The absolute pride and joy of West 'by God' Virginia. Man it was good to see him and see that he's doing well. Mountaineer country will never see magic like Pat White and Steve Slaton again.
The golden age of WVU football God how i miss that era
Interview we’ve all been waiting for. Bring on Darius Reynaud, Steve slaton, Noel Devine and Owen Schmidt on plz
Tavon austin
Baltimore loves Tavon Austin.
Schmitt*
Noel Devine was nasty
Yes please
The pat white era was really something. White, slaton, Devine, Schmitt, etc. what a combo.
I'm from West Virginia and that was a memorable time that made me a pat McAfee fan for life. The memories of Morgantown on gameday will always stand out to me. That NCAA football game at that time was a cheat code with white and slaton.
Pat White is my all time favorite athlete , football play ever. So much entertainment from those 4 years at WVu. I still watch the Fiesta bowl and Sugar bowl games time to time and relive the glory days. Thanks Pat for the great football. Lets retire his jersey already. Let's go Mountaineers !
Grew up watching Mr White and Slaton do magic on the field, just wanted to thank you guys for some of the best college football memories I’ve ever had. You guys were unstoppable and magical to watch. Can’t believe that it’s taken to now for teams to just try and replicate what you all had mastered, which has help the great game evolve into what we have today. Big thanks again Mr White for the great memories you have gave me. Best RPO QB ever Mr Pat White🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉
I was grad student at WVU during this run... had a young freshman Pat White in one of the classes I was a TA... great years overall in Morgantown too... basketball teams were fire 🔥 and we ruled the old Big East for better part of a decade... Cheers, Beers and Mountaineers!
I got there in 06 as a transfer and loved the next two seasons. Some of the best times of my life.
HELL YEA
Growing up watching these guys play for us in West Virginia was just so inspiring!! I have enjoyed every moment and reminisce on the older WVU times 😢😢
As a Louisville fan I always had a ton respect for WVU back during that time, WVU was one of the only schools I put names on the players on EA NCAA football games. Always rooted for WVU against other teams.
Was up in Morgantown during those years as well. Adam Bednarik was the QB that went down with an injury. Pat came in and played the exact same style, but FASTER and we knew Bednarik was never coming back in. Slash, Dash and Bash the backfield of White, Slayton and Schmitt. What a time to be a Mountaineer!
My son was in both Iraq and Afghanistan during this time. It was a stressful time for this USAF mom. The only time I could get that worry out of my mind is when Pat White and his fellow players took to the field. Pat, you don't know how much I appreciate those three hours a week when "my adopted sons" gave their best to bring honor and victory to my beloved Mountaineers. God bless you in all your endeavors.
LEGEND absolute legend. Pat White was one of my favorites growing up. ELECTRIC on the field. So glad to see he's doing well. Much love Pat White!
Electrifying is right. Nobody was funner or more of a privilege to watch than Pat White. One of the greatest!
Respect to pat.......this dude is great
THE GREATEST YEARS AT WVU!!!!!!!!!!! PAT WHITE GOAT OF WVU!!!!
Him and Slaton were my idols!
The pat white Era of W.V.U. was the most exiting. Track stars on offense plus a giant full back who loved contact. Awesome to watch.
Bruh I played so much NCAA football with Pat White and Steve Slayton. 🔥💯
Pat and Slaton were on another level
This just reminds me how much we NEED a new NCAA football game
I was at WVU 02-07. I always say we are the defacto 08 National Champs. We would have beaten Ohio St but OK had to get it instead. Best years ever and Pat White should be in the WVU hall of fame!
If they didn’t lose to pitt
Pat white is one of the greatest college football players of all time and a West Virginia legend
Backyard brawl 07. I had WVU friends that already bought tickets to the national championship before the Pitt game lol.
Pat white seems like such a nice guy. Makes me want to do better in life
One of the greats, you and Pat both. I was born a Mountaineer and will die one. I am very thankful to all the thrills you guys gave me and all the true Wv fans. Thanks!!!
He was & always will be my favorite!!!! 💙💛
My first mountaineer game ever was the "White out" pats final home game! Still have the white out towell id love to have pat white sign it!!
Both of you all were my best memories of wv football, hands down !!!
