You don’t have to work at NASA to change your self image. Instead, take some time to reflect and do the exercise I talk about towards the end of the video.

This is so true!! I noticed that in the past and learned from it but this video was great to reinforce that learning. Great exercise you suggested as well 👍🏻

They say if you want to Be something or a certain version of your Self, you have to embody it within your being first. You demonstrate and speak on doing that a lot in your videos when you talk about your come-up.

I like this video Ali!! I feel like in the engineering world there’s a lot of self-doubt and negative self-talk because engineering students or engineers often compare themselves to others. The power of the mind is as limited as you set it!!! Change your mindset, change your reality!! Keep up the good work!!

Absolutely! I think most intimidating thing is the feeling of seeing others going through classes effortlessly and thinking somethings wrong with you. Glad you figured this out in undergrad, took me a long time 😅

A lot of the things you talk about are spiritual teachings, but you present them in such practical ways, share your results, and it makes so much sense as to how you enabled and allowed things to work out for yourself. Today I am going to sit down, write out what i want, why I want it, and the first few steps to take to get me there, and do a meditation where I AM an EE. Also, going to re-visit memories that showcase my innate capabilities to accomplish what Im setting out to do, how I've had the ability since I was little, isolate beliefs, some of which dont even belong to me, about myself, my capabilities and my limitations and my life in general, and create an opposite, more supportive belief and demonstrate that within embodied visualizations in the meditation. I also have an appt with an advisor today to figure out if I want to do my AS in EE Tech or general engineering. Also, I dont have an end goal job idea set. Im just following my interests to see where theyll take me. I have a direction set, just not necessarily a destination. I feel like EE is more of a direction than an end goal, meaning I'm totally going to do it, but not sure where that will take me, granted it will b a huge accomplishment. Thanks for making all of your videos. They do help, a lot.

Need some advice, I was in college studying sports industry for 4 years then decided to change it but ended up taking a break from school to find out what would be more practical for me. Found out about Material Science and Engineering and also UX/UI Design and found some interest in both. Financial Aid is running out but i currently work as a full time security guard where the job would allow me to do my homework basically the whole shift. My hometown is really not a big design area and i really want to stay here so idk if UX/UI is smart. Needed some advice on what would be a smart decision to make, stay in school or do something else.
    Thanks

So I can’t answer this for you, but I want you to think about the following:
      1) material science and UX/UI design are very different. First one is more concerned with physics/chemistry, the other is entirely programming combined with art. Material science has a lot of room for research. What are you good at? And what do you enjoy? If you like creating things, UI/UX design sounds cool. If you are curious about how things work and how changed in chemical composition of materials can change how they behave, then there is that. If you have no idea, best is to try to dive into both simultaneously and learn about both. Also finding people who are working in those areas and ask what their jobs are like.
So UX/UI design is something you don’t need college for. You can go on skillshare and find tons of online courses. Maybe start there with those course and see if you like them!

@@alithedazzling The thing is I am still trying to figure out who I am. I’m a creative person but like you said in one of your videos having analytical problem solving skills combined with creativity is very good and would love to have that skill set. Wasn’t a math person but I’m realizing I can make improvements to achieve this goal. Materials Science combined with Fashion is interesting to me because it can aid in the fixture of environmental issues we have today or the textiles we use for clothing. I just want a career that is flexible and could give me a good quality of life.

@@federicoacheampong3768 you can acquire any skill through learning and experience. If I were you I’d take a UI/UX design course for a week at skillshare, then go to udemy and take a materials science course during that same week. Probably you can get free trial for both and as you do both each day see which one you are more curious about. With that put all your energy into getting some sort of opportunity related to that. Do not wait and try to find the perfect plan. Pick something that’s interesting and try to immerse in it.
