  • Discover the fascinating world of aquaponics at Nayong Kalikasan Farm! What started as a simple hobby has blossomed into one of the main attractions of our agri-tourism tours. Our aquaponics system not only captivates visitors but also offers a hands-on experience. Guests can harvest fish that are later served fresh during lunch at the farm!
Aquaponics combines aquaculture (raising fish) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil). The fish produce nutrient-rich waste that fertilizes the plants, while the plants naturally clean the water for the fish, creating a sustainable, self-sufficient ecosystem. Our aquaponics system is unique because we practice sustainable farming by feeding our fish with plant-based food like duckweed, azolla, and Gynura plants.
The use of Gynura as fish food provides numerous benefits. It's packed with nutrients, helping to improve the overall health of the fish and reduce reliance on commercial fish feed, which lowers environmental impact. Learn more about this innovative and eco-friendly system and how it plays a vital role in our farm's mission of sustainability!
