I just told my wife that you should have a hundred thousand subscribers. Your book and videos are outstanding
Patrick! I couldn’t agree with you more. 😂 hopefully RUclips’s algorithm will figure it out sooner or later. Thanks for the support!
Papaya for sure. I'm in my 70th year and have been listening to and playing piano all my life.. and still I learn from you Jeremy!
Papayaaaaaaa!! Wow, I'm so thankful for your videos. I can keep re-watching them and learn so much.

Thanks so much, Christine! Looking forward to getting back to work with you soon!
23:30 love it. You should have a video on this technique if you didn’t make one already
Lovely playing a pleasure to hear you
Thanks so much, Peter! (And apologies it took me so long to respond)
Jeremy sir id love if u can make a video on improvise with right hand chords like I see many jazz pianists who dont only improvise lead lines but also play improvise chords on their right hand pls
An incredible amount of information for free. Recommended for every jazz musician.
Thanks much, Paul!!!
Another fabulous lesson. So happy to keep learning from you. Beautiful playing. Like your sense of orchestration and melody with back phrasing.
Thanks, Marilyn!!!
You're the best teacher on youtube, thank you! 🙏
Thanks so much, Hoang! I appreciate you!
It's really great how you show us the different styles of ballads. Now I know that it's style #2 that I like best and I will focus on learning that. Thank you Jeremy!
Nice! Thanks, Rachel. I love thinking of the specifics of these ballad categories because there are so many different ways to play a ballad. :)
Oooh but that bar room barrel house rollicking thing is also super awesome
Stay tuned for the next ballad style! We will be talking stride piano ballads!
Hi Ho! Hi Ho! Off to the piano I go...Back Phrasing? Yup! Thank you for the post. And need to listen to Ballads 1 & 3.
Awesome - happy practicing!
Great lesson ! Thanks !!!
A great video, full of informations. Thanks.
Thanks, Marco! I'm glad you liked it. :)

Fantastic, Theo! Enjoy! Thanks for supporting this channel from the *very* early days. :)
Terrific! Pineapple 😀
Great stuff again Jeremy. By coincidence, I have just been learning this tune, so this is really really useful. Thanks very much!
Perfect! Thanks for the comments, Michael! :)
Terrific papayas today!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Michael! Great to hear from you. Thanks for checking out the videos. Let me know if you're ever in Socal - it would be great to catch up!
@@JeremySiskind Sounds great - will do!
Papaya!! Great video! Lots of useful instructions. Studied this stuff already from your book, but it's really good to see this demonstrated in this clear way. I am just preparing for a master class with Fred Hersch, where I plan to apply this to a ballad (Infant Eyes). By the way, your book is so great! I bought it about two years ago, and it started me going back to serious practicing. Before I had just "played" for a couple of years. Now I am back on the "journey".
Wow, that’s so amazing to hear. Have fun playing for Fred and say hi for me!
Excellent video! After watching, I was able to apply some of the ideas to my practicing. 🌴 🍐 (pawpaw)
Nice work, Don! Thanks for watching all the way to the end!
Papaya 👍 you rock
Papaya (aka Paw-Paw in the Antipodes)
PAPAYAA! I've only listened to the Koln concert by Keith Jarret. What other albums would you recommend? Thanks for being an awesome teacher! :)
Oh man, I've got a long list in my book. My favorite ballads album is Keith jarrett's "The Melody at Night with You." Monk's "Alone in San Francisco" is great, Fred Hersch's "Songs Without Words" is a wealth of resources, Oscar Peterson's "Exclusively for My Friends," Bill Evans' "Alone." The list goes on and on.
I'd like to purchase your book, but do I get a free papaya with it?
Haha…I’m not sure I have shipping capabilities…
I’m first. This is awesome. :)
Nice! Make sure to stay until the end for the secret word! 🤐
PAPAYA!!!!!!!!!
Dang. Your commitment is impressive, Reed!
@@JeremySiskindThese videos from you are amazing! I studied with Mike Longo (RIP) for 8 years (80's through 90's), and that was COMPLETELY life changing. That having been said, what you're offering here is on the level of what Mike had to impart to me. I'm getting SO much out of these videos of yo, and I'm beyond grateful that you're sharing this knowledge. Thank you SO much!
Pineapples and papayas 😎🔥😎
