Hi, great video! I'm making of those daggers in 3d right now but I figure out what the green handles are made out of! Do you know what that material is?
Made of malachite. I believe the authentic ones were wood or bone plated with things. I assume some could even have jade considering it's value in their culture. Some handles seemed to be based off of Chacmool stone idols, so they may inspire your work if you look at examples of them.
@@classicasoftware4749 Thanks a lot! That really helps. I recently found another source that said malachite but it was a reproduction of some sort and I'm not a huge fan of that composite material like in the picture. I have used a pattern off the Aztec Calendar for the hilt, tried making it jade and I loved how it looked. I had now idea it could be jade as well, I'm so happy to know that now. Really thanks for the reply! Now I'm looking for how a freshly cleaned skull would look.

Do you know of any photos from museums of authentic sacrificial knives?
Yes, search for Tecpatl on wikipedia, it has a photo of an authentic example in the British Museum, there's more photos of it on different sites.
