We got our store, beautifully, remodeled and less than a week later a homeless man fell asleep in the bathroom and the fire department had to use a ax to break the frosted glass door. He was naked and screaming all while small children looked on. Not to mention baristas being stabbed by needles. Starbucks is only concerned about their own image and how they look to the public not about their employees.
I won’t even use the bathroom at a place if I’m not purchasing something, even if we’re in a long car trip. Those accommodations are customers, not just random rif raf.
I thought this was already a rule. I always buy something when I stay in there. Doesn't make sense not to. Why would I take up table space for free? What happened? You getting tired of the riff raff? But come one, this is what you are stiving for, saving the world with over priced lousy coffee. But hey, someone needs to hire these people. Disneyland?
You shouldn't be in Starbucks if you're not a customer!
Finally an intelligent comment THANK YOU!!😊
Better yet, make it members only.
Right get the mark of the beast or something eye roll
Costco did this. I agree with it (Costcos decision to make it members only, not Starbucks)
Good way for Starbucks to go bankrupt
membership to buy Starbucks? lol. go for it Einstein
Fantastic idea. And make them compete for tiers of membership!
If you're unhappy with their decision then by all means open your door.
It's a business not a charity or homeless shelter. Makes sense to me.
It’s about time! That open door policy was turning Starbucks into homeless hangouts
Good,i supported 100%. If you not going to buy something, then stay outside.
And give them 30min restricted time too...its not a Lounge
None of the Starbucks by me even have chairs cuz they know the hobos will live in there. You have to stand and drink coffee. 🤣
Legally, the land of global cafes are privately owned. Thus the landlord or in this case the Starbucks cafe (tenant) have the legal right to call the police to evict anyone. Same principle for malls, and tourist attractions.
they always try to catch up just to inch along to try to pretend that they’re becoming more for the people. What a joke. Where were you for the last several years? Joke
They were woke. They couldn't afford it anymore, That's the joke
What's the point of drinking coffee if you drink decaf???? (rolls eyes.)
Just go to the library and buy a coffee at McDonald's or the gas station. Wifi is free at the library 8f you need it that much. They even have meeting rooms people can use for free
Libraries be congested.. this don't even feel like America
Americans in a library lol.
@@cmdrls212 Yes. They actually have great libraries and plenty Americans in there. People really think terrible about Americans based on what a few ones do. Best to know folks individually.
No using drugs?! How novel.
I like to stop at Starbucks when on road trips to use their restroom, but I always buy something first.
The 2 guys from 2018 didn't buy anything sat at a table being rude to staff and refused to leave. Starbucks fired the manager that called the police on them. Glad to see starbucks is seeing the light and doing whats right by their paying customers not free loaders
Thanks l knew there was more to the story. 😊
I agree, the coffee shop or restaurant has to pay rent for the amount of space that they own and if they have people that are there, but don’t buy anything that’s taking up space for the customers.
Why anyone would go to Starbucks for any reason is beyond me. Burnt, over-priced coffee? No thanks.
If you want a coffee ☕ and a washroom at Starbucks. Please follow the instructions.
I see good and bad in this. Better check on my stocks after this announcement. It has come to this now, ever changing in our society.
They should not have had an open doorto begin with. Why do you want a bunch of people in your stores who are not customers?
Having to make this a policy should not be needed, Starbucks and other customer based businesses are not the Jimmy Hale Mission. For the safety of customers and employees, I commend Starbucks and other businesses for executing this policy.
In NYC Starbucks took away the furniture so no one could sit down.
Every Starbucks in my city has been remodeled to be unwelcoming to “customers”. Indoor cafe space lessened, no patio. They no longer foster a space to enjoy a cup of coffee of get work done. It’s get you drink and GTFO. So I haven’t been since.
I had to meet with an investigator from our company for an audit. We met at Starbucks for 2 hours and neither one of us bought anything lol
Why

"No (r)aping" allowed?!? 🤔
She means to say vaping but I think she did say it with an r.
It’s about time !! It’s a business NOT a library !
Strange move, for a business that cries about poop on the sidewalk.