I used to love using that team on ncaa lol pat white and Steve Slayton and Noel divine and then a few years later geno Smith, tavon Austin, and Stedman vailey
I live in Utah and this was one of my favorite teams in college football history
Lol I haven’t heard his name in a long while I’m glad to see he’s doing well
Love Pat White. As a USF grad, I remember watching him play quite a bit. I wasn’t supposed to be a fan of a rival, but I loved watching him. As a Dolphin fan, I was really excited we drafted him. I felt like he didn’t get a true shot. I remember people saying he was “too small,” and then they felt justified when there was that fluke helmet to helmet (which could have knocked a 6’5 guy out as well). If they developed guys like they do now, I think Miami might have been a much different team. I would have much rather rolled with White than Henne. That’s for sure.
Wow
He’s a legend
been waiting a long time for this. pat white steve slaton were the OG's of NCAA Football
So much love for Pat💛💙
Greatest all around QB in WVU history!!
The greatest ever pat white
I live in West Virginia remember these guys playing very well. Would love to ask these two if the think Rich Rodriguez though the Pitt game. As a fan I think he did. Always wondered if the players thought so.
Pat white, Noel Devine, Darius Reynaud, Steve Slayton.
Pat White was amazing bro! He was too soon for his time
Dominate is an adjective? Hm, thought it was a verb, and DOMINANT an adjective.
Need to have him as a recurring guest.
I was working in the mines and switched shifts so I could drive from Princeton to go to a MD Thursday night game then drove back to Princeton got home slept 3 hours drove to Grundy VA back to the mines. Yes WVU KICKED MD’s ass!!!
The LEGEND 🙌 #5
Damn shame they lost to Pitt that year. That offense was 🔥
Ugh....i was there. With all the heartbreak.
Wow a name i havent heard since high school ryan stanchek. I remember him being huge compared to us high schoolers when he showed up in the weight room.
Crazy that Fridge pulled that scholarship I remember being a Maryland fan hearing non stop about it , and wow how did Pat make less money in the nfl than Pat White lol you’d think Vick would’ve opened the door for that
Played against him in baseball our senior year in a tournament during spring break. He hit a piss missile over right field fence. Another team had the Rasmus brothers. We got drummed
I mean that’s just an incredible interview I don’t know what else to say
Let's get Pat white to Indy!
*dominant
Used to wake up before school hop on ncaa and just qb option with pat white
That Ike Taylor hit was career ending remember as a kid seeing that hit
Daphne represent!
I hope Neal Brown pays attention to what Pat White does this season.
Dominant*
I only know boise creek bc of Rhett and Link
Buies creek. That’s where the good mythical morning dudes are from
Holy crap he dropped Darius' name
Buies Creek, NC shaht aht Rhett & Link
My era💯
GOAT
Best case scenario is colts getting Minshew
I think he would have been a pretty good QB for the phins if not for the injury
About time
Pat is 36 but looks 22 lol
Tony Gibson to WVU
Lol anyone remember that one year in the video game they made him a right handed quarterback?
Pat was great, but never poo poo Major Harris!
I rembember playing video games with him running all over the field
I don't think Pat White remembers losing to the USF BULLS at Raymond James stadium!!!
I thought he died in a phins uniform!?!
I’m still pissed that Steelers didn’t get a flag for killing Pat White. Looked like a helmet to helmet hit to me
Most electrifying player? I thought you meant Matt Grothe after what he did to WV in 2007. Go Bulls!!! 🤘🏻
I remember pat getting blasted back 10 yards while playing for the dolphins 🐬😳
He was decimated in miami
I remember Pat White getting turned into a corpse by Ike Taylor live. Wild
Wasted nfl draft pick but was bomb in college
The amount of grown, "college educated" folks that don't know the difference between "dominate" and "dominant" is baffling.
Ike Taylor ruined him
I thought Ike Taylor killed him lol
Pat just getting everyone as a guest at this point and I'm all for it.
Facts
If only we knew where’d we be now😂
Haven’t heard of him and Slayton in awhile, man they ran college football. It’s a shame neither popped off in the pros. Good to see him doing well.
and you havent even talked about the receivers and schmitt, i legit thought he was gonna be the next mike alstott
It's crazy because they played for the same team in the NFL just never at the same time.
The Dolphins severely fucked him by primarily drafting him for the wildcat formation, then he took that hit in the Steelers game
I disagree on Steve Slaton. Had a great rookie year with 1650+ yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his career, but you have that kind of year without talent.
