I think people do not realize how great Thuram was as a right back. People may remember him playing center back but until 2000 he was one of the best fullbacks in the world!
You know what I went blank when I was trying to think of Italians aside from one name it’s actually insane there isn’t an Italian mentioned personally Maldini the King of defenders should be in any CB LB top 5 it’s non debatable, over 20 years at peak level it’s a no brainier for me.
Alves actually performed for Brazil, leading them to Copa America 2019 when Neymar was injured. And he did it when he was old. Marcelo has always been defensively poor though, which is why Mourinho and Ancelotti (initially) chose Coentrao over him in big games. Marcelo was key for Madrid in UCL, but mainly in 16/17 and 17/18. 13/14 Coentrao started the bigger games, including the final. Casemiro often covered the spaces Marcelo left at LB and I think Lahm overall is more complete. The defensive aspect MUST be considered more highly. Great video still! :)
Maicon started ahead of Dani Alves at RB in the 2010 world cup. If you compare with the full-backs on this list, he was not particularly good for the national team
@@AB-jg1ny Alves came on as a sub still. I think they chose Maicon cos of his 09/10 Inter season, and cos Michel Bastos was LB. So having both him and Alves (too attacking) wasnt the right balance
I remember first seeing Dani Alves play for Sevilla vs Barcelona back in 07 and he was simply the stand out player on the pitch, I remember he scored a freekick, him and Carlos are my top 2 of all time.
Ain’t gonna lie some of these names giving me goosebumps when I remember how good they were & the comparison to so many low quality players we have to cope with nowadays, Kyle Walker,A.Davies at Bayern “arguably” the best FB at this moment in time are not anywhere near these guys mentioned .
finally someone talked about not liking how pep put lahm into CDM. pep's 13/14 bayern season, i felt he wanted to do many things different. he initially tried to put ribery as number 10 but it failed. he wanted schweinsteiger at CDM instead of martinez who wasnt technically gifted. but due to injuries he went for Lahm
And people don‘t mention enough, that he took over a treble winning Bayern side and got absolutely outcoached by Ancelotti in semis in 13/14 at the Allianz Arena like Bayern never do when they play at home
The intro beat is haaaaard, is there a longer version? Who's it by? The big six intro needs to be longer. Get a rapper on this beat😬🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Ps as always great show and a great debate boys. Keep the content coming.
I agree, he did play more than 200 fewer games than people like Dani Alves, Zanetti and Roberto Carlos which is why Lahm is the one being debated with Cole and Marcelo
I stopped watching this show as soon as I read your comment - The fact Ash Cole isn't in their list is a madness. Stinky take from the boys this time 'round
It would be nice to see some of these players in a modern back 3. Lahm, turam, koleman, cannovaro, Ramos, maldini, would be amazing on either side of the CB
1. Paulo Maldini 2. Ashley Cole 3. Philipp Lahm 4. Cafu 5. Roberto Carlos 6. Dani Alves I value defensive ability a bit more than attacking ability, which explains why Cole is so high on the list and Carlos is lower.
Lilian Thuram for Six. Cheers Turkish & co, but "all time greatest" is a massive statement. Hurts me to say it but Cole was a better defender than Marcelo😎👍
Left back: Roberto Carlos, paolo maldini, Bixente Lizarazu, ashley cole, marcelo. Honorable mentions: Serginho and dennis irwin Right back: Cafu, Zanetti, Lahm, thuram, and Dani alves. Honorable mentions: zambrotta and salgado This is my list out all the players I watched
Cafu is the most-capped Brazilian men's player of all time with 142 appearances, including a record 20 World Cup games. He has won two World Cups in 1994 and 2002, as well as being the only player to participate in three World Cup final matches. Alves might be more technical but ain't no Brazilian picking him over Cafu.
These guys are quite intelligent and interesting.. Dani Alves is Phillip Lahm2.0.. You can say the former to the latter is basically what Brazil is to Germany in football and style. #Samba #King
1) madini . 2) cafu . 3) r carlos . 4) zanetti . 5) lahm These are the same lads whk didn't even mention Oliver Kahn in the goalkeeper talk . Maldini on this list again as he's the goat

Cole

Marcelo
Complete wrong convo ... right back and left back need to be separate
Facts
It’s only fair that way.
not really? full back means both sides. this would be true if the title was best "right backs" then yeah it should only be right backs
There just trying to keep the shows tight. Like 20/20 cricket instead of a test match 😂
@@balance1619 but you don’t compare wingers as a whole. It should be LW / RW. Therefore it should be LB / RB
Cafu personally made me love playing fullback in school. What a player.
I swear there's always a moment 1/2 way through these where Saeed says "I think I've fucked up" 😂
What makes the Carlos free kick better for me is the ball boy ducking before it curled back in. Best free kick of all time .
Saeed probably included Wan Bissaka and Luke Shaw🤣🤣😂
He will include the neville brothers and other united players as hes biased
I have never seen Lahm having below 7 game. That guy was consistent to a tee. Never had a red card in his career.
That intro is so cold 🥶

Not over Lahm tho
Matisse “I’m thinking attacking fullbacks that’s why Lahm isn’t on my list” Has Cole in his top 5 😂😂
Not gonna lie I prefer these videos sometimes, its nice to see the lads getting on together 🤣
This show is special 👏
Zambrotta slept on
to go the whole video without mentioning zambrotta is crazy

4. Cafu
5. Lahm
6. Cole
Honourable Mentions:
Krol, Thuram, Zambrotta, Djalma Santos, Marcelo.
And Irwin
Maldini
Good list but Cafu ahead of zanetti and Ashley Cole ahead of lahm
Should have LB and RB on different lists too many big names.
Saeed thought he done something when he said lilian thuram 😂😂
Thuram was outstanding, it wasn't a bad shout
Right backs: Left backs:
Zambrotta Carlos
Zanetti Irwin
Thuram Cole

His prime was as fullback tho

Not sure how seriously I can take these guys after last time they did this they had Maldini as a centre back rather than a full back.

yup ambidextrous is hands lolol
Pep put Lahm inverted, how was it not Pep that did that

Javier Zanetti better be brought up!
Why isn't this video in the Live section or the Videos section
No Marcelo in the top 5 is an absolute howler. 5 time CL winner, 6 times in the FIFA World XI, he should be there instead of Lahm.
