Thanks Woody. My GPX 4000 also has the mylar popped up. I don't think its GB drifts. It has had the paint removed from the case, I used a power sander, quicker and easier.
Could you read the input into the CPU coming from Authenticator and replicate the confirmation signal or data to trick the detector into working with an after market coil? I like your method of using the dongle

It’s not that easy.
So does this mean that the coils are matched to the machine , ie you cant swap a coil from another 6000 ?
Not matched, it’s only a communication protocol.
If this is a issue, don't buy the 6000. Simple answer. Many other MD from ML that can be used in place of the 6000 are just as good with proper mods.
