Some people will make sly comments about Chris Blackwell the fact still remains that he played a great part in the Journey of Reggae music. We have to look past the fact that he is an English Man. Let's scratch the surface and look at his soul Journey. Every soul is here on a journey whether they come in black white Chinese Indian etc. The outer appearance is an illusion, his role in bringing this highly Spiritual and Revolutionary music to the International audience goes without saying. His soul has fulfilled part of the works that he came here to do. It is time now to put away the negative ignorant and bad mouth talking and look at the greater picture you don't know what agreements he made with other souls within the Spirit realms before he arrive here all those people he worked with, they may have agreed that they would support one another on this earth plane, there was also life lessons to learn from one another. So all I can say is Thank you Chris Blackwell for the contributions your soul made on this musical journey you are part of the chain link that help to get the music recognized and honoured world wide. Just read Chris Blackwells new Biography "The Islander; My Life In Music And Beyond", which is a great read and really humanizes him. I highly recommend the entertaining and enjoyable read.
He's a white Jamaican (yes he was born in England so what!) ..he grew up there. he was rescued by some Rasta fishermen after his boat hit a reef and he never forgot what they did for him,it's the reason he loaned the wailers money because he trusted rasta's. Yes he made a lot of money from the wailers he also made a lot of money from U2,the B52'S,Grace Jones and many others...thats what record producers do....
Chris wanted to put his investment in to making Roberts music more famous. Despite the other members being involved emotionally and economically. That shows that he lacked care for the others! This is what the guitarist Al Andersson has told. No matter how much other good things he may have done for the members. That's not okey!!

You are absolutely right, its thanks to him that Dancehall became a global back in the 90s but its sad he sold island records to the multinationals
