    *WAVE 6 REVEAL ADDENDUM - November 2023*
    I have quite a lot to say about the full reveal of Wave 6, but unfortunately the new addendum made this comment so stupidly long that RUclips wouldn't let me post it. You can, however, read the entire thing right here: docs.google.com/document/d/19LeK9QcAx7xwxGJCL1uwuYrHQLYttNGW/edit?usp=drive_link&ouid=101015711848145393701&rtpof=true&sd=true
    *The original pinned comment (September 14, 2023):*
    Daisy Circuit.
    _Daisy Circuit._
    I was hardly even expecting it myself (and I _absolutely_ didn't expect it to be the showcase of the direct teaser), but Daisy Circuit is really and truly the reality for Wave 6. I just knew Mushroom Bridge would have to be replaced by something, and I suppose that the metrics I used for deducing which course that would be turned out to be exactly correct. All that's left to see now is which of the GCN jungles we're getting. What an absolute ride this has been, for real.

      Truly a baffling decision by Nintendo. Imagine going out of your way to include every single Tour course in the BCP _except_ one. I can't begin to grasp the logic here.

  • @CeMi7
    @CeMi7 Год назад +9

    Tbh, Moonview's inclusion meant more to the whole BCP than most people think.
    First of all, it could not be planned from the start because of Maple Treeway being just before it. There was never a situation that two courses from the same game (except Tour) appeared in the same slots. Moonview had to be put in the placeholder during the timespan between wave 1's release to a little after wave 2's release. And I think this track is the reason why the placements of the tracks were shuffled.
    And that raises a question: If they were going to: put something in a placeholder, replace Mushroom Bridge, add Moonview Highway and add another track, wouldn't it make more sense to put Moonview in the MB slot? (Before you get mad at me, keep reading) If they put Moonview in the MB slot, there would be no need to shuffle all the placements. Well, unless they wanted to put another Wii track.
    Still, I think we have enough Wii tracks. I think we'll get MB anyway.

    I'm defying any and all logic in saying the mystery course could maybe be Wuhu Loop, I know its not in tour, but they already have a decent chunk of the island modeled for the battle arena, so as far as I know they could just patch up the island and reuse the battle theme.
    It probably falls under being another traffic course, but if this wave is supposedly gonna be filled with heavy hitters, I don't really see why not.

    • @Marshall.R
      @Marshall.R Год назад +1

      I'll admit, having one of the Wuhu tracks suddenly show up without ever being in Tour would make for one hell of a reveal, especially if it was Maka Wuhu which I consider to be the more grand and cinematic track of the two, something very fitting for the end of the BCP. Dare I say it might've even been within the realm of possibility if not for this situation where the hypothetical mystery course was not originally planned and is probably instead replacing Mushroom Bridge.

    I still don't think Daisy Circuit is a good choice, I just don't see them doing 8 Wii tracks or even another track named "circuit" in the BCP. Just feels like poor marketing like what happened with DS MC
    Rosalina's Ice World/Frappe Snowland are good options especially considering the trend of having a snow/winter themed track in every wave since wave 2
    Also despite your issues with Mushroom Bridge, I still think its a viable option especially considering how Moonview Highway was made easier in 8dx compared to Wii. I can easily imagine that they would make Mushroom Bridge harder, thus justifying it's Wave 6 placement.
    My Predictions are
    Acorn Cup

    SNES Bowser Castle 3

    For Airship, I disagree with your Reasonings.
    Courses like Riverside Park, DS Mario Circuit, Yoshi’s Island, and Berlin Byways introduced new enemies only in that one course.
    For BC3 and Airship, the lighting is the only thing that makes them look alike, and they could just change the time of day. If they do that the courses would look nothing alike. They may both have Bowser theming, but only 2 tracks in Wave 4 didn’t have Piranha Plants.
    And we’ve got older Tour Courses like Rock Rock Mountain. Being a fan favorite is more important than being an old Tour course. They might even completely redo the textures like 3DS Rainbow Road (though I see that as very unlikely)
    I could be wrong though, but Airship Fortress just makes the most Sense to me. Plus, out of all remaining options, Airship is by far the most liked.

