I think for the early game the Curly Dock Paste is great to craft. Your warriors can gather the ressources very fast and it is as good as the meat bait. For the first hours one cant get enough meat for a good number of meat baits. Since the paste is light, it is also good for trading. (With the ingame traders) In my eyes smoked meat is the best item for trading. Thats why i give my meat to the camps to let them make smoked meat from it. Rather than waisting it for XP generation.
