We don't have Law Schools in Australia. Law degrees are completed at Uni. This will include periods of time working as a trainee in a practice and most likely also later completing a traineeship/ cadetship in a solicitors' office, or similar. Every Australian who goes to Uni is eligible for an interest free student loan. 😊 of course some of those loans are larger than others, but reflect the incremental earning capacity of the qualification. The loan repayment is not taken from your salary until you are earning over a certain amount (I think it is currently around Aud$45,000) and there is no set number of years by which it mist be paid off. As it is interest free it is probably the most positive debt around.
