according to the interrogative, he's supposed to be notorious for shooting rats. So I just spent the last 45 minutes placing rats, throwing bottles, whistling... And he wouldn't shoot the rat. It never occurred to me to simply trap him and then shoot the rat lol Thanks again!
Once you place the rat or rats depending on if you found other rat bombs like I did you can just knock him out place him next to one and shoot it yourself and it counts as the rat bomb kill. I could not get him to shoot at the rats so I tried this and it worked!!

I am glad I could save somebody the time that I wasted it was fun though because I keep invasions on and got invaded a lot the 2 and half hours I tried to get him to shoot those stupid rats. you will find that this method is usable and easier for a couple of the other special kills as well. like the chandelier or the concrete one.

On mission 2, I spent 20 minutes hunting for those hidden antiques with a friend. On mission 4, I spent god knows how long searching my inventory for the rat bomb. Is there something you're not telling me, hm mission 6?

Thanks, it was starting to piss me off because I thought he would see it and shoot it or something. After distracting him three times to it I figured I'd better look it up and see how someone else did it.
He actually does shoot it after a while.

Is anyone else experiencing a bug it wont let me spot him identify him or soon as it does the game just ends and i pass the mission without getting the kill. If i do tag him and place a rat bomb at his feet and shoot it he blows up and dies but the game doesn't acknowledge it and i just run around for 10 min then i just collapse and die for no reason and start over
yes. same thing. tried numerous things. won't work. mission keeps ending and don't get the kill. I even left an objective up and it's still ends
After like 20min I finally got it... it doesn't work anymore to put is unconscious body next to and shoot it. I placed the rat down, put a shu-mine set for a 5sec delay and waited. He walked up to the mine and it knocked him unconscious. Then I shot the rat and it killed him. Guess the damage from the mine and the rat together was enough to actually kill him
It does work. I think its just hit and miss, another comment said the guy has to see the rat before u shoot the bomb
I also tried it with knocking him out and placing his body almost on top of the rat and i shot the xplosive, no achievement, he did not die from it.

I got it now, he needs to get to see the rat like a script trigger, then shot the rat and unlocked it.
Same thing just happened to me. Literally killed everyone else on the map...dragged this dude's unconscious body to the rats, planted rat bomb, exploed rat, nothing....still unconcious
I had the same issue, then I added a shumine near the rat. The combined explosion worked.

I got him to shoot the rat, I just put the rat on the left and he whistled. He goes to the rat and takes a while but in the end he says: a rat? and shoots him hahahaha Please be patient if you can.

Rat bomb iniated here: we are an elite society of high brow nazi killers. We read thick texts and meet every wednesday to have a gaff at what we have read. If you simply do not understand the rat bomb maybe it isn't for you (lights a cigarette on a stick and adjusts his monocle being sure to not ruffle his majestic mustache.) Laughs in high society....
