Just stumbled actoss this, I was there and Shirley Bassey was by far the best performer, although the whole event was great and the weather beautiful and free picnic from Safeway, great day out 😊
I was there at the concert right at the front. Shirley Bassey out performed every artist that afternoon. It was a fantastic performance. I will never forget it. I wish I could relive the whole thing over and over again! Thanks for sharing this video and I think you will agree that actually being there was superb!

Oh my word! Thank you so much for posting this! Dame Shirley was fantastic and she looked stunning! You said the only version to make it to the screen. Is that because they haven't released it? I would love to see the whole hour, is that possible Steven? I can't believe they put Shirley on third! Were they mad?And I agree -LOL-Diana Ross was probably fit to be tied. I'm sure she didn't cut any time off her act, which left Rod doing cutting his, or did they both shave a song or two off their performances? You were so lucky to have been there! How close were you able to get?
PJ Hanna Hi, I'm afraid the whole hour was never broadcast or published. I was quite a long way away at this concert - there was a big, fenced seating area at the front for ticket holders. I was with the crowd who were there free to of charge. I've seen her many times though and have often been right at the front, the Electric Proms included.
Hi Steven, It's too bad it hasn't been published. You would think they would have recorded the whole concert. Maybe they did and have it in storage somewhere. I'm glad you were able to see it-and free to boot! Did Diana or Rod have to cut their acts or did the show run long? You are so fortunate to have seen Dame Shirley multiple times, and up front at the Electric Proms too. Wow, I watched the videos; what a special concert. I would love to see her even once! But I live in the U.S. I'm not sure why she wasn't as popular here as she was elsewhere. It's our loss, so many people missed out. If the producers were smart though, they would have Dame Shirley do the new Bond movie. A new generation would be introduced to her. It would be great! I guess they have spoken with Adele and Beyonce. I think Adele has it. Another option is to make history and have a duet; Adele and Shirley, just a thought. I know Adele adores Shirley and would give the project the proper love and respect. But I still want Shirley to do it! :-)