    • @goatprince1
      @goatprince1  Год назад +2

      It's true that the BCP developers have added unique map objects to several courses, but I think it should be of at least some consideration that if Mushroom Bridge is being replaced at all, then the track replacing it likely would have been ported over later into the pass than most other courses.
      Because of that, I have the feeling that the developers might have opted for a course with no unique map objects to save on time.

    • @JKV2500
      @JKV2500 Год назад +2

      @@goatprince1 Fair Point, but I also think since it’s the final Wave, Nintendo would want to put in some fan favorites. If Airship was to be put in we would get the 3 best courses for many from Double Dash, DS, and Wii.
      I also think Koopa Cape or Moonview Highway could’ve work as the second spot. Place Daisy Cruiser in Waluigi Stadium’s spot, Place Daisy Circuit in Cruiser’s Spot, move Waluigi Stadium in Moonview’s spot spot, and make Moonview Highway the 2nd Acron slot. So why make Daisy Circuit Acorn 2 if they could have done that.
      I still like Daisy Circuit, but I would prefer Airship.

    • @JKV2500
      @JKV2500 Год назад +2

      I also think Bridge was replace because it got pushed pack from Wave 4 to 5, and became too easy for that Wave. I know Cruiser is Cnsw_46, but it’s possible that Bridge was that spot, but no work was done on that file till later, with Nintendo adding Cruiser in that spot because they didn’t want Bridge in the game anymore. There could’ve also been many other things like file corruptions but that’s reaching. Could be wrong, but who knows.

    I honesty would be fine if we got Airship and BC3 in the same wave, just take a look of how many nature based courses we got in Waves 1 to 5 such as Mario Circuit, MC3, Rock Rock Mountain, Toad’s Circuit, Riverside Park, Shroom Ridge, exedra. If anything we need more villain courses since MK8 Deluxe only has 2 those being Neo Bowser City and the nitro Bowser’s Castle. I would really live BC3 and Airship Fortress to make it in, one for the Acorn Cup Preferably BC3 and one for the Spiny cup, Preferably Airship Fortress just before Rainbow Road! PS, I think GCN Bowser’s Castle would also be cool but it’s not in Tour so we likely aren’t getting it

    Acorn Cup:
    Tour Rome Avanti
    GCN Mushroom Bridge
    SNES Bowser Castle 3
    Piranha Plant Cove
    Spiny Cup:
    Tour Madrid Drive
    GCN Dino Dino Jungle/DK Mountain
    Piranha Plant Pipeline
    Wii Rainbow Road
    I could see DK Mountain coming in, but it’s my predictions and I’m going with Dino Dino Jungle
    For Mushroom Bridge, while I do agree with your reasonings, I do have some things to comment:
    1: Moonview Highway replaced a PREFIX-LESS track, while both Cnsw_56 and Cnsw_66 had prefixes. Specifically GCN. Which leads me to believe that they were always going to be a GCN track, even if the exact one was undecided at the time, plus’s we’ve never seen a retro replace a retro, so why do it now?
    2: Moonview Highway’s traffic got nerfed, now being similar to a Flower Cup track, while Mushroom Bridge’s remained relatively the same, which would make that track the harder one, ironically.
    3: Tour is infamous for neglecting GCN tracks, as we’ve only had Dino Dino Jungle and Yoshi Circuit for a long time, then we got Baby Park in 2022, but that didn’t really change much. After that, we suddenly got 4 GCN tracks in the span of a year: Waluigi Stadium (it’s render appeared in the banner datamine), Daisy Cruiser, DK Mountain, and of course, Mushroom Bridge. The prefix datamine also had 4 GCN track, all coincidentally the 6th tracks of their respective waves, with Waluigi Stadium being the first to release. This tells me that those tracks were always planned for the BCP. In fact, why even remake Mushroom Bridge for Tour in the first place? Unless we’re getting it in the BCP, plus we don’t have a lot of traffic tracks in 8DX anyway, with 4/88 so far. Getting 5/96 traffic tracks wouldn’t hurt very much, would it?
    4: Even if MB is being replaced, we’ve had a Mushroom/Flower Cup track in every wave so far, and with the other retros being from the Star/Special Cups, it would make sense to bring a simpler track to give players an easier time. Which would mean tracks like Airship Fortress, Daisy Circuit, Dry Dry Desert, and Rosalina’s Ice World wouldn’t fit. Tracks that would would be: N64 Frappe Snowland, GBA Luigi Circuit (if you count the GBA Lightning Cup) and 3DS Shy Guy Bazaar. There isn’t a lot, and Mushroom Bridge would still be the best choice anyway. Also, y’all might be inhaling a little too much copium (no offense).
    I still think Mushroom Bridge is coming, and if it isn’t, I will gladly take the L. Not like that hasn’t happened before anyway.

