I would like to second this request. We have an 06 BIgfoot B25RQ. We searched for this specific model for a few years until we found one, and although we live in Canada, we traveled to the states to get it. We sought it out for its (dare I say it) legendary quality. I would love to get Jacob's take on build quality. Love the videos.
We are on our second used Taylor Coach, as we moved up from a 12 ft to a 19 ft. Contemplating joining the wait list for a new one, as the Taylors customize each coach to your desired specs. Couldn't be happier with the quality and customer service. The Taylors are always willing to help with advice and repairs to the older coaches, which they are proud to say they build for life. They don't advertise or go to RV shows as their happy customers are their salesforce!
I just heard of Taylor RV last year via another canadian who bought one. After she picked it up, she raved about how thrilled she was by its build quality, n customer service of this manufacturer. It’s just so nice to hear of some good quality builds. 🍻
Would love to see a review of the Safari Condo Alto products. They are another Canadian manufacturer. Aluminum construction. Very lightweight. They also have a very long wait time to get one.
I've owned 2 Taylor coaches, they are fantastic products and the Taylors stand behind their RVs An amazing company with amazing service, even out of warranty, they are extremely helpful
My husband and I did about 2 years of research on light weight trailers and finally settled on a Taylor Coach. This summer will be our 4th with our 13' (or 12' XL I believe Brad Taylor called it! 😁) and I am already looking forward to it. The extra foot allows us to have a sink in the shower/toilet combo bathroom, and on the opposite side, an extra foot of counter space. Every TC built is custom built to the owners' wishes. We've gone 5 days using solar power (lights) and propane for fridge, stove and water heater. We LOVE our TC!!
It is possible to buy an American made quality built travel trailer. We bought an Oliver fiberglass travel trailer and we are amazed at the quality. We are actually camping this weekend in 7 degree Fahrenheit weather and we are toasty warm! Would love to see you review an Oliver.
I had a Taylor Coach! Every trailer is custom built to the customers needs. They stand by their trailers. Great guys. Great service. If it wasn’t for the waiting list, I would definitely buy another.
I have a custom 2021 NikNat. I am currently off grid for the last 9 weeks and travelled 2500miles, with no issues, my first time solo but felt confident cuz Im towing a Taylor Coach! One thing you may not know about the ac on a TC is it is a 11.5btu, so it can be run off a 2000watt generator. Another thing which is my favorite thing about Taylor Coaches is the levelling jacks, not stabalizing jacks, so I just pull in and crank those babies and if one side has the tires 6" off the ground, so be it😂😂😂😂🙋♀️🛻🇨🇦❤️‼️
My 2018 Jayco Eagle HT 5th wheel had 3 plumbing leaks. The first I found was on the first camping trip and was in the bathroom sink P-trap where they didn't seal the joint with enough glue. I had to purchase a new P-trap and install it while travelling between parks. Wrote to Jayco where they told me that because I tampered with it my warranty was void. The second was an outside spray port where the connection was not tight, and water stared showing up in the front cargo area. I first thought it was rain water getting in through the cargo door. The 3 third was the toilet connection and just needed tightened. All this could have been avoided it quality mattered. But in the RV industry we have come to know that there's no quality.
Happy owner of Taylor coach, very well built, very simple interior no fancy tech gadgets, they only install proven and reliable parts not a single issue so far
I have a Taylor Coach and couldn’t be happier. The quality is amazing and they are great to work with. Well worth the wait for a new one or if you can find used as I did you won’t regret it
After a year and a half I was about to pull the trigger on a Coachman Beyond class B- then I saw the Pleasure Way On tour 2.2. Blown away! PW are made in Canada. That was a close one.
Thanks for your very thorough and comprehensive review. As a Taylor Coach owner, your evaluation is very reassuring that we made the right decision. Taylor Coach does not promote the bells and whistles. Brad and Nate asked us this question very early in our buying process....'Are you camping in it or living in it?' Follow up service has been outstanding. We have been very happy with our 17 ft custom coach and hope to continue our adventures for many years to come!
