The reason you are taking damage is: A. you have logia invulnerability turned off B. The captain is using haki (yes they can use haki and so can some pirate and bandit brutes as well as trainers if you punch them, I have seen the trainers use full body armorment haki) C. you are standing in water even if only for a short amount of time D. you aren't immune to explosives E. some devil fruit abilities can damage you without the usage of haki
Caesar Clowns DF is actually extremely OP, hes just not a good user of it. Imagine if someone with actual speed and combat skill had the ability to take away all the oxygen in your vicinity, Yonko durability wouldnt even matter
I wouldn’t say Cesar’s devil fruit is bad. I actually think it’s quite good if trained properly. Work on radius, not power. That way you can play out the fruits strengths quite well, making it virtually impossible someone without Haki. Cause logia and cause there is more than one way that controlling gasses can kill one

what i want is for actual stuff to do, only thing to do is get stronger and find devil fruits. there aren't structues, no quests/story mode. i would like at the very least dbc level of stuff to do.

You can make a crew do you cant damage eachother by shift rightclicking sake, then right clicking someone holding out an empty sake cup while you are holding put sake. Once they drink it they are in your crew.
btw gasu gasu in mine mine no mi is really good and your lucky that you got that from an iron box i was trying to get a logia from golden boxes but i was getting trashy straw fruits

And also by combining 3 dials of the same type and combining them you can make an enchanted weapon
And theres a fruit at towards the top of the base in the chests