    • @goatprince1
      @goatprince1  Год назад

      I see your points, but I would say even the nerfed Moonview we ended up with is considerably more difficult than Mushroom Bridge, as it still at least has a handful of sharp turns and traffic blindsight moments, as well as risk/reward scenarios with cars frequently driving over dash panels. I can't really imagine what Mushroom Bridge would have going for it in terms of difficulty, aside from people griefing you online by sniping the bomb cars. They would have to make some serious alterations tp the course for it to be a worthy candidate for Wave 6.
      Additionally, one of the reasons I chose Daisy Circuit is because it has such a simple layout, despite being a Star Cup track in Wii. It really had no business being in the Wii Star Cup to begin with given its lack of obstacles. However, it would still be more difficult than Mushroom Bridge in my opinion, and it has a much more unique aesthetic to boot.

    • @FidGame450
      @FidGame450 Год назад +2

      @@goatprince1 I did see a comment somewhere (can’t remember if it was in this video) that said that Mushroom Bridge could do a Peach Gardens situation and have the last lap in reverse and have the pipe be the way that can happen, since that is still in the Tour remake, despite it being unusable there. While I don’t think that’s going to happen, it is interesting to think about anyway.
      As for Daisy Circuit, there are a variety of reasons why I counted it out, aside from it being in the Star Cup:
      1: It’s a circuit track. It’s not exactly the most popular theme within the community, even with it’s unique setting.
      2: We’re going to be getting a total of 10 Wii tracks after Wave 6 releases. Out of 16. Wii is a popular game, but even that’s kinda pushing it. Adding in Daisy Circuit or any other Wii track would be overkill (Tour has more, but that’s to be expected).
      3: We just got Daisy Cruiser. Yes there’s 2 Mario Circuits, but at least there was a wave in between them. Wave 6 does not have that luxury.
      4: Even among the remaining Wii tracks, Daisy Circuit isn’t really that popular. While it would be a better choice than Luigi/Mario Circuit, do you really think that the devs would want to put that track in over Bowser’s Castle? Dry Dry Ruins? TOAD’S FACTORY??? Even if you only include the Tour remakes, I would still put Dry Dry Ruins in over Daisy Circuit any day of the week.
      I’m not completely disregarding the choice, as it’s Nintendo. They waited 5 years until they finally gave their best selling Switch game some DLC. However, I’m also trying to be realistic and to me, Daisy Circuit (or an 8th Wii track in general) getting in the BCP just seems a little more unrealistic than Mushroom Bridge getting in a wave after Moonview Highway.
      Regardless, I really liked the video and the way you explained your reasonings for each choice, even if we disagree on some things. Keep it up!