I would like to see you do an extensive indepth Talk about 4 season RV'S especially Bigfoot which is Canadian vs an American 4 season RV preferably motorhomes
Ive been doing plumbing for years. Ive fixed more leaks on the copper compression clamps on pex than the stainless steel pitch clamps. Ive found the stainless clamps are better suited for the environment of plumbing. They are also much easier to install.
Granted this is in a residential environment vs a RV. I'm not sure if they use different pitch clamps. The ones I use are very high quality stainless steel. Also I refuse to use brass pen fittings now unless they are #1 brass fittings. Most you buy now a days are #2 yellow brass which most have a class action lawsuit on them. Other wise stick to the poly pex fittings.
I live in the U.S., and when I was looking for a new truck camper in 2018, I went for the very well-built Canadian Bigfoot brand because I didn't want deal with the questionable workmanship and low budget construction materials commonly associated with American brands. The Canadian-built Bigfoots and Northern Lites are at the top of the class in quality, and typically last for decades. A fiberglass molded roof is superior to those crappy, high maintenance rubber roofs! And by the way - I still love my Bigfoot, 6 years later.
This exactly why we purchased a 14 foot custom Taylor coach 2023 We where looking at a lot of small cameras brand did lots of research We always come back to Taylor coach we very happy with the craftsmanship and service we getting from them Thank you Taylor coach for your great product Adi R
Thanks.😮 I bought a Jayco micro last year! I wish I had watched this or one like it before I purchased!! I have come to realize I may not have made the best purchase, because of what I have dealt with in repairs already and in watching this video!! 🤔🙄😏
We bought a 2022 Jayco 310 NP RLTS, 5th wheel brand new. Jayco warranty has covered any repairs. Great rig and we love it. Did add Sumo springs so doesn’t shake itself to death. Slide outs, always sync them when opening and closing. A lot of people don’t know this. Unfortunately, I’ll need to redo all the plumbing connectors. Love looking thru and catching your video’s👍
Interesting. In the US metal siding seems to be associated with lower end units. Long term wise I’ve seen a lot of reasonably well cared for fiberglass units loose their gloss and/or delaminate.
Looks like I can't post a photo in the comments. I have a 1979 Taylor Coach. My parents owned it before me and now I'm taking my kids camping in the very same trailer I camped in for pretty much all my life. It's an indescribable thrill to see my boys sleeping in the same bunk my brothers and I slept in.
I purchased a 2021 a 2023 jaco 264 and They all had crazy leaks no caulking stuck . American rv cant waterproof seams all hadwater dammage i return them. I got a trancend 247 all the seams had to be redone the rv barely spent a winter in the lot
Escape Trailer Industries makes the best trailers by far, built in British Columbia, built like a boat, I wager their lifespan is over 50 years with a little care.
Absorption vs 12v fridge was my big quandary when RV shopping. Went with 12v and couldn't be happier. We don't even have to empty the fridge/freezer in between trips. Just infinite, free fridge from solar.
Good comparison👍 Did not know about Taylor until now and I live in Ontario! Didnt think the pinch connectors were an issue,,,,, ok I watched your other vid on plumbing. it was the pinch used with pex connectors with that flexible tubing, got it👍 Cheers
We have a 1978 Wickes Empress C-class. We have a Dometic gas/electric fridge and have no issues with it. we had to live in it for a couple of months and no issues. Also no computer anything.
Nice video. What made you choose a Taylor camper? Is there an American equivalent to the Taylor? Do you have any other videos on Canadian travel travelers? Thanks for plugging your courses. I’m happy with my Gulf Stream Kingsport but I will be looking into your other videos. Do you know if you can purchase a travel trailer while in Canada and bring it back to the US? Or would it be too cost prohibitive? When I lived in MD and moved to NYS I had to pay taxes on my car when registering it for NYS. I said “What!!! I paid taxes on this when I bought it in MD.” They didn’t care. It’s a law. A stupid law.
