Thank you so much 👍
More like deedlit in dracula castle from sotn
@@aerithsu the game is really giving off SotN vibes. It's beautiful and exploration is so good. It worth every penny.
Thank you :-)
What is the game in the cover vidéo?
It's like the Super NES era never ends. All these games really had Super Metroid to thank for creating such a unique genre in the 2D gaming scene.
Actually none of these would work on the super nes. That's our nostalgia talking. What you're seeing really is a timeless art style and fun video games that can even be played decades from today. Not like the PlayStation polygon style which is severely outdated by today's realistic 3D systems. These 2D games are combined with such 3D systems if you look at the particle effects and lighting, that's simply not possible to code in purely 2D engines. Also the super nes games aren't playable today as they had severe limitations on animation frames, sound and VFX that today's games are no longer limited by but can be created by very few people in a matter of months to years thanks to the amazing tools we have today that was simply not there a decade ago. Doesn't matter how realistic or cinematic games look. The AAA corporations are stuck making such games for decades, and Indies figured out that we don't have to wait anymore. These types of games are most likely gonna stay forever simply cos they're fun to play.
@@orangelimesky You're taking his comment far too literal, I know exactly what he means.
@@InternetSenation I didn't take anything literal. Was just talking about the SNES influence these types of games share. And who are you anyway? Literally nobody was talking to you lol
@Vican to be honest... the vania part was more that Sotn was a fairly recent game at the time the term was coined. The conventions of the genre were all created by metroid. The genre should be called metroidlike ou metroidlite. The only mechanic castlevania brought to the formula was not even a new mechanic, that being the rpg elements ( basically levelling up and equipment loot) ,which most new games in the genre don't utilize.
@@Chaudexpower You're taking his comment far too literal. Take a seat, lift your feet up and have a soda pop.
What a great find that video was for me. Wishlist updated.
Thanks for sharing. :)
I love the gorgeous art style of SOULDIER. I'm just in total aw of it.
Every one of these games looks amazing. I want them all!
I hope all of these games get a physical release!!
Me too!
@@LimitedGameNews - Happy to see that there are liked-minded people that agree!
@@LimitedGameNews Me three!
@@Toadsanime :D Happy New Year, mate! Scouting for new games, eh? :D
🙌🏽 yes! Need physical for all!!
Amazing list. Honestly, I don't know, which one to pick. So many great titles here. Well done!
A few of these look totally insane on the visual front. Definitely going to check out Lost Ruins
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth was way too short, way too easy. And it's a very fun game, as well, wish it would've put up more of a fight. Very good experience though.
ah, so it's like team ladybug's previous touhou game. i was hoping they would extend the game length somehow.
Полностью согласен, с вами, комрад. Короткая, но насыщенная, одним словом, "лайк".
@@Y4manata I know, it sucks, you talking about Luna Nights? Cuz that one was good as well, but also short. There's been a bunch of quality games that are extremely short, and I play through them so quickly that I forget about them. It does nothing but hurt the game and company, I don't get how Symphony of the Night is still one of the biggest 2D platformers of all time, there should be a bunch of Metroidvanias just as big or bigger. And I play most of them, even the larger ones don't feel as huge.
And for these short, quality games, even though I've only bought DLC once in my life, I would actually buy DLC for the good games if they made a new map or something. If they were rushed and forced to put out a shorter game(but still made a good game), why not make some more levels and extend the experience?
sad that like half of the games on this video that are listed are still not out yet =/
I remember the Kickstarter for _Bushiden._ I hope they do end up doing the extra characters and a physical. I also backed _The Last Faith._
I have been waiting for a sequel since o first saw the first trailer. Same with Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit In Wonder Labyrinth.
@Ahmed Malaki Kickstarter is a site that someone can post a project and asks others to help fund them
Waiting for Bushiden, Steamdolls, Crowsword, and Silksong.
Do you know when or how I can buy the last faith?
@@bigbankgib438 Current release is scheduled for November, on Steam, Switch, PS4/5, and XB1/Series.
I friggin loved Aeterna Noctis! Played it on Series S. Had some performance issues on Xbox One so I’d wait for a switch review before buying it on that platform when it releases.
Aeterna Noctis is a truly incredible game! Of the modern Metroidvanias, I think it might just be my 2nd favorite. And it's pretty damn close to Hollow Knight.
The Last Faith looks identical to blasphemous’ art style, still can’t wait to buy it along with blasphemous 2 babyy, I hope it comes out on time
Great list, I love Metroidvanias!
Savior, record of lodoss war, last faith, aeterna noctis... They're looking pretty good
You're looking pretty good yourself.
