  • Priyam Bharatam, a poem by Shri Chandrabhanu Tripathi (translation underneath). Shared with me by Dr Sampadananda Mishra
For all those who have ever been inspired by the beauty of the land, the beauty of the people, the beauty of the culture, the spirit of India.
And for all those yet to fall in love...
    Naturally lovely
    Very delightful
Carrying to us rivers and stars
    Charming and beautiful
On her forehead, the Himalaya mountain
    At her feet, the sea
    Beloved India, always beautiful
    Receptacle of wealth, ever flowing
    This India, equal with paradise
Whose fame, shining, a song among foreign lands
Beloved India, always to be worshipped
    Many regions Many apparels
    Many forms Many languages
    Where we all are Indians
Beloved India, always to be protected
Where the people are wise, heroes in battles
Offering their bodies, They protect the country,
Where the People are of good conduct, fond of their own duty (dharma)
Beloved India, always to be praised
We bow to the land, to India,
The one supreme dharma, we always esteem,
For which we offer our wealth, our life,
Beloved India, always to be respected

I cried listening to this beautiful song showcasing one’s love for India. I consider Sanskrit the soul of Tibetan people, simply because in-between the 8th to 11th century the great Indian Pandits and Tibetan scholars translated over 300 volumes of Buddhist texts originally existing in Sanskrit. It was the time when the great Nālandā University was in its prime. Today, these Buddhist volumes, originally translated from Sanskrit to Tibetan (also the Tibetan script is taken from the Devanagari script), are nourishing the soul of Tibetan people, especially when they are undergoing inhuman brutalities perpetrated upon them by the Chinese authorities. Jai Bharat! Jai Tibbat! Jai Jagat!

I am a native sinhala speaker from Sri Lanka, Without studying sanskrit I got the meaning of the song thanks to Pali Prakrit language I had to study during my childhood days (which is a compulsory language subject here ) . As we manage to survive Prakrit the Great Sanskrit language is still alive. I wonder why indian government do not promote that wonderful language . Since I found this youtube channel I've become a huge fan of Gabriella. Greetings from Sri Lanka. ❤ 🇱🇰

@@paragbhattacharya943 In our country we have a better situation for both Sanskrit and Prakrit. Even any sinhala speaker (mainly Buddhists) can understand this without learning sanskrit (due to significant prakrit exposure). We have Prakrit as the liturgical language of Buddhism. But, Sanskrit is the identity of Indo Arya people. Sad to see the less care for it in its motherland .

Хаситха дəшан, nice to know that you were able to understand it even though have not studied Sanskrit!!
I did not know that you study Pali Prakrut in school. Please forgive my ignorance, are they two separate courses in school? Also, could you please tell me if Sinhala has words from Pali or Prakrut. Thank you.

    • @TheInfinityy
      @TheInfinityy 5 лет назад +81

@@AbAb-mm3og Sinhala is a language intermediate between Prakrit and Sanskrit. It is like sinhala is 50% Prakrit . 50% sanskrit. (Words in Casual speech is all derrived from prakrit) while the Literature language is full of Sanskrit . Religious vocabulary is Prakrit .. All of these words are like cognates to my ears. We can get the meaning even if we hadn't study sanskrit or prakrit . Sinhala is the only non spoiled living indo aryan language. Because it has the words which are similar to both sanskrit and prakrit .
Example : Mahinda (colloquial/prakrit) Mahendra (Sanskrit equivalent)
      . Ahasa (Colloquial)- sky
Akasha /Nuba (sanskrit equivalent) believe me.. all these are used by us in day to day speech. :)

    • @TheInfinityy
      @TheInfinityy 5 лет назад +56

@@AbAb-mm3og Prakrit is being taught in the Sunday Dharma school (In the Temples) all the Buddhist kids should go there in sundays. So kids get used to both languages early in their lives. It is great. Knowing prakrit means you are in next door to Sanskrit. Yes. Two separated subjects and can learn if anyone wish. But the Prakrit one is learnt by everyone at least a once in their lifetime if you are a buddhist .

And Yes, u r partly right...communism is destroying our culture...These Bangladeshi illegal immigrants are destroying our culture....They rape women, kill men but government doesn't take necessary measures in thr fear of losing votes.... @@ravindermohan1080 I think in Mongolian language we have bold pronunciations of consonants for example, “to see - kharakh (харах ) “ putting more stress on the consonants “ kh” and “r”, so I suppose you can say it is more masculine.
As for the Sanskrit , back in the 90s there were quite a lot of Indian movies were shown on tv i grew up watching and listening to Indian music so im used to the language though I don’t understand them they always sounded beautiful especially songs like Gaiea’s . Please recommend if you know any artists like her always open to discovering new heart warming songs.