    I agree that Daisy Circuit is a likely replacement for Mushroom Bridge, though I also think GBA Luigi Circuit would be a good pick for the Acorn Cup's 2nd course. Both tracks are circuit tracks that are unconventional, creatively themed, and difficult enough for Wave 6's more climactic feeling, and their status as circuit tracks, as well being basic enough compared to the rest of the Acorn Cup's tracks helps them to fit the trend of the 2nd track in a cup being the most simplistic. Not to mention, both were released in Tour in 2023, fitting into the trend of the BCP's latter half being comprised mostly of recent Tour additions. Luigi Circuit also has the benefit of being able to recycle music from GBA Mario Circuit, making it even easier to port over than Daisy Circuit.

    • @Marshall.R

      Nah man Daisy Circuit is incredibly easy and would be a very bad pick for wave 6. GBA Luigi Circuit though would be a lot better due to it coming from a game that's not represented quite as much, it being a better fit thematically for the BCP, and it potentially having a much more interesting and fun layout. It still wouldn't exactly be my top pick, but it'd be a neat surprise to see.

  • @rebirthphoenix5646
    @rebirthphoenix5646 Год назад +1

    I feel like a lot of people don’t point this out but like Tour never gets Double Dash representation. In fact it took two and a half years after the game’s launch to get another GCN track that being Baby Park. By the time that track came out though, the BCP launched already and then we basically got 4 GCN tracks in the span of 1 year (and the prefix leak literally suggested that the developers planned for exactly 4 GCN tracks too from the start) which granted were in development prior to the BCP and may have released sooner if it weren’t for COVID but who’s to say the BCP was planned for this long? Hell Nintendo said the Breath of the Wild DLC for 8 Deluxe wasn’t the only DLC we were getting and that was years before the BCP was even announced. I think Tour and it’s inevitable ports to 8 Deluxe were planned years in advanced.
    Back to the Double Dash courses, it also makes sense how they were released in both 8 Deluxe and Tour: Waluigi Stadium came out first since it had a full render in the banner leak, Daisy Cruiser came next, DK Mountain after, and Mushroom Bridge last. Considering Waluigi Stadium is cnsw_36 and Daisy Cruiser was cnsw_46, I wouldn’t be surprised if DK Mountain and Mushroom Bridge was cnsw_56 and cnsw_66 to everyone’s surprise. And that’s also not to say that Moonview Highway got a massive nerf from its original incarnation and with the nerf it’s basically a Flower Cup course now. Mushroom Bridge with its varied traffic and two unique cars as well (the Mushroom Car which acts like the ptooies in Riverside Park and the Wiggler Wagons), much more varied routes being the sidewalks, the dirt cut halfway through, and the bridge railings which can easily be trapped (and are faster than the main route) and honestly you got yourself a more dynamically interesting traffic course than Moonview Highway which has much less than that and obviously the nerf in difficulty. And I can’t stress enough that having 5 traffic courses out of 96 tracks is a good thing. Before the BCP, we had 1 out of 48 so now having 5 out of 96 I think is great even if Mushroom City would’ve been more desirable. Granted yes Mushroom Bridge would be a slap in the face considering the rest of the Wave 6 retro lineup but we also got a Flower Cup course in every wave as well as a buzzkill so it can happen.
    And besides I’m pretty certain they added Moonview Highway to fill up that missing spot due to it either being a early scrapped nitro or it being a placeholder and that’s why all the shuffling happened so as to not have 3 Wii tracks in the same wave as well as possibly Mushroom Bridge then being also 2 traffic courses in one wave.

      Moonview Highway was created and chosen during the development of Wave 3 era, and that can explain why there was a rumor going all about that Maple Treeway was moved out of Wave 6 into Wave 3 because they didn’t want 2 Wii courses in one Cup. I think what they likely tried to do was having both DK Mountain and Dino Dino Jungle to end up in the same pass, but due to the swaps and changes and the variety would’ve been weird without the changes, they had to kill one of the Jungles, and then they decided on another retro that can fit Wave 6. Because it makes no sense to do all of these swaps just for 2 Jungle courses to make it into Wave 6. So in my opinion, DK Mountain was Cnsw_56 and Dino Dino Jungle was Cnsw_66.