The loop hole; everyone will be sitting down with a water that Starbucks provides for free.
keyword is "paying" 👈
Hey, let's also start charging bus fare. 😀
Goodbye bums on buses in Albuquerque.
Starbucks is a BUSINESS. Its not a charity. If you are not buying anything, GET OUT.
Gotta flip the script before Orange Man Bad gets back in office LOL weird
the orange clown has better things to do like ripping off the middle class again
You always thinking about the convicted felon is weird, enbred
I thought this was standard at most businesses. I would have never thought to sit in a business to use their wifi and restrooms without being a paying customer. That's just rude!
I had no idea that Starbucks even had that policy to begin with. I always thought just like everywhere else I’ve gone to you have to buy something in order to sit and enjoy or use the restroom..😂
some dudes caused a big stink because Starbucks didn't let them use the restroom... pulled the race card and then the policy was changed.. now the results of that have been bad so they are changing it back
Not a deal for me either I have bought stuff before using the bathroom).
Instead of being cruel and trashing on people that are unfortunate enough not to have a home or shelter, why don't we do something about it.
If you talk to enough of these " unfortunate people" you find out they choose to live that way.
Furthermore, since when is it an adults duty to make sure another adult is taken care of?
Their coffee sucks had one cup never went back .
McD's has great coffee at a quarter the price.
20 years ago this was common sense, since then they have reinvented the wheel and circling back to the same thing thats been taught for generations
Apparently, recent generations have not been passing on common sense.
About time. I worked at one of the busiest stores in the Seattle district. We had two single bathrooms that I wouldn’t even be able to use because there would be someone locked in for hours.
"Loitering" laws will now be reinforced.....
Seattle is gonna call the police. That's the funniest thing that I've heard. The police in seattle wont even show up.. 😂😂😂😂
All those corporations who jumped on board with wokeness are finding out that wokeness doesn't pay the bills.
Imagine my shock.
This could be move that broke the camel back.
Woke that broke the camel's back.
I won’t even use the bathroom at a place if I’m not purchasing something, even if we’re in a long car trip. Those accommodations are customers, not just random rif raf.
8 dollars for a coffee who cares
I thought this was already a rule. I always buy something when I stay in there. Doesn't make sense not to. Why would I take up table space for free? That slows down their business, and it's disrespectful. I even buy another small item if I end up staying for a long time (longer than two hours). It wouldn't be right for me to take up table space in such a small area if I'm not going to support the business.
next step is to raise coffee prices to $10 a cup
Don't give the ceo pigs any ideas
Only in Seattle or everywhere?
New company policy. Everywhere.
They are asking for a discrimination lawsuits. And I live in a city where it's half white and half Mexican and Mexican American. Who do you think gets treated like crap??? The white people or the Mexican/ Mexican Americans/ Hispanic people???
i've seen people sitting in a starbucks eating chinese food - starbucks is doing the right thing - the customers certainly aren't going to complain ..
Did they have a latte with their Chinese food?
@@angelalamb5624 nope - i talked to one of the employees - she said people do it all the time ..
There doing what every normal establishment does. They were moronic for their open door policy in the first place.
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand at Starbucks
Omg!!! Lol good luck with that!
A private business isn't a public accommodation
The only ones complaining are the bums that can't shower there anymore.
Starbucks should remove all tables and chairs and wifi and restrooms only for employees.. people will still come and buy your products
Good for starbucks
I don't drink, nor support Starbucks but I do support this decision. Safety must always come first for everyone.
thank you Starbucks
I usually buy something if i go into a resturant/establishment as courtesy
Now thats funny 🎉
The homeless and the migrants have destroyed every Starbucks in Colorado. You can’t find one with the table so sad.
Californians have destroyed Colorado. It’s become a haven for the weird and maladjusted.

Californians have significantly changed Colorado, transforming it into a hub for unconventional and eccentric lifestyles.
keep voting blue, your stores turn into zoos 😂
I think it needs to be more than Starbucks, it needs to be more restaurants as well. Yeah Libraries are perfect places.