@@themayank6173 tbh Bollywood has helped to retain our culture to some extent... especially festivals , marraige ceremonies thru their songs etc. If not our people would have completely given up traditional clothes like other countries. Fashion designers like sabyasachi, msnish malhotra modernized our sarees, kurtas, lehenga n made it look really fancy n expensive... Bollywood celeb wear them n made it trendy n fashionable hence common ppl also still wear them n thus it s still in use..
Similarly karan johar has used patriotic song in his movies be it K3G, kal ho na ho etc. Sanjay bhansalu has always used traditional dance n music in his movies n thus spread it all over the world like devdas, ram leela etc..
South indian movies often come up with devitional n historical movies with traditional dance, music n costumes which attracts audience so don't blame the movie or music industry..as an Individuals we need to teach our kids sanskrit, shlokas, yoga, satvic lifestyle, abt our freedom struggle, rituals, mythology etc.

@@preethanadig6252 I respect your opinion and my intention was Bollywood toward Sanskrit language and you took it to another level. English is cool English taking people are classy they are the people on the top, I know English is international language and its necessary in modern day but Judging people by whether they talk in English you can get videos of Karan johar making fun of people because of they are weak in English. I have views toward your comment. We Indian always celebrate all the festival with warm feeling and cheerfully, Bollywood never helped to retain the festival they always present as they already celebrated in the country and sometimes they go beyond. And marriage ceremonies is irrelevant point here because Bollywood cannot retain rituals perform in the ceremony and they go beyond by "Bhag kr shadi kr lenge". They potrait love marriage as parents always say no to love marriage, so leave parents to a girl/boy you love recently. Bollywood make huge impact of defamation of indian traditional clothes they make foreign clothes, foreign lifestyle is better than Indian thing you can watch any movie you can see heroin mostly wear western and rarely traditional unless the movie is about family in village. Everyone wants to look better than another person in room so they tell their tailor to made beautiful clothes and this process is coming from ages and fashion designer is nothing but a tailor with creativity. Mostly celebs wear western style clothes made by fashion designer(observe that). Patriotic songs is different topic. And for traditional dance observe Bollywood movies, album, show did they perform kathak, bharatnatyam, odissi, kuchipudi, manipuri. You will get your answer. And I am talking about Bollywood not South industry they are great at their job in innovation and protecting culture. Bollywood present History always as love story for ex:-Shikara, Jodha akhbar, latest movie pani path and if you think akhbar was a lover first know about mina bazar and his haram. They always present mughal as peace maker in fact Mughal destroy Tatkshila, nalanda university, genocide people and forcefully converting. Some films try to show truth for ex:- Tanaji, and see the starting criticism from some critics and Bollywood magazines. They say the film can cause riots and it is showing false... etc. People nowadays are more aware that previous years and now Bollywood got so much hatred and they have to improve themselves.

@@nanashi2632 South Indian languages are 70% Sanskrit . Hindi script is same as Sanskrit .
So Indians don't really need to learn perfect Sanskrit . Its better if we don't destroy existing languages . Hindi is already destroyed by mixing English vocabulary in it .
We actually speak Hinglish . South Indians are also now moving towards the same trend .
They are using English vocab while speaking . So they are destroying their vocabulary of Telugu or Kannada etc as North Indians have done to Hindi . Same for Bengali.
Indians measure the level of intelligence by English , which is slowly killing our culture .
People have to understand that we can learn multiple languages without mixing each other . When people don't use Hindi while speaking English , then why do they use English worlds while speaking Hindi . Coz they feel pride while using English.
After 30 or 35 years , many of the languages will vanish .
Today most of the Indian book writers are writing in English . So writing books in indigenous languages has already come to an end .

I'm a Nepalese girl and was a government school student and I have studied sanskrit till class 4. I was very good at it later it was removed from the syllabus. I feel very sad when I think about it. My country Nepal where majority of the population is of Hindu but sadly the maoist government made it secular. I want it to be a Hindu 🕉️ country again but the so called secular Hindus don't understand it's consequences.

When you love deeply, you are in direct connection with God.... Humans have the ability to feel love profoundly.... Hence, we have the ability to be connected with the divine, the ultimate consciousness.... If music inspires love and devotion, it's divine and beautiful.... Hence, we Indians say Namaste, I bow to the divine in you.... 😊
