That sabai from Thailand that she mention in the video is the big sabai that cover both shoulders. Queen Kossomak Nearyrath realized it's Thai, so she replaced them with " cheang " ( mean oblique)which cover only half shoulder. Chheang in Khmer is different from Thai sabai Cheang is shorter, heavily decorated and heavy material Your sabai is long , thin and more delicated material. I'm sure there must be exchange of fashion between countries during those time just like today. sabai and cheang are similar but different. I realize that's true because due to some sources there were Siam teachers here and also Khmer teacher who could speak Thai either. But Princess also add that since 1940s Princess Kossamak reworked with the old khmer teachers to gather the real and true khmer gestures, as a result you can see the differences of gestures between Khmer and Thai. Here she wanted to ensure that Khmer has our own gestures but because of culture influence, makes our dance in that time look similar to Thai.