Lost Ruins looks great! A lot of these games do.
I completed Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth on Game Pass. A wonderful game!
Savior and the last faith for me...sweet Christmas these games look hot fiah
So exciting, and inspiring! Working very hard on the Metroidvania game I am doing. Based on a little comic I drew in school, which is also being updated, and will be before the game. Sci-Fi fantasy, all the way working hard to make it look more like Guilty Gear.. Goes along with the main character, who is half human and 2 types of alien, being the lead guitarist and vocalist in his Rekkr Metal band called Drengr lol. He has songs/music written for him too, which are apart of his fighting.
Metroidvania with metal. Im in
@@Ralphensteins Currently working on the way this style of metal is supposed to sound, along with the design of his guitar, his second weapon. It's called an "Infinite Frequency Manipulator", or IFM. A sonic weapon, that allows you to hone harmonic energy, for harmonic attacks.
Due to his slight enhancement of the mind, because of the alien abilities he receives, he is able to briefly augment reality with his harmonic attacks, which are centered around the theme of his riffs. He names his guitar "Violent Resonance", it goes with his main weapon an elemental gunblade called "Violent Grace", then his third weapon himself called, "Weapon of Sovereign Ruination, True Arsenal Form, Righteous Violence" lol.
Some cool stuff here. Exciting.
Ok Savior looks amazing. Hope there's a physical release
Savior looks NUTS. wishlisted that bad boy. Hopefully physical edition coming. I played and beat deedlit in wonder labyrinth and thought it was decent but LOVED infernax. Highly recommend that to any fan of castlevania. Has some light metroidvania action too :D
Allmost at the end of 2023 still no Silksong. FeelsBadMan
So much gorgeous pixelart.
Wow, The Last Faith looks amazing. Let me add it to my Steam wishlist. Oh, it's already there... good.
Low key reminds me of bloodborne
The Last Faith looks like Blasphemous, even the combat animation.
top 15 reason i love pixelart games or pixelart in general
This video for me is like a shopping list
Any latest update on Bushiden? I really can't wait to play it!
Crownshorn, The Last Fate, Silksong, Aeterna Noctis
Crowsworn looks sick.
I love the Strider-based animations on Bushiden
savior looks like an updated prince of persia in terms of art direction and movement, looks like it used some old school mocap for the animations
Looking to be an awesome year for metroidvanias if last faith makes it in 2022 and silksong in early 2023!!!
Hollow Knight Silksong, I wonder if The Knight will make an appearance as a recurring boss like Hornet was in the first game.
Unlikely if it's a prequel, impossible if a sequel. Maaaaybe in the equivalent of Godhome.
But other Vessels aren't out of the question.
Everything looks awesome!!!
Crow sworn looks dope but it's got the exact same look as halkow knight
I try not to get hyped for games, but I had to pause after Savior just to say I’m super hyped for Savior.
same here just discovered it, easily my most anticipated game on this list now!
Some of these games look absolutely insane.
Holy crap I think the is the first time Ive seen a games list and wanted to play every single game bad!
Some GREAT looking games here
I want all these! The few that have been released I already have.
Crowsworn is my most anticipated game for a long time now my hyped for it is even bigger the elden ring at the time
bought aeterna noctis few days ago and it's incredibly fun it's like hollow knight + celeste + castlevania
I think it’s the best metroidvania
@@masonbrinton8367 definitely top 3 besides hollow knight and castlevania symphony of the night
One game I really want to play, but it's still not finished, is Heart Forth Alicia!
I like seeing these types of games on steam for years for like 3 pound then they hit switch like it's a new game for price tag of 30 pound
Só jogão parabéns
Feel like I've been seeing some of these for a few years lol.
So much to look forward to I buy a game almost weekly due to Nintendo great eshop sales , Hail The era of Metroidvanis
Some look really good, I just wonder how many of them will be physical
All these games look incredible. Idk why no one but you seem to be talking about them!
Record loddoss war game is like a castlevania game on super steroids #!!nice
The Record of Lodoss definitely captured that Castlevania: Symphony of the Night feel to it! Really polished everything it came from, down to every minute detail, really.
I agree, but sadly it's playtime is shorter and a lot easier than touhou luna nights, but still, I love the game
I can't wait to play Savior.
American indie game developers really like Kora-like lead characters.
If Goof Troop was coming out when they were growing up they'd all be doing furry dating sims.
Nah, just kidding. I've always liked the Joan of Arc archetype myself, but only among other archetypes.
Let's not forget about Rogue Legacy 2. It's looking pretty good.
