I feel that at the least, the universe is experiencing itself through us. I know this too because I can feel this cosmic energy flowing sometimes very profoundly I can feel it, through my whole body sometimes, but mostly around my third eye area. It usually comes in moments of complete surrender, through meditation and listening to holy sounds, music or ideas. It only resonates with certain things, perhaps it’s simply my higher self letting me know when something is a part of its identity, or when something resonates, who knows. It’s an addicting feeling, that’s for sure.
Yeah, I have experienced this too. It's like...when you're completely immersed doing something you love to do, like perfectly immersed to the point of becoming that enjoyment, outside of time, and your body just sort of melts away and your heart is free for a bit. At different times, I've felt it come on gradually, I've been surprised by it, I've felt it like an explosion, I've felt it stream into my mind when I imagine someone I love or make a benevolent choice, or when I'm in the zone playing a game, or even when I just have wholesome moments of human connection. I was never religious, neither was my family, and I still don't trust religions, but I'm pretty darn sure that's God right there. You don't need a religion or belief if you've already found Him.
I struggle with uncontrollable human desires, because it's another reminder of how i'm never truly in control, regardless of how much I try to convince myself "I" am
I understood your feelings on this subject, no doubt. Some try so much to control, or not to control that you resist simply just flowing and going along with the river. No mind, wu wei, (I believe thats how it's spelled) The thing I think I and many people get caught up on the fact that attitudes change, moods go up and down with the waves, right? So the best I can suggest is finding no mind, and step into it slowly. I don't believe that time exists, so what's the rush? Lol. It is not easy, but the battle is you. You are it! Anything thag happens can be weighed by you, and reacted to as if you are on top of the "problem" or the thing you are going after. One baby step at a time. Try not to worry, and try to just flow as if you are the river, the stream just going around and along the shores of the bank of this river, aka - life. Yah? Idk, hope that helps! =)
