Ladies and gentlemen, the most confusing choice for a Van Halen song in this game. This song was already in GHWT with full band tracks, why put it in this game? But still, the guitar tracks are drastically different for each game. This is not first place, unfortunately. I dropped an extended sustain at the end of the solo and I missed 400 on the activation right after it. I never missed that activation prior to this run, so that was disappointing. This was the first time I hit the final activation, so that's why I kept this run. Would've loved to have gotten 1st place on both version of the song, but it is what it is I guess. Special day tomorrow 👀

I love how GH Metallica couldn’t get Trapped Under Ice despite having a freaking ice cave venue but GH VH was able to re-use hot for teacher
Trapped Under Ice wasn't even exportable from GHWT for no apparent reason, yet the rest of the Ride The Lightning songs (that are available on the GHM disc, mind you) were exportable.

Fun fact, Alex's bass drums here consist of four bass drums paired two and two to make two extra deep bass drums (if you look closely you can even see the screw-holes for the drumheads in the middle of the drum). Also he has a fire extinguisher mounted on the right one - I guess in case he started overheating and catching fire! xD

This is my favorite song in Guitar Hero Van Halen and my favorite Van Halen song overall. Also, I'm sure that there is a perfectly logical explanation as to why this song was reused from Guitar Hero World Tour. Maybe at the time of development for GHWT, GHVH probably wasn't much of a thing yet. As a matter of fact, the idea of it may not have been brought to fruition. This version also supports Expert+ for drums, whereas GHWT didn't have Expert+. I do agree that it is kind of strange to reuse songs from previous games in the series, but what matters to me is that they're at least enjoyable. Guitar Hero Smash Hits boasts the most obvious example of this being a greatest hits compilation, but at least a good number of the songs that made it into that game are enjoyable or could be considered among the best in the series, despite the fact that some people, myself included, may point out songs that they feel are missing. What made those songs great in that game is being able to play all the original versions of the songs with a full 4-player band instead of having to settle for playing some covers that people can often times be critical towards with only one or two players at a time. What made this song great in this game is being able to play it in a game meant to pay tribute to the band in it's name, like "One" from GH3 & GHM.

holy fuck can't believe my 1st for this song has remained. i must've messed up the extended sustain glitches. i missed 400 but i did the last act from the first blue (srs, just like stopped strumming for 1/10th of a second lol) I remember this being one of the funner songs to squeeze, the more time spent just the more early whammy i got, round and round it went. great score as always, you killed this game dude

Also i think they had it here since it was, i guess one of their hits... i mean, smash hits also has some questionable choices, there isn't trapped under ice in GH metallica, it was always somewhat confusing in setlists i believe.

It's funny that, at least in my opinion, this is actually easier than the GHWT chart. Solo's a little easier, the chords right after the verses are a little simpler to hit (BO YB RY YB instead of BO YO RO YO), and the fast strumming at the end is a little easier. I suppose the zigs at the beginning could be considered slightly harder in the GHVH version, but not by much.

I assume you’re playing on the actual game, maybe try to tap a slight bit slower because of the busted slider notes
