As a home based, self-taught bike mechanic, with about 15 years under my belt, I stumbled upon your channel while looking for bike related videos. Right of the bat, your attention to detail is to be praised. Stripping and cleaning the entire bike, then turning it from used and tired to "new" and ready to roll is always an interesting and enjoyable undertaking. I've picked up a few ideas already and noticed some of the tools you use, one of which I've ordered from my local Mountain Equipment Coop store. All I have to do now is take a really good look at the layout of my shop, to see how best I can maximize work and storage spaces, while still keeping it a multi-discipline area, i.e.: bikes, small engines, woodworking, etc...to name a few.
    Thanks,

I think they call it ASMR but whatever, it’s a very relaxing process watching the turnaround and recovery of some of these bikes. Having a five bike fleet, I’ve always kept them maintained and clean and do enjoy it (ideally on dry sunny days of course!) but your attention to detail is definitely something an obsessive like me can really appreciate. Just discovered this channel and I'm loving it! What liquid do you use in your ultrasonic cleaner? I got myself a 6 litre one after seeing yours :D

@@Bikespeeds could you be specific please? Is it for ultrasonic cleaners specifically? Do you use a surfactant too like washing up liquid? I read that it suspends the dirt in the bubbles and makes cleaning more effective

How come you didn't change the wheel bearings? That's the biggest thing I want to do on my used Cypress.... Any links for that btw? Lol.

I wonder what year this bike is from. I have one Giant Escape myself from 2015 and I did a similar job 2 years ago. At that time he had 9,000 km. mileage.

Hi. I’m really sorry, we do so many bikes in the cause of a week I lose track.

I am not interested in this stuff. What I would like, for every model, is a list of special tools required, and service intervals. That would actually be helpful information since mfrs fail to include these things, and owners are left in the dark. It would be nice to have access to a library like that. I'd like to search for 'talon 4 service', and find a video that states every special tool required, where to buy them, and the maintenance interval for every component. That would be so valuable.
Honestly, I don't have time to watch someone polish a wheel or whatever. That's completely useless to me, and a waste of time.

Nice job, but i afraid you restore job costed more than a good second hand bike would have costed.
I restored my Giant Escape 1 with second hand and aliexpress parts.

It's not always about replacing parts. Maybe the owner is tight on budget, and all he could afford was a service.

@@Traildude193 then why infest in expensive new parts?

@stormfox81 sometimes you need to buy new parts but sometimes they can get serviced and work like a new part.