I’m not sure it is a Canada vs. USA thing as much as a small custom builder versus a mass-market manufacturer. Although, when we come across the older Canadian brands like Travelaire, they are almost always in better condition than US trailers of the same era.
Would you please review this travel trailer: Keystone Bullet 253RDS. It has a fantastic rear dinette layout, and is relatively light weight. I believe that this is the mid-level model of three similar models, including the Cougar 25RD (higher level), and the Passport 252RD (base level). Really enjoy all of your reviews! Thanks.
I'd love to! Not sure when I will be able to find one but I can keep an eye out this year. If you are looking to buy sooner, I really recommend buying my RV Shopping Course. This will be the fastest way for you to get my grade on that RV. My ebook will walk you through step by step what to look for, and the grading app will help you get an instant assessment. Here is the link for you to see how it can help, undercoverrvshopper.com/
I've spoken to Brad ( Taylor) a couple of times - we're working up to replacing ours with a Taylor Coach. You're right, they are not flashy, but they are built correctly, when most mass-produced trailers are slapped together as cheaply as they can get away with. Brad told me thier trailers are intended to be generational, 30 - 40 years of use, and passed on to your kids or grandkids. The other thing you only touched on is, because they use real wood in thier construction, they are ridiculously lighter than anything else the same size. This opens up trailer ownership to people who don't want to have a larger for towing. There is an older video on thier youtoob channel that shows the complete assembly of a trailer in time lapse. I'm amazed you found a used one, they are pretty rare, around here at least. Or if they come up for sale, it doesn't stay that way very long.
I think this sort of review is helping me be more assured that my19 year old Bigfoot, Canadian built trailer will hopefully pan out to have been a good investment.
Lol, I just got a 40 yo Bigfoot. The thing that impresses me is any other 40yo RV would have had TONS of rot. Yes this had a little, but was somewhat easy to repair, and it just keeps going. The way these things were made, they were meant to last.
We have a 2022 StarCraft 212fb! We have enjoyed it so far and as of today we are at the first year mark! What do you think of the quality of this unit, and have you heard of any concerns? I called our dealer today and asked what maintenance should I do before this year’s camping year. They recommended a$400 maintenance which check the roof, brakes, hubs and they do a un winterize service! Any comments you have on this.
There are currently 2 grades of that RV brand in my database from myself and another undercover shopper. If you want to view the database and learn to assess the quality of any RV like I do in my reviews, you can take my RV shopping course and use my app to grade it yourself - undercoverrvshopper.com/rv-shopping-course/
I also offer consulting where I get on a call with you and we can talk through your budget, camping goals and I can review any RV listings you’re considering - undercoverrvshopper.com/book-a-consultation/
We had a new Dynamax and now bought a Class C 2006 Bigfoot- Dynamax had more style; but Bigfoot has quality everywhere, solid insulation and accessible utilities, much of the work I've learned to do myself, which means he's not wasting time in the shop
Your class c dynamax is simply a ‘model’ named bigfoot, but is manufactured by a division of forest river - Dynamax, made in the usa, Not to be confused with a canadian manufacturer ‘Bigfoot’. Totally two different manufactures of different RV’s. 🍻
First and foremost, you run a very quality channel here. I watch a number of RV channels and hands down you provide more quality feedback than anyone else, please keep it up. However, I believe you might have missed the mark on this one. To compare a small company like Taylor Coach to a behemoth like Jayco, it's like comparing apples to cucumbers. One is a small mom and pop shop with the ability to perform quality control at all levels, while the other has been building RV's at all price points for decades now. There's just no comparison here. I would say the same thing on your video you did about Grand Design/Brinkley/Alliance. Grand Design should have been removed from consideration once Winnebago bought them. Brinkley is the new kid on the block, and of course builds a better product than the other two. Alliance has been around for a number of years now and if all goes as expected, they will likely be bought by one of the big boys in the next year or two. That's how this works. That said, Brinkley will someday fall from grace and likely be bought by a large manufacturer just like everyone else. I have owned both a Grand Design and currently own an Alliance 390MP. The Grand Design was a 2017 Reflection that was a very quality 5th wheel. The 2021 390MP has also been a quality coach. However, if I were to buy either coach today, 2024 models, I am quite confident I would spend a great deal of time fixing things. I have owned an RV, many different models and types, over the last 25 years, and one thing that I learned is that you will always have to fix something. You are basically taking your vacation home and subjected it to a 5.0 earthquake every time you pull it down the road. To add injury to insult, depending on what state you live in or travel in you will do even more damage. Again, great job on the channel and keep it up. My 390 MP is too big to use as a camper and I'm trying to sell it now. That means I will be in the market for a shorter and smaller 5th wheel in the near future hopefully. So please keep the information coming as you definitely make decision making much easier.
