fun fact: the concept for the music video is "the little mermaid" which is why there's such a predominant presence of water throughout the mv. I love the song btw. I feel like they did a great job having it an all-english song and yet still maintain a very kpop element to it. Still feel very SKZ!

Ahhh thank you. Someone else who thinks this is a good balance of Puth and SKZ style song. Most people don't even realize 3Racha helped write and produce this. They just assume it was all Puth.
If you haven't you should watch the intro video they made about it where they talk about how they had to learn different vocal techniques and choreo styles.
Han did similar songs before. I personally like it but I would gladly exchange cp vocals for more Han or Chan on Bin. As long as I can feel 3rachas hand in a song (and I do feel it in this one) they can do country for all I care. Whatever their hearts desire - they can do and I will probably like it. If not - I will like the next one. They expanded my music horizons. I don't listen to cp or pop much but I do when its hanpop. I love when they sing. Ballads and rock songs are my fav songs of theirs anyway so the more the better.
I was really surprised at how different this song hits. I still love it though. I love seeing them continue to grow and experiment. It's part of what makes skz who they are. Bang Chan pop god?....Nah, music god 💙

Also...its like I recently told a friend: Seungmin changed his vocal technique the most for this song, but Chan's natural vocal suits it the most. As you said: his voice suits this style so so well. And in the live ot8 version we got even morw of their vocals (also a little extra rap). The live video is my absolute favourite now.
Anyway..yes, love this song and I dont think they are westernising too much. They will always do their own thing and always try all sorts of styles and genres, challenging themselves more and more.

Ohh, I love your reactions so much! The song is great, but you also should listen to Stray Kids ver. of the song. It excludes CP parts and contains some rap parts from Hyunjin, Changbin and Felix! I actually prefer this ver. more 😍
I think the boys succsesfully saved their own style in the pop genre like they did many times before with many other different genres! Yes, it sounds more light?? unlike their normal style, but, like Chan said - they wrote the lyrics, the music, they're voices is here, so this is Stray Kids no matter what! I hope this is the start for something bigger for them 💖

I agree with your initial assessment of the song. Like it or not (I happen to LOVE IT), this is the perfect blend of CP and SKZ. If you catch the Intro to the track/M/V, you'll understand that they wanted to try something new and knew that this would be a different sound as is EVERY Stray Kids track! I love that they take risks and are willing to try a track that will appeal to the Western audiences and that is incredibly STREAM-ABLE.
Also, you and I are the only ones (that I know of) who has brought up the aspect ratio (4:3). This throws off vintage vibes, along with the vintage cars, and the throwback sounds.
Some folks criticize this tack, but think of the goals of this group and what they need to do to accomplish them. I trust SKZ that they can navigate this, despite what "fans" may think. They look to Stay for support and they deserve it.

It's sooo good to hear someone who knows music and the industry celebrate Stray Kids' foray into what is a somewhat different path. Yes, this music divided fans and I'd say that those who supported this are 100% STAYs. The kids worked so hard on this music and to hear some reactors bash this and the MV is heartbreaking. Just watching your reaction made it all up and erased all that negativity.

I don't think Charlie Puth likes kpop, he just likes the consistent and high stream counts of kpop listeners. Also, the guy's a zionist so I don't like him collaborating with the boys. Does he make good songs tho? Yes, but nothing special in the kpop level of things like Home by Seventeen and Feel Special by Twice.

I see a lot of stays complaining that this is "Charlie Puth ft. Stray Kids" and that some members have very little lines, but this is a 2:47 second song and there are 8 members in Stray Kids, its hard to fit them all in such a short song with a feature, and they still combine for more lines than Charlie. This is a collaboration song

I am totally fine with groups trying all different types of sound and agree they did a great job mixing CP and SKZ styles. I think the vocal heavy track was a great challenge for SKZ, and I love it.

Yeah. I am one of the "it's too western pop for me" lol, in a strange way - like in the whole it's too pop, while in pieces I like it a lot. It took a time to get used to this sound (I listened to Charlie Puth songs to prepare - and it's not for me). But it's skz, and I have no problem with them trying different styles. And Binnie sings. I repeat: Binnie sings! :D
They all sound great, I cant even choose my favs, and horeo is beautiful.
So it's far from my favorite skz songs, but it is in my playlist for the reasons.

Started watching your reaction ages ago. I love the fact that you always speak the same opinion about Stray Kids as me. From Hellevator, Grr, My Pace and everything. Not gonna lie, I almost forgot your channel ever since I stopped watching reaction haha. BUT I just found out today that you reacted to this song and you're on THEE BANG CHAN's vocal!
Let me say, I know this is about Stray Kids and I definitely love Stray Kids but let's put that aside for awhile because I am so gonna high five you right now cuz I found not many people realize how good Bang Chan's vocal is. I have always noticed his vocal ever since he casually sing covers on top of songs reaction in his VLIVE. That man is very versatile, he's so pop + R&B guy. I personally am okay even if I often feel defeated when it comes to Stray Kids' comeback where they don't put Chan as the vocalist for a melodic lines or he always gets the second verse guy. But I really wanted more people to know his vocal skill by singing more pop + R&B genre. Like, I am so desperate on how to reach him and convince him to at least do more song cover or produce these genre for him to let people know how good he is.
Here's my go to, everyone, look at the low views, means not many people found this side of him, please find more of Chan's vocal moment. Don't make him a missed opportunities, STAY!

I just don't like Charlie Puth as a person. And to be honest, I love Stray Kids, but this is a very repetitive song and too simple for me. I'm guessing that's where the pop vs kpop conflict comes in.