    While not a bad prediction due to Nintendo's insistence on doing dumb things sometimes, Daisy Circuit would be a *very* bad choice for wave 6. Conceptually it's both yet another town/city track AND yet another circuit track, it's designed in a way that doesn't use either of its themes well, it's incredibly easy (and boring) to the point where Mushroom Bridge would've been much more fitting track for wave 6, and it would be an 8th Wii track (without being nearly as much as of a fan favorite as any other Wii track in the BCP). While I get we already have 7, I find it difficult to believe they would deliberately replace Mushroom Bridge with another Wii track when they have other more viable options from games that are less represented in the BCP.
    Speaking of which, I think DS Airship Fortress is the most likely replacement track. There's absolutely no way Nintendo isn't aware of the track's status as a fan favorite. In terms of its theme overlap, yes it exists as a second lava course in the same wave, but I think that's fine since it's making up for the complete lack of that theme in the entire rest of the BCP. Not to mention the marketing potential in terms of finally providing such a heavy hitter fan favorite after teasing fans with the idea for so long, as opposed to some Wii track that at best isn't that well known and at worst is actively disliked. And of course, there's potential for the retros to be shuffled around to the point where I think it'll most likely be something like this:
    Acorn Cup:
    Tour Madrid Drive
    DS Airship Fortress
    GCN Dino Dino Jungle
    Piranha Plant Cove
    Spiny Cup:
    Tour Rome Avanti
    Piranha Plant Pipeline
    SNES Bowser Castle 3
    Wii Rainbow Road
    While you could argue that SNES BC 3 isn't as much of a powerhouse track as one of the GCN jungle picks, and thus shouldn't be in the Spiny Cup, I'd argue that the thematic cohesion of having the Bowser Castle appear right before Rainbow Road makes up for it. And of course, that design would allow them to easily have BC 3 be just far away enough from Airship Fortress for it to not be jarring on the track selection screen or anything. Also, I'll quickly mention that I think Dino Dino Jungle is a little more likely than DK Mountain (it may absolutely be the latter though), and I think Nintendo will swap the order of the Tour cities for no clear reason, lol.

    2 city tracks
    1 Nitro either its new or existing
    1 GBA track
    1 winter track
    1 spooky track
    1 new retro track that Tour wont reveal till the BCP reveal it first.