I bought a 2019 Jayco Hummingbird 16MRB,which happens to be my favorite floorplans in any small trailer, I purchased it new $15 grand out the door! It is far from my first RV, and a night and day difference from older trailers I've owned. Knowing that I have a purpose for why I chose a small camper, and with a few small problems that cropped up, with inflation and inflated prices there is no way I would buy a new RV, especially with the way they are built. These small campers are not worth the MSRP the manufacturer is asking plus with the current inability to haggle the heck out of a dealer you are buying a polished turd that is actually worth as much.
Having owned several domestic motorhomes in the past, and currently owning a Canadian one I can attest the Canadian RVs are much better built than the domestic ones.
I actually stopped doing any work on RV's to pursue making content for this channel. If you have not already, I would encourage you to check out my Tool-Free RV Maintenance course, that will help you stay out of the shop and save money by avoiding needing repairs. www.howtonotbreakyourrv.com/
The US has no equivalent to the fully-engineered, commercial-transport certified Prevost coach, designed and built in Canada to function comfortably in the dead of winter there--but customized for RV use.
RV plumbing should be done according to code. Also RV manufacturers need to automate processes and be more like auto manufacturers. Maybe quality would improve. Another factor is warranty work and repairs. Why do you have to drop off your RV and maybe get it back in 2 months. Imagine taking your car in for an oil change and being told to drop it off and come back in a week. Unacceptable.
Out of curiosity, have you ever thought giving your course away free on you tube, would generate more ad revenue and clicks therefore resulting in more money than what you make selling your online course? Got it buy the course, you say that a lot.
Oh I'm itching to get my eyes on those! Unfortunately, it will be quite a road trip so I'm not sure when I will be able to. In the meantime, you can use my grading app included in my RV Shopping Course to get my Rigor score if you are able to look at one in person. Here is my website so you can see everything included in the course, undercoverrvshopper.com/ Thanks for watching!
I apreciate your video but your rating system is fundsmentsly flawed. All your ratings are equally weighted. The roof, dual axle and cargo capscity, hoding tsnk capacity should count for more. Quality roof should count for much more in score than particle board, etc..
You are comparing a small, independent company to a giant manufacturer. Apples to lemons. Try comparing that independent Canadian company to InTech or Oliver or some other independent American RV company that makes their own frames, cabinets, etc.
Why do people always charge for These courses when you make money on you tube I don’t understand this concept it should be free if you want people to watch your channel
Under a market economy, one based on freedom of choice and the relationship of supply and demand, we are free to choose whatever we want with our money, after determining if the value we give up is equal to or greater than the value we receive. Regarding his courses, he can charge whatever he wants, and the market will tell us if he’s right or you’re right with your suggestion that his courses should be free. Personally, I find his videos compelling, and I’d be willing to invest in his course(s).
Would love a comparison of fiberglass campers such as Escape, Oliver, Casita, Bigfoot, Happier Camper, etc.
Same here. Oliver v. Escape and/or Bigfoot.
@@BobMiller-r7oOliver is the only fibreglass trailer with a double hull design.
Scamp, too!
Can outdoor showers be warm?

Ya! At $70-80 grants!!!
The 2008-09 recession so devastated the Canadian RV industry, it’s good to see a number that survived, or are finding new markets.
I believe Taylor Coach is now (2024) in their 57th year!!