White was a tweener in the pros and too small to play qb
I still have nightmares of this guy playing my Georgia Bulldogs in Sugar Bowl
I was like 8 and fr cried lmao
Fake punt
As a lifelong Louisville fan, that was the peak of Louisville football. And I gotta tell ya, watching this unknown third string QB come in and light us up in a game that was basically in hand and determining the Big East champion was something to see. Then seeing it again against Georgia was wild…I just remember my jaw hanging down that whole first half.
I didn’t even realize the epic Thursday night game in Louisville the next year basically gave me this show that I listen to as an adult man. Great stuff!
Those Louisville teams were great too
What a great time in the Big East! In college football in general. Brian Brohm use to eat us up over the middle man. Harry Douglas was great, they were some awesome battles to watch
Those Thursday night big east games were awesome. It was a great time for college football.
Even though you might not ever read this you were and still are the face of WVU football and will be thank you for all you done for 4 West Virginia football and the entire state by-the-way great show mr. Pat McAfee I love that entire team was great as a retired West Virginia coal we looked forward to this every weekend thank you thank you. 💯🏈
Watching you guys was the best I was born here dad took me to my first game at 3 years old 1984 I was 7 when Harris did he's thing so I got to see you all when I was 24 -28 and you guys did wvu justice putting us on the map can't thank you all enough enjoyed watching every game
I will never forget using him on NCAA football games . One of my all time favorite players.
Even though they made him Right handed! LOL
@@jayw5497 yup and if i remember right you can't even edit it lol
@@jayw5497 omg I forgot lmao
@@jayw5497 so I don't remember about the games of 08 and before because i haven't played those in forever, but I pulled out the ole ps2 a couple months ago and Pat is actually a lefty on 09. It surprised me bc i thought they made him a righty too but they got him as a lefty in 09, at least on ps2
The NCAA football games were made for these kinds of teams
Pat White, Darren McFadden, and Jahvid Best in college were amazing to watch. Don’t get their just due when we talk about some great college players that don’t get talked about.
Dam rip jahvid not only did he go to a top 2 worst franchise but injuries. Rip and go Cali bears 💯
Don't forget Steve Slaton. That dude was bad. Him and then Tavon Austin.
I agree with all of you on these comments. This was in my opinion when college football was at its most entertaining. For me at least
Pat White and Noel Devine were my introduction to football in college. LET'S GO MOUNTAINEERS!
@@saggeedt9036 Noel was a bad dude. Sad he never got a shot in the NFL
Almost Heaven, West Virginia
I was lucky enough to be a WVU student the same 4 years these guys were there. It was a great time to be a WVU football fan....now it's just pain
Hey from the sunnyside superette.
I was there for a year of Pat and 3 of Geno, those were the days
I think this year will be fun to watch, not feeling great about basketball though
Shame Ike Taylor put him in early retirement. Those Steelers dB's during the Troy polamalu days were vicious.
Dolphins fans thought he died on field
@@International_man_of_mystery it definitely didn't look good. Don't get me wrong, as a Steelers fan, it fired me up hearing that impact.
yeah weird moment when your a steelers fan and wvu fan
I was there @ Syracuse and witnessed Pat White get his 1st victory!
Morgantown was full of life and the entire state of west virginia loved those teams back in the early 2000's.
Congrats on a baby boy.... get that football in his hands and send him to morgantown in 18 years.
LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!
Pat White and Reggie Bush are my all time favorite college players. I wore number 5 my whole life because of them. Hope Pat succeeds and becomes HC somewhere some day soon.
Reggie Bush at USC was wild. He was must see tv. I remember staying up until midnight to watch those west coast games. Them USC teams were nasty.
@@JW-28 I’m tellin u bro. I remember u watched that Fresno state play live on a Saturday night🤣 Reggie best college player I’ve seen
A shame what WVU football has become
Love Pat White, class act when I attended WVU!!! N Mcafee “good one Patrick”. Miss those times.
This whole interview put a smile on my face. I'll never forget that era in Morgantown. I got to watch so many of those games in person and those teams were just unstoppable.
Love seeing you talk to your old teammates and coaches Pat. I’d love to hear what’s going on with that old beer truck Owen Schmidt.
White was ridiculous...
Man the glory days of WVU football. Get Slaton, Devine, Austin, Darius, and Schmitt on there next!
Greatest Mountaineer of all time (I’m too young for Major lol)