      I'm eleven days late to your comment, but I'll bite.
      There are no specific patterns that the BCP developers intentionally adhere to when selecting the courses for each wave, other than each cup beginning with a city course, and the eventual inclusion of every single Tour course in the pass such that the BCP is able to function as a complete and permanent archive of Tour's original tracks. The final wave can't be deduced by trying to extrapolate superficial patterns from past waves regarding course theming and game representation. Rather, the only way to accurately solve the remainder of the pass is through the prefix datamine - which has a known track record of 31 of 33 courses - and the obvious corresponding content in Tour. Nintendo has shown time and time again through four consecutive waves that they aren't just changing things for no reason, so there's hardly any sense in doubting the prefix datamine when it comes to predicting the seven unknown tracks of Wave 6.
      There have so far been only two instances of the BCP defying the prefix datamine, and both happened for very clear and logical reasons. We got Moonview Highway instead of that mysterious final nitro course because said nitro course had been scrapped altogether by the Tour developers, giving the BCP team no choice but to throw in an extra retro course. We're getting Daisy Circuit instead of Mushroom Bridge because the latter course would have been a horribly basic and redundant choice for Wave 6 (or even Wave 5, for that matter) and was cut to make way for something more substantial and distinctive. Or, if the original Wave 5 GCN course had instead been some track that was planned for Tour but never ended up being made, then the inclusion of Daisy Circuit would be entirely self-explanatory, as whichever GCN course had been cancelled would have _needed_ to be replaced.
      Across all the courses that the prefix datamine points toward, not one has any actual reason to be replaced by anything.
      We're getting the four remaining Tour courses because the BCP is Nintendo's only shot at preserving all of the Tour tracks in a single, permanent package. The notion that they would go so far as to include twenty Tour courses but then arbitrarily decide to leave a single one stranded in an impermanent mobile game is absolutely absurd. If it was never Nintendo's intention to archive all of the Tour tracks, then they wouldn't have bothered to include even half of them in the pass to begin with.
      We're getting Wii Rainbow Road because Nintendo, by ending the first row of courses with 3DS Rainbow Road, has plainly set up the expectation that the second row of courses will similarly end with a fan favorite Rainbow Road. There isn't a single course in Tour besides Wii Rainbow Road that would make for a suitable finale for the entire pass to begin with. Additionally, actually consider a scenario in which 3DS Rainbow Road were the only Rainbow Road in the pass; It would make no sense for it to be featured as the Wave 3 finale instead of being saved for Wave 6 when whatever finale they had in mind for the final wave simply wouldn't be able to live up to one of the most revered courses in the entire series.
      We're getting SNES Bowser Castle 3 because it was blatantly and flagrantly designed with MK8's anti-gravity mechanic in mind and is arguably the single most impressive glow-up that any retro course has ever received. Finally, we're getting either of the two GCN jungle courses because we still only have two GCN tracks in the entire pass, with either of the jungles being a fan favorite that would work great as a finale to the lineup of GCN courses.
      Every single one of these courses is either extremely likely on the grounds of being very cinematic and/or a fan favorite, or is simply required to be included on the grounds of being a Tour course. There's no Mushroom Bridge or "mystery nitro track" situation to be had here; The selection of courses suggested by the prefix datamine lines up perfectly with what would theoretically be the most logical and marketable lineup of tracks for the final wave given the content available in Tour. There's no reason for any of it to be changed.
      Also, the chances of a new Tour retro happening are zero to none. Even by the time you had posted your comment, the official newsletter announcing that there wouldn't be any new content in the game following the Anniversary Tour was already out. If the fact that there were no remaining ID gaps somehow weren't sufficient evidence of that on its own, then the newsletter was the indisputable nail in the coffin. Tour is 100% finished with new content, so we're not getting anything in Wave 6 that isn't already in Tour.

    If we do get Wii Rainbow Road as Spiny Final, it would've made more sense for it to be in Moon Final and 3DS Rainbow Road in Spiny Final due to 3DS Rainbow Road being better than Wii Rainbow Road.
    Still, I don't see what guarantees Moonview Highway to have replaced a Nitro track rather than have been a place swap or a misnumbering (also why would there be 2 tracks of a same game that is not Tour in one cup anyway?)

      Moonview's internal number being 63 confirms that it replaced a nitro slot from the prefix datamine. The number 63 coincides with the third slot of the Acorn Cup, which in the prefix datamine has no prefix. There's not even a nitro course in Tour that could go into that spot to begin with.

      Again, it MIGHT (focus on might) be a misnumbering or place swapping and if it is a new track it wouldn't be in Tour due to the track being the closure of the pass, y'all jump to the conclusion it was replaced rather than misnumbered, a new track would be better to close the pass if 3DS Rainbow Road isn't and since Tour is done adding new content, makes sense this hypothetical new track not being there since the track would close the pass. Could be a "travel from point A to point B track" where at the goal says "The end. Thanks for playing!" hence not appearing on Tour, still, I do not discard the possibility of Wii Rainbow Road being the last track of the pass, but if it ends up being the last track of the pass, I'd be disappointed for 3DS Rainbow Road not having that spot.
