Is this VWAP strategy of predicting future market direction, after piercing the 2 standard deviation, better or worse than looking for the same piercing strategy in Bollinger bands with the same standard deviation of 2? Any back testing of at least 100 trades on both?
Bollinger Bands are based purely on price so differs in that it doesn't include volume. VWAP is traditionally use for intraday. Back testing is not a valid way of verifying a trading strategy.
This is the day trading/scalping strategy that I use in addition to using cycle & momentum indicators & I'm making consistent daily profits from it. 💰👍
@@aramokurdo I see what the momentum is on a higher time frame, then trade in that direction. For example, if the market I'm trading is moving higher that day, I wait for the price to dip, then look for a re-trace move back to the upside. But ultimately, you have to find what your personal trading style is & which indicators work best for you. Keep studying & practicing with a small amount & when you become consistently successful, then scale up. I hope that helps. All the best to you!
I've never understood all the hype about the VWAP. Even though I've heard it tracks the institutional money, it always seemed so vague and ungrounded to me, like I'm trading off the 20 SMA with no other indicators to provide confluence. The traders on RUclips who only use the VWAP seem like they have some kind of mystical insight that I'm lacking. This video finally brings some clarity and "definition" to this indicator, thank you, Barry.

Can vwap be used with currencies and tick volume?
I haven't tried that. It's traditionally used for stocks with time based bars.

Yes, it's possible to anchor VWAP to most any time you want.