I've owned a 14 ft Taylor coach and they are an amazing family owned company . The owner Brad is top notch !

Tell the story and quite saying to take your course every 2 inures!
Have you ever checked out a Rockwood/Flagstaff TT
How about a 2016 to 2018 Lance travel trailer 2295 or a new lance travel trailer
Can u do a review on outdoor rv's? Thx!
Was the electrical wiring & connections anybetter or worse on either camper?
How’s the Ember 201 FBQ ever do a review of ember trailer trailers
Thanks for the request! Here is an Ember review video that I've done - studio.ruclips.net/user/videoeeBrjw6MHeE/edit
Furrion AC is junk to me. Had awful experience with our set up in the Transcend we have
Thanks, Criss
Awesome Video!
Thanks!
Good review. Thank you
Having owned several domestic motorhomes in the past, and currently owning a Canadian one I can attest the Canadian RVs are much better built than the domestic ones.
and do you work on or do preventative work on trailers?
I actually stopped doing any work on RV's to pursue making content for this channel. If you have not already, I would encourage you to check out my Tool-Free RV Maintenance course, that will help you stay out of the shop and save money by avoiding needing repairs. www.howtonotbreakyourrv.com/
5th wheels
The US has no equivalent to the fully-engineered, commercial-transport certified Prevost coach, designed and built in Canada to function comfortably in the dead of winter there--but customized for RV use.
RV plumbing should be done according to code. Also RV manufacturers need to automate processes and be more like auto manufacturers. Maybe quality would improve. Another factor is warranty work and repairs. Why do you have to drop off your RV and maybe get it back in 2 months. Imagine taking your car in for an oil change and being told to drop it off and come back in a week. Unacceptable.
Do I even need to watch this to know the outcome?
Out of curiosity, have you ever thought giving your course away free on you tube, would generate more ad revenue and clicks therefore resulting in more money than what you make selling your online course? Got it buy the course, you say that a lot.
We have had an abortion fridge in 3 campers over 30+ years. No issues & we leave ours on from spring until winterized in the fall.
An "abortion" fridge? What?
Darned auto correct! I didn't catch that. LOL
Leisure travel van vs Renegade Vienna .
Oh I'm itching to get my eyes on those! Unfortunately, it will be quite a road trip so I'm not sure when I will be able to. In the meantime, you can use my grading app included in my RV Shopping Course to get my Rigor score if you are able to look at one in person. Here is my website so you can see everything included in the course, undercoverrvshopper.com/
Thanks for watching!
I apreciate your video but your rating system is fundsmentsly flawed.
All your ratings are equally weighted. The roof, dual axle and cargo capscity, hoding tsnk capacity should count for more. Quality roof should count for much more in score than particle board, etc..
Fifthwheels from Canda
Escape 5.0!!!!
You are comparing a small, independent company to a giant manufacturer. Apples to lemons. Try comparing that independent Canadian company to InTech or Oliver or some other independent American RV company that makes their own frames, cabinets, etc.
Hopefully the RV manufacturers will watch these video's and change the plumbing systems so that they meet or exceed code. Hold them accountable Jake.
I sure hope Jayco isn’t representing the typical American RV manufacturer, they do have a certain reputation from what I have observed.
👍
You sure put these RVs through the Rigor.
Too much self advertising! Other than that great video, thanks. I had not heard of Taylor before.
Nothing to do with the country and everything to do with the specific manufacturer
No contest, Canadian RV's much better built.
Shhhh, some of our manufacturers already have significant wait times. We don’t want to wait even longer. 😊
Your sound is too low!
Why do people always charge for
These courses when you make money on you tube I don’t understand this concept it should be free if you want people to watch your channel
Do you work for free? If not why would you expect anyone else too?
Why do losers think they deserve something free?
When you spend $30k a year going to college why is housing and books not free. Many people are not making the money you think they are.
Do you enjoy getting ratioed?
Hello, please make review and post of Casita, Escape, Oliver, Scamp RV trailers……..:-)
