wanted a reverse pedal and theres not much demo around. So thank you so much for this demo review.
Sounds nice.. I’m still confused with delay vs echo, & even reverb, sometimes tone characteristic overlaps. I’m thinking of getting one of these for the looper feature.
For some reason people who record using omnipolar microphones get in my honest opinion the best capture of the actual sound in room. Close mic'd SM57 etc.. It's useful to know but not relevant. Silent touch footswitches are gold. I run a Omnipolar room Mic always so.. lol
great playing sir. sounds great pedal regardless of its price! if you compare it to ehx canyon delay+looper. what is you choice sir?? because it seems they have the same concept. im just curious what is your opinion. thank you.
thanks! the concept is similiar but not quite the same. I would say the EHX canyon is more unique than this one. If you like to experiment with sounds, the EHX is the better choice (e.g. the octave delay, the shimmer delay, the hold function). The canyon is also more compact than this one. The question is, what types of delay do you really need and is it worth it, to pay triple of the price for the canyon. Hope this helps.
@@thepedalbird2037 The same question was asking me:) Thank you! But in the quality of sound, which is the best the EHX CANYON or the AMMOON? : ) Which prefer?
Curious what you applied around the 28 minute mark to get the hard overdriven lead sound that you played over top of the loop? This is a much different sound than you had up to that point.
I just switched over to the drive-channel of my amp while the PockEcho went through its effects loop. Same Guitar, no other pedals involved in this sound...just the amp :)
I really think it is just e reboxed version of this pedal. I have no 100% evidence, because i never tested the Aquarius...but if you compare both pedals, everything is the same (same delay-names & order, same knobs) and the joyo also has the tape-effect while looping...and this is something which is unusual for other delay/loop-pedals
@@febeomnibeepboop6367 Because I have a desease called GAS "Gear Acquisition Syndrome". 😄 My pedalboard is always in transition because I'm courious about pedals in general. They come and go. That I got rid of them doesn't mean the pedals are crap.
Thanks for the demo. I have been looking at the Boss DD-8 but this is 1/3rd of the price and has almost identical functions on it. I have 2 other Ammoon pedals (mini looper and octave) and have been happy with the quality. So I'll probably pick this up. Also this looks identical to the Joyo Aquarius, but in a different enclosure. I wonder if it's a clone or what, and if the guts of the two are the same.
It has only one mono input...so you can't loop keys and vocals simultaneously. I would recommend you to use a more professional looper-only-pedal for that purpose
@@thepedalbird2037 I meant like using it strictly to do vocal on vocal, or keys on keys. I know with the Donner Mini Looper (less-expensive brand on Amazon) you can use it for vocals and keys
Hard to say! I think i would go with the PockVerb because I do not depend on the looper and it's more versatile with all the reverbs. The galaxy delay though is really nice and you only get it with the PockEcho.
Anybody owned the Ammon looper only? Is is the same as this feature here? I’d like the looper but I saw this video with free echo lol 😂 I’m thinking to get this one.
I am not sure, because you can turn on tails after turning off the pedal. And as far as I know, this is only possible with buffered bypass. But you can turn off tails...maybe then it has true bypass. I didn't recognize any sound loss while the pedal was turned off in the signal chain. I hope this helps.
Yes, when the pedal is off (not disconnected from power) press and hold the looper button for several seconds. The LED will flash to confirm the change
Thanks! I couldn't find anything which says "true bypass"...not in the manual, not on the pedal and not on the packaging. But I think it has true bypass.
Escucho todo igual , para el precio creo que esta bien pero escucho todos los modos iguales , tu tocas muy bien felicidades , pero el pedal la verdad no lo escucho bien
Mine was broken straight out the box. Never heard it. Click the button and no sound. 🙄 They refunded me and didn’t even want the pedal back. I have another one on the way at the moment. The price is so low I decided to try again. Hopefully this one works.