AFAIK that is not a metroidvania
@@advancexz0 Hmmm, It's definitely a roguelite since you have to start over when you die, but the progression and exploration is definitely metroidvania like. Enough so that I feel like it deserve a mention.
Savior looks AMAZING!!!
Moonrider reminds me of Hagane for the SNES.
Bushiden is definitely the most aesthetically impressive and detailed, while Infernax looks the most intriguing.
Infernax is currently on Gamespass (xbox) it's hard but very fun
Bruh that Savior game look too good to be that fluid during actual game play. I'll keep an eye out for it though.
If it were 3D, maybe.
And on the Switch, maybe.
But to process 2D sprites animating that fluidly on a PC? Not a challenging ask at all.
Shit, look at Nidhogg 2. Honestly, most fighting games process faster than that.
@@nolankuffner3573 Just to be clear I am not talking about the animation but rather the the strings of actions that the player is supposed to be able to do. I can't imagine how you would be able to do those freely during actual gameplay. Looks like 2D quick time events.
All of these games look good.
Really excited for Souldiers
Hi Mob-X and sorry for our intrusive comment. We are a small gaming studio based in London currently working on few new games title. We came across your channel just browsing gaming videos and we've seen the good job you're doing. We liked and subscribed to your channel and we would like to ask you if it is possible to send you a game video or a game demo at your choice of our upcoming 2D game and get reviewed or mention in your videos. Thank you so much, best
So here we are 2 days later and Aeterna Noctis is not available on the Switch. Very unfortunate.
El mejor pixel art que eh visto
Don't give adamn about hallo knight, but there are some cool stuff here, like the first game presented.
Nothing here that really excites me. The Last Faith had my interest but it's probably going to be short and janky (just two inexperienced devs if I'm not mistaken) and the more I see of Silksong the more I feel like I don't wanna play as Hornet.
C'mon, Aeterna Noctis looks like a game with lots of potential
These all look great (well, most of them--I'm not a fan of the more Flash-like art in few of them).
So many dragons being hurt in this video! :( Ouch!
Moonrider main character looks like Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist.
Wow interesting modern platformer
Wooow Jack of Blades in Crowsworn
Cross symbol It somehow reminds me suspiciously of the anime, Laika the vampire Astronaut. 🤔
Souldiers, last faith, bushiden and the labyrinth look cool mostly the first 2 i mentioned 😮.
I like this channels style
I think Lost ruins is one best games I’ve played
Alot of good stuff
nice!
The Last Faith look the best to me.
I love Metroidvania style games
La vista de la gerra virtual Aventura criminal.
Aeterna Noctis is hands down the best Metroidvania Game i have EVER played... and i've played A LOT. IMO it even beats Hollow Knight, if you are good at platforming or you are trying to get good at platforming, check that game out.
Is it available for play station?
@@Chris00792 Yes, PS5 tho
For switch?
@@denissolorzano5496 as far as I know, yes
kekw hollow knight is better.
In every way.. The art,the music, the lore....
What's the name of the music that plays during the Record of Lodoss War footage?
these coud all be running on a C64 what a heap!!
nice list
Tnx bro
Pretty sure infernal released long ago. I'm pretty sure I've finished it with 3 endings
Everything is interesting to say the least
Crowsworn looks like a Hollow knight mod
🐨
Wao me gusta 👍🏻 🇩🇴
Este juego es increíble animacxión real .
Ooh so Savior will be release this year in the winter of 2023 right ?
😳😳😳😳😳 mis tempos van ah volver
I love it
The top 14 and silksong lol
ファンタジーアクションみたいですね、 こう言うゲーム好きです 待っていた!( ;∀;)
the term "metroidvania" came because castlevania games started to make more and more games with metroid style maps . Before all this castlevania games were all straight forward no back tracking it was untill symphony of the night and all gba games came to copy metroid style of game . So when another castlevania game was anounced they started to ask if it was another metroid clone with the term "metroidvania" so metroidvania is only used to describe castlevania games with metroid gameplay and maps . Any other game with that type of gameplay and map style is not a metroidvania just a metroid style game .
Crowsworn looks like a Hollow Knight clone. It is the most interesting of them all after Silksong.
I’ll def play that one more than the others. But a few of them looked great.
The Head dev of Moongoose Rodeo works by Team Cherry too, so a lot of similarities are to expect.
@@yohanchanu Shut up and take my money!
the devs confirmedthat the crowsworn map is going to be bigger then hk
Crowsworn looks like Hollowknight.
yo there was a lot of stuff cut from The Last Faith
Lost Ruins really wants to bring in all the Monster girls, huh?
