- Dr Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood actor, delivers his public lecture entitled Life Lessons.
Dr Khan is one of the most influential actors in the world, having appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films.
He has received 14 Filmfare Awards, honouring excellence in the Hindi language film industry. He was awarded one of India’s highest civilian awards, the Padma Shri, in 2005.
In this lecture, Dr Khan talks about happiness, success, and lessons learnt throughout his career.

I have watched many blogs of his lectures and I am awed. You can take something valuable from them. He has just the right touch for young people for all people for all ages really.
This statement of his, sucks! You don't have to become a rich to be a philosopher. What he is portraying in his statement that, everyone listens to a rich person even if they speak shit. Utter nonsense.

He meant that its easy to be philosophical about certain things when you are struggling or poor but when you become rich, you realize the actual tramps and temptations that would encourage you to negate even your own philosophical views. Therefore, he is saying that despite being rich and having all access to numerous temptations, if you can remain philosophical even then, then you've truly acquired the essence of philosophy.

I would not be wrong if i say people around the world know Bollywood because of Shahrukh khan and not the other way. I have my Business here. I work with people from different countries, almost half the world. The moment you say you are from India, the first thing they say is Shahrukh Khan. I cannot pen down his achievements in this small little space. All i can say is, if you see a Indian movie in any country around the world, The person who opened that business gate is Shahrukh Khan! He taught Bollywood how you can make big business out of Indian movies. What I like about SRK is that, when he started to act, he was not from a rich family, or from a family with a famous cinematic history. He was just an unknown guy. And now he is here, the 2nd richest actor in the world. He is really the best example of "hard work" that most people don't believe in.
Dude his mother did not study at Oxford. Yes, she was from a wealthy family, but his father was very proud, he refused to take anything from the family of his wife. She was high court judge and working with difficult teenagers. The family is completely ruined, when his father became ill, they sold everything to pay for his treatment, which were very expensive. When he died the family had lost home for the debts. His mother worked several jobs to give children a good education. Shah Rukh has always believed that the mother killed themselves with work.When Shah first arrived in Mumbai, he slept on the benches. Therefore it is not necessary to sing songs about how he was rich. Shah absolute self-made man who started with 0 and created a financial Empire. Period!

Did you miss the part where its mentioned that he adopted 12 villages and is doing everything is can to provide children of India with education? Or the part where he is helping burn victims? "Chasing girls half is age" Really? Is Kajol half is age? Is Madhuri? Is Juhi? does are the actresses he has done most of his movies with. Or do you mean Deepika?
I agree that thought process of heroines having a "shelf life" or not getting good roles after a certain age while heroes get to prance around till they are in their 70s with young new heroines. But this isn't Shah Rukh's fail, he works with maybe actresses regardless of their age, its what the character requires for. Maybe you want to take a look at other bollywood starts who only work with actress under 30 and play the same character of the hero who saves the damsel in distress without wearing a shirt over and over again? And this problem isn't a bollywood only issue, it's present everywhere in the world and definitely should change but It isn't only Shah Rukh's responsibility.
I know a ton of Non Indians watching Bollywood movies, especially SRK movies, me being one of them. And as far as insulting formulaic bollywood movies go, ever heard of hollywood? Ever seen the amount of formulated movies they make with Zero content? Its part of the industry, there going to be typical formulated films along with realistic film. Swades, Chak De India, Paheli, My Name is Khan just to name a few weren't at all the typical "bollywood formulaic films". The industry is progressing and so are the audiences, cinema is becoming more than just a time pass entertainment and I am sure as time goes on there will more good realistic films but there will also be more good "formulated" films, as there is more than enough space for both!
And as for his son, if his children want to become actors then OF COURSE HE IS GOING TO HELP HIS KIDS GET IN THE INDUSTRY! Are you kidding? I don't know what your father does, but if you wanted to join his profession I am sure he would help you out too! Even if he doesn't directly help you with contacts he will help you by teaching you about the profession and advising you! Thats parents do!
But of course, You are one of the of the "Haters" for the lack of a better word, you will whine and cry and shout and scream about how much you dislike him or how he isn't any good but at the end of the day your hate and negative energy is only fucking with you. Because he envelops what he says in self deprecating wit, if you're hearing him for the first time you may miss out on the depth that usually follows. He always says such deep stuff but with humour, you're laughing one sec & go "woah! that's deep but true" & the transition from the humour to the deep & vice versa seems the most natural flow ever...
