Well 6 years ago, i had a bad crash as rather a beginner and from that time on was riding a seat harness (which doesnt press on your ribs after hurting them) .. which by far i think for usual kiting is the most comfortable.. only you miss agillity of your legs. But now, after beeing able to do double frontrools, double backrolls and darkslides and so on.. i start doing smal kiteloops. (to give an impression of my skill level at the moment... ruclips.net/video/UmfPhaQM1CA/видео.html )
Well i am 55 now and have a usual computer work, so i am not that muscular and have to pay attention to not kill me.. But..
I am thinking of learning higher kiteloops now, and i think, these harnesses give you more control in the air, because, your position while getting dragged through the air, is more straight (yes seat harnesses look ugly). How it looks like wouldnt bother me. but i want it saver... . only thing, when i tried out the harness of a friend it was suuuuuper uncomfortable because it allways with such harnesses presses more on your ribs as with a seat harness. so it feels that you cant breath as well as with a seat harness. but still its maybe only something of getting used to it again
So what s your opinion on this topic?

Well you are right, a seat harness will be more comfortable if cruising because you are basically sitting in it. The uncomfortable or disfunctional part of a seat harness becomes the point where you require more mobility or you want the position of pull to be more central to your mass.
My recommendation is to try as many harnesses as you can, they don't all fit or feel the same.
I have a very straight body (hips, ass, legs) and my harness can actually slide off me even when tight if I crash wrong, this is one of the reasons I'm not the biggest fan of super stiff hardshells, a softer shell will comform to you body better.
The other thing to consider is that the spreader bar pad (thing under the hook) comes in all different shapes and softneses etc. I usually always switch my hook and spreader bar pad to an old one that I like how it works and I also like how padded it is, I find many new harnesses super uncomfortable just because of this...
Really there's no easy answer for you, you just need to try a few different configurations until you find something that works for you.
