    Brilliant little video, I really enjoyed it.
    Around 20 years ago I was attending a training course for a couple of days in the hotel on the side of the marina, I think its called the Marriott. Anyway I took a small rod & reel just in case I had a chance to fish in the evening. One evening I was walking along taking in the views when I noticed a shoal of grey mullet. I ran back to my car for my tackle and went into the hotel kitchen and asked the chef for some bread and he gave me a couple of baps. I had a great couple of hours catching 6 lovely mullet which of course were all returned unharmed. Seeing your video has brought it all back😉👍🏻

      Mullet have got to be one of my favourite fish to catch, surely pound for pound they have to be the strongest fighting fish? And as you’ve seen the Marina can produce some whoppers!!

      @@thehooky2812 absolutely and if prepared correctly they are every bit as good as Bass to eat, especially if they are caught in the open sea.
      To me mullet are a real anglers fish😉

    Used to fish the docks in late70s early80s as a kid. Used to play on the beach and sink our toes into grey muck. Dig beach holes with orange spade. Eisteddfod was in Singleton Park one year. Happy days.

    Brilliant! I blanked beach side of the pier the other day and had a stroll around the marina and dock on Monday and saw some big mullet too! Will have to take the rod next time! Really enjoyed that though lads, thanks for uploading, as always...

      Cheers as always my friend! The pier has got to be one of the most inconsistent places to fish😂 get your mullet gear out next time l🎣

    Hoping to get down the marina this evening. Got no bait so lures and Isome for me unless I can get down the beach sometime today. Nice little vid and as someone else mentioned, it’s nice to see Mark’s on our doorstep being fished and filmed. Can’t believe you got that cracking Bass out from the Tawe side. Jammy bugger! All the best. 👍🏻👊🏻

    I’ve cycled past that marina spot many times and often wondered if there might be bass there, so well done lads 👍 have you or do you know of anyone who has caught conger in the marina?

    • @thehooky2812
      @thehooky2812  Год назад +1

      Plenty of bass to be caught!! We’ve never caught conger but I assume they are there, they definitely got to be in the Prince of Wales dock

    Would it be true that you fish the docks in the warmer months, or does it go well in the winter. Also with your drop net, what length rope is that?

    • @thehooky2812
      @thehooky2812  Год назад

      Hi mark, yeah summers the best for there… and I’m not sure the exact length but I had to add another rope as the one that came with the net wasnt long enough

    when and where to spin for mackerel in swansea?

    • @thehooky2812
      @thehooky2812  Год назад

      You can potentially spin for them at west pier on a really high tide👍

    Hi mate, what size hooks are you using?

    • @thehooky2812
      @thehooky2812  2 года назад

      Depends on what bait really. size 10s with mudrag, and then bigger hooks with crab and live mackerel… 4/0 top guns do the trick

  • @bout20031
    @bout20031 Год назад +1

    Great video m8, how do you rig your live bait?

    • @thehooky2812
      @thehooky2812  Год назад

      Free line with a 3/0 wide gape hook 👍 depends on the size of the bait tho
